I'm finally allowed to share the piece I did for @fe3hfemslashex! We've got a cute little Hildagard fic in a Modern AU. We've got a little angst, a little fluff, and some good found family dynamics. I'm really pleased with how this one turned out.

Every year around the end of January I think to myself, "Hm. Maybe I should reenter the [X] Fandom. I'll rewatch/reread/replay and see where that goes."

GONCHAROV (1973) dir. Martin Scorsese
“It funny because for many years people thought Goncharov was the main antagonist of the film, after all, he’s the one everyone’s out to get, right? But it seems people are starting to understand that in actual fact, it is time that is the main adversary in this story. There’s never enough of it and that torments a lot of characters, especially Goncharov, because he’s fighting so desperately to find his place in a world that is so keen on keeping him ostracized.”

Ko-Fi & Other Support
If you enjoy my posts and can afford it, I would greatly appreciate it if you donated to my new ko-fi page! Each of these posts represents multiple hours of unpaid labor. I love writing for this blog, but I’m also an underpaid 20-something trying to stay afloat. I’ve made this master post of every essay I’ve written for this blog as a way to show my appreciation in advance of any support. If you donate, to further show my gratitude and appreciation, I’ll take requests for essay topics in the ‘messages of support.’
If you can’t afford to donate via ko-fi, another great way to show your support is simply by reblogging posts that you find useful and helping my blog reach new writers.
Thanks so much!

Hello everybody, thank you for taking part in the interest check! We are glad to hear that the idea of an Obito celebration resonated with so many of you!
We compiled your prompt ideas into a handy bingo card for Obito Week 2023. Between the 6th and the 12th of February you can play along by creating any type of fandom content you like with one or several of these inspirations above! Who knows, maybe you will get a bingo by the end of the week!
Leading up to the event we will offer you some synonyms and inspirations for each of these prompts to help your drive your creativity a little. We are already so excited for all you guys' creations!
If you have any other questions we would suggest you check our FAQ before sending an ask. We would also recommend everyone familiarise themselves with our rules.
See you all then!

My friend (who speaks English as a second language) wanted to express being able to write better than drawing, and this is how I’m describing my art skills from now on.

Note
"come chat with me on tumblr/twitter" is code for "please locate and use my ko-fi", right? No one actually wants their readers to strike up a conversation outside ao3, do they?
--
I would not assume that at all.
Often, yes, they do have a ko-fi, but a lot of people link to their fucking CuriousCat, and what's that about if not interaction? Many writers do like getting to know others in the fandom.
Plus, AO3 has no DM function. Writers may be anticipating all the things DMs would be useful for—like dropping them a quick note about embarrassing typos without making it a public AO3 comment.
Why wouldn't you want readers to strike up a conversation, anon?

2023 Writing Goals
I did one of these for my art blog, and tbh I'll probably do another one for my langblr bc Capricorns love lists.
While my other goal lists are much longer, there is also a lot of emphasis on being a beginner improving specific technical skills, which I don't necessarily need to do with writing. Instead, this list will feature fewer goals which are nevertheless more ambitious and harder to achieve.
So to start...
This year I wanna focus on community! That means my main focus is going to be on events and exchanges for fan content output. If you see an event you think I'd enjoy, send it my way, I'd love to hear about it! I've got one coming up that I'm very excited for, and another that I heard about on the bird site (which I can't necessarily participate in, but I may still just like unofficially idk).
Last year I attempted applying for a couple of zines, and there are a few valid reasons that I didn't end up making the cut. So I think if I focus for a few months on producing solid content for visible events, maybe sometime in the winter I will try to apply for another zine.
On a slightly more relaxed note, I'd like to update my two kinda big fics (Culture Shock and Ripple). Culture Shock should be easy, but Ripple is going to require some work. Still, both very doable. If I have the energy, I'd like to knock off some oneshot ideas that I've been sitting on for a while (close friends will recognize Firebird Hawks, the Malik oneshot, and the YGO Ready or Not crossover).
And finally, I'd like to focus on my novel. I've done myself a lot of favors and set a lot of groundwork, but there is still a lot that needs to be accomplished. I think a reasonable goal would be to first draft the first five chapters. (This also coincides with my goal to get out of the house a little bit because I'd like to start frequenting some of my local cafes a bit while I write)
At some point I'll clean up my pinned post lmao
