☽ little tips for witches ☾

here I will leave some very useful tips for those who have been in practice for some time, as well as for beginners. I hope this text will illuminate and help each one on their way! ✨

• to do energy cleaning in your home, put in a glass: water, coarse salt and charcoal. position it behind the entrance door.

• bury egg shells in a pot or in your home garden to ensure abundance and fertility in your home.

• do not put the ashes left over from the incense out, they can be reused in making the black salt.

• burn dry rosemary to attract protection, purification, psychic abilities and openness for healing.

• to attract positive energies to you, spread several mirrors around your home, just avoid those with sharp details on your edge. they also help to clear the mind.

• to ward off any bother that is bothering you, write the key words of the situation on a white candle. light the candle and ask the fire beings to burn this evil that you want to destroy.

• spread blackheads under the bed for protection during your sleep.

• make a wreath with chamomile flower and hang it on the door to protect the environment throughout the year from physical and spiritual damage.

• use cinnamon to improve your individual skill with prophecy through divination, channeling and working with oracles.

• when making your own oils, use olive oil and dried herbs of your choice.

• press and store rosemary leaves in your books. this will increase your wisdom during your studies and your memory, making you learn more easily.

• burn some thyme on your altar to clean up your magic space. thyme when burned with incense strengthens psychic power.

Ok so somebody asked for some tips on starting their grimoire so here’s this long ass post for anyone who needs it.

You do not need some big fancy notebook it can be a really cheap one or it can be online or in a scrapbook/binder

Organizing a Grimoire

🍁This isn’t needed, if you prefer the write as you go method that’s fine.

🍁For those of us who prefer to have it organized a table of contents is a must.

🍁Try and plan what your going to write down when. If it helps write down in a notebook or in your book of shadows every idea you can think of putting in your grimoire and number them.

🍁It’s ok if it’s not ‘perfect’ chances are this is your first grimoire so not only is ok its natural to make a few mistakes here and there

🍁Write in pencil if you don’t like crossing out mistakes or using tipex

🍁The key thing to remember is that it doesn’t need to look ‘Tumblr perfect’ as long as you understand it

Charging Magical Tools

Be it wands, herbs, altar pieces, crystals, or anything you use in your practice, it will need cleansing and charging. 

For thing that need to be charged with intent, like herbs and mantras, there are many ways to do it but starting can be a little… well, confusing. After all, no one ever taught you how to put your energy into  something that doesn’t have any in itself. Hopefully, my beginning tricks can help you learn a few of your own, or spark some research.

remember that some things like wands, crystals, and various other items need to be in moonlight, sunlight, darkness, etc depending on their types and uses. Do your research on what your tools need individually.  

Also remember to always practice in a cleansed, protected place!

How I charge my tools and trinkets: I often cleanse my area and meditate for a few minutes until I can feel my thoughts slowing down and my breathing gets deeper. I have ADHD, so I know how difficult it can be for some people: just remember that practice makes perfect! 

Then, it’s pretty simple: I cup the object in my hands, or I hold them with both if the item is too large, and close my eyes. I focus on two things: breathing evenly, and feeling the item in my hands. If it’s a pile of dried herbs, I run my thumbs through it so I can feel the grains and textures. Then, it’s a matter of envisioning my energy. 

For me, I like to imagine a little glow in my chest, and I imagine it slowly reaching out through my shoulders, down my arms, and pooling into my palms. I hold onto the item and let it soak up that glow. Sometimes i can tell when it’s done charging - other times, I just have to cut it off and hope for the best. Of course, I can always charge more later. 

After that, I usually let the item breathe for five or ten minutes before putting it to use. 

Remember that while you do continuously make energy, you can use it faster than you make it. Remember to slow down when you get tired, get plenty of rest, and don’t charge more than you can afford. Fatigue is a common enemy.

What to ask tarot

So tarot card questions are actually a lot different than asking a specific question. You wouldn’t say, for example, “Is my dad going to graduate?” because if you got the 3 of cups, you would be utterly confused as to why I did not provide a yes or a no. So below I am going to list questions that are good to ask the cards. 

• I’m at a fork in the road. Which way should I go?

�� How do I weigh out the choices I have? What are the Pros and Cons?

• What do I need to know to make the best decision? What do I need to know?

• What do I need to know about a situation with a family member?

• What do I need to know about my love life?
