I saw your posts about not liking Megatron's redemption in IDW and wondered if it's just because of the context or if you dislike the concept of him being redeemed in general? Because I've been thinking lately about how it'd be interesting if in some future continuity they made the 'cons less outright evil and more morally grey and how a redemption could be interesting and I'm interested in hearing other peoples opinions!

It’s not that I dislike him being redeemed, there were moments in mtmte that were very impactful to me in terms of his progress. and I do like tired dad megatron looking after a ship full of 12 year olds. I like it when characters learn the errors of their ways and try to be better. 

I would say its. the scale. his destruction stretches across the universe and thats huge. his story as the decepticon leader stretches over years for readers and- I’m a late reader, I jumped on when mtmte was pretty much ending so the shift from decepticon leader to autobot wasn’t as impactful for me because I thought it was just a cool idea for an old franchise. I didn’t realize idw stretched back like 10 years+. For a story of that span, the switch to autobot, even if you have his backstory, feels. very sudden imo.

I was doing some thinking of idw megatron( as I do) and I was like 'sure he doesn't deserve the mtmte crew or redemption treatment((which i would've liked to have seen in a side comic or smth)) I enjoyed the ride. I do like sof megs, bc he's sof and I like soft and it was a fun ride to be on.
