It should be illegal to require that any device or software connect to the internet just to run. I shouldn't need to log in with microsoft to open any of their programs on my local computer. All games should be playable without access to an online server. All media you pay for should be downloadable to local disk as a raw file and if they don't like that because they know you'll share it and upload it, tough shit. They took your money already, they'll live.

children existing in public spaces is genuinely like. necessary for the continuation of society. it doesnt have to be your kids you dont have to volunteer at a daycare or whatever but you need to be able to tolerate the presence of someone who is learning how to exist as a human and interact with people

One thing I've noticed, and stop me if I'm stating the obvious, is that the people in favour of barring under-25s from UK gender clinics are focusing the vast majority of their attention on AFAB people. They talk about "little girls" being "manipulated" into "mutilating themselves", "vulnerable children" cutting off their "barely-grown breasts" (ugh), and so on. I've seen zero mention of "little boys" taking estrogen or getting implants, and I think that's interesting, because it displays more clearly than ever the delineation between the treatment of transmascs and transfems.

It's hardly newsworthy to say that transmascs are perceived as victims while transfems are perceived as predators. Our "mental illness" makes us naïve, fragile, immature; their "mental illness" makes them scary, aggressive, perverse. Most TERFS won't even use the phrase "trans girls". They're always "women". To acknowledge that trans girls can be girls - that they can be young and in need of protection - goes against the entire TERF creed, so they just don't mention it. It's as blatant as it is disgusting.

Have to say, House MD is the only show that really does live up to the hype on tumblr.

Dr Medical Malpractice really does walk around committing the most insane crimes on the daily.

The show oscillates between radically protective of vulnerable people, and the most mean spirited takes possible in the name of edginess.

House and Wilson really do have the wildest little fucked up relationship you’ve ever seen.

It’s like the opposite of the Yo, Mr White meme, where’s every joke post is just a canonical scene from this damn show.

Here's the thing:

Cis people really do feel like the gender they were assigned at birth.

Cis women really do feel like women, and cis men really do feel like men. They experience what we would call gender euphoria related to dressing and expressing themselves as their gender, whether that's in a femme way or a butch way or any other way. They feel joy and connection with their gender, with their sexuality and how it relates to their gender. They wear clothes, participate in activities, and express themselves in ways that affirm their gender identity.

Gender critical radfems and terfs will try to convince you that "no woman feels like a woman". They do this for several reasons. Firstly, it's to try to convince trans men they aren't trans, they're just women with no connection to womanhood because "no woman feels a connection to womanhood". They also do it to try to discredit trans women, by saying "If you feel like a woman, then you're clearly not a woman, because "woman" isn't a feeling, it's biology".

A lot of gender critical terfs and radfems claim they are "dysphoric women", and will try to convince you this is a normal state of womanhood. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no, that doesn't sound normal at all, actually. Most women do not secretly wish they could be men, or more androgynous, or have a penis. Most women don't define their lives through suffering - they love being women.

If womanhood - or manhood - is making you miserable... you might be trans, or you might be gender nonconforming. See if dressing a different way makes you feel a spark of joy and happiness - seek euphoria!

Gender should be joyous, not drudgery.

If a worker who isn't the owner says ANYTHING similar to "I'm not really supposed to do this but-" and then does something that helps you, under no circumstances inform the business, including through reviews. You tell them that the worker was polite, professional, the very model of customer service and why you like to go there. You do not breathe a word of the rulebreaking.

I like imagining the policy changes to Nasa after Mark Watney's extended stay on Mars. Used to have 4 independent communication methods? Make it 8. Send enough food for 3 years now. Send so much duct tape. The rover needs to be able to recover from being rolled. The air locks between the rover, HAB and pop tents should all be interchangeable.

Also potatoes. I fully believe that every manned mission after The Martian will include potatoes, for sentimental reasons. I am equally sure that Mark absolutely hates that fact.
