I think a blatant sign of how degenerative our postmodern western societies are is the way we treat the most vulnerable people, young kids and the elderly.

We're in an economic world designed to make having kids into a burden, and we're guilt tripped into not having them as we're told it's bad for the climate or whatever.

And we let the elderly finish their lives alone in their home or even worse, in an impersonal and clinical nursing home where they are being taken care of by paid strangers, and sometimes even neglected or abused.

Friendly reminder that penance isn’t a requirement to have our sins forgiven but rather something to make us feel like we’re working towards holiness again/rebuilding our relationship with God. It’s not to make God feel better, it’s to make us feel better. Therefore your stipulation that penance must be completed to be forgiven after committing a mortal sin and confessing it to a priest in Reconciliation is incorrect. Absolution is all you need to be free of your sin.

If I were to die on my way to Confession, would God still forgive my sins since I was intending on going to confession, and I was fully remorseful and intent on improvement in my heart? I’m sure the answer would be yes.

Yes. God isn’t so legalistic that He’d send you to hell on a technicality when you’re truly sorry and committed to repentance.

Good day to each and everyone who will be reach by this post. Im currently in need of your help, Its not really for me but for mother, she needs to have an operation. She has parovarian cyst. Last March 2021 she was operated at our local hospital but the operation was unsuccessful she is experiencing continuous bleeding and was advice to undergo another operation immediately but because its still pandemic there are procedure that we need to follow before she can have her operation, first she needs to have a negative swab test result and for me her watcher during her stay in the hospital needs to undergo the same procedure as her.

My mama and I had no communication for over a year but I reconciled with her upon learning her situation, even though she already undergone an operation she was still bleeding and her blood counts slowly getting lower and in order for her lessen the blood loss she was prescribed with higher dose medicine and was advice to take another surgery to remove the cyst. The first plan was to get us tested for covid and when the result came she can have her operation. It should be this week but Im afraid we are lack of funds and Im so bless a good person already covered the covid test. Our problem right now is the hospital bill and doctor's fee. At first I thought the doctor will remove her professional fee but sadly, it wasnt. Mama's surgery has an estimated value of hospital bill is 50,000-60,000 pesos and if possible I will seek help for her take home medicines 15,000pesos. (My goal is $1,700-$2,000)

Im sincerely knocking on everyone's kind heart, Please help me, please help my mama have her operation immediately please.. If we will wait for our government aid to be available to us it will be very expensive for us to buy her medicines.

Ps. I don't live with my mama, I just went to her place to see her and know her situation but I was alarmed to see the bleeding and how much she lost weight.

Please pray for my mama for her next operation to be successful and for her past recovery ( prayers are powerful more than anything). Thank you for your understanding.
