the reason for "male loneliness epidemic" aside from being a cop-out for misogynistic losers is a lot of men genuinely are lonely because they're relying on a female romantic partner alone for emotional support that ISN'T present in their friendships. but the thing is, 1. not every girl will be your mom for that long or at all and 2. relationships don't always last. this is imo why so many straight men prioritize finding a romantic partner so much. it's not because "women need men less" by nature or whatever. it's about what is and isn't socially acceptable according to patriarchal values.
