ARE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?

My father insisted that, before I was born, he had a dream in which a child reading a marine biology book came to him, told him their full legal name, and said that they were waiting on him so they could be born. That full legal name is what is on my birth certificate. The name I chose for myself is the title of a Regina Spektor song, and my middle names are my mother’s and paternal grandmothers, respectively.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?

Yesterday. I am very angry about my local post office right now.

DO YOU HAVE KIDS?

No, not yet. I’m working on it.

WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED?

I did taekwondo, played soccer and softball in formal settings as a kid, and informally street hockey and football. I don’t play any now because I am old and don’t know where to start.

DO YOU USE SARCASM?

I hate this place

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?

On a bad day, it’s flaws I can weaponize in case the interaction goes poorly. But I’ve been in therapy for some time, so now I at least feel bad about it. On a good day, it depends on the interaction and defining features of a person.

WHAT’S YOUR EYE COLOR?

Brown. It is my favorite color.

SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?

One does not exclude the other, but I don’t find happy endings necessary for a good story. So, scary movies.

ANY TALENTS?

I feel I’m pretty good at whittling without having to have put in a lot of practice. That, and meowing. I frequently meow at my cat and if someone is on the other line, they think it’s actually my cat.

WHERE WERE YOU BORN?

North Carolina, in the middle of a hurricane.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?

I collect rocks, pokemon cards, and vinyl records. I also draw, play video games, and do various crafts.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?

I have several. My dog is named Horseboat, my cat is named Pinot, my rats are named Soup and Sandwich, and my gecko is named Small Lady.

HOW TALL ARE YOU?

Unlike @eavangeek, who is some inches shorter than me and lying, I am actually between 5’6 and 5’7.

FAVORITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL?

I enjoyed art, computer science, English, German, and the various Home Economics style classes that collapsed shortly after I went to high school.

DREAM JOB?

Ideally I would like to hand-farm, or exterminate monsters. However, animal rehabber would be a dream also.

ARE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?: My dad's ex-girlfriend. 🙃 Not weird at all, right?? I was going to be named something else entirely (which I would have actually preferred as it easily shortened to a masculine name) but my mother mentioned it to her sister-in-law, who gave birth two months before my mom did, and she used the name for my cousin! My mom was unimpressed. So I got a backup name. (My dad swears it's just cause he liked the name, they weren't even that serious.)

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?: Hmm... A couple weeks ago I think? While reading fanfic. 😅

DO YOU HAVE KIDS?: Nope. Tried a while back. Turns out my reproductive organs are broken as hell. It was probably for the best as it means I'm not permanently tied to my now-ex. Hope to foster some day.

WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED?: Hahahahahahahahahaa... no. Though every school coach tried to recruit me for basketball until they found out I have zero hand-eye coordination.
