I started this one on the tablet, came back to the paper to straight the ideas, and then back to the tablet haha Sadly I forgot to save the first draft made.
The word "front" on this one was the most difficult part of any lettering I've made so far (the second place goes to "self-esteem" on the Halsey’s quote posted on January 16 lol)
The paper draft: (as you can see, the front was changed — many times):
Definitely not my best one, but I still like it because of the "techniques" I've tried to use lol. The gradient, the shadows... I haven't been using them much lately, I should use more in my future designs.
The ugly sketches:
The thumbnails/drafts date July 2018, while the finished one is from October 2020.
This is probably my favorite one so far and I didn't make sketches at all. One day I was watching something on Netflix and the inspiration just clicked. I wish I had filmed tho... RedBubble Teespring
This was one of the drafts I've made in mid-2018 but only actually draw in 2020 — when I bought my tablet. I finalized in Adobe Illustrator and couldn't really pick one color palette, so it's different on Instagram haha
1) Early thumbnails:
2) Final draft — with a different proposal for the "self-esteem" part
3) Tablet work
4) Finalized on Illustrator
Once a got to the tablet I really struggle to keep the cursive style, so I decided to chance. And that improved a lot the readability.
