"I’m just thinking about how well I believed I was doing at the year, how well I WAS doing in comparison to before, but I wasn’t sharing an entire part of personality (the pieces that require some measure of vulnerability and are...unpredictable/highly sensitive). Except when you project your Best Self for survival, to cope, to be able to fucking face the day and get out bed (because your Best Self CAN)...it’s hard to turn that off, or you forget that it’s even on. 

I can make it through life on my Best Self, but I’m not truly living my fullest life, and I’m not really at peace with my Whole Self. And I’m keeping myself from others! I cried this morning (because it’s my first Thanksgiving away from la familia (despite working Thanksgiving AND Black Friday for the past 5 years lol)) because I think about how much of front I put on for them! I didn’t even realize! I did it to protect myself when we were imploding, but then I didn’t! turn! it! off!

And when I say I lost my personality to depression and anxiety??? I tucked it away and hid behind my Best Self and forgot that she’s under there...somewhere! Maybe!?"

Never knew what love really felt like until i moved in with my best friends and realized that i didn't like staying in my room all day, and id much rather take naps on the couch where one or both of them are in the same room, doing their own thing peacefully. They make fun of me for all my dad naps, but it's so peaceful and comforting to fall asleep around the people you love and know that they'll look out for you and/or wake you up if something happens. I spent all day Saturday asleep, literally woke up late, got breakfast, sat down on the couch, and konked out for an hour. Woke up, vacuumed, went back to sleep. Woke up to make some chips, went back to sleep. When they leave town without me i can't take my couch naps cause it's not as comfy without them there. Humans are made for communities. Humans are made for best friends. Humans are made for napping with someone nearby who loves you.
