I am pretty darn sure that is a red typewriter on the table at the start of the film when they walk into his house. So either “Her” got it as a gift from “Him” or she bought one because she wanted to be like him. Potentially hinting at the fact that she was always trying to impress him by doing things he liked but then ended up finding herself by making it her own (writing a book and being successful)… am I clowning @taylorswift

ALSO I could write a whole essay on the colour motifs of this whole short film - blues representing Him, yellows representing her, red in the fireplace scene to represent burning love, her walking out of the blue curtains and book cover into warm yellow, the yellow lamps in the kitchen during the fight with the blue gas stove light representing her light trying to shine and be equal in the love.. I COULD GO ON BUT @taylorswift your brainnnnnnnnnnnn
