one of my professors said something wise before a lecture and it's stuck with me since,
"sacrifices, not regrets"
im realizing more and more every day that I need to make sacrifices in order to succeed. I no longer want to go into things thinking of what more I could have done.

back after so long, think it's been a year or so. i'm second year uni student so I've been more than busy. I lost my studygram so this may very much become a mixture of poems and stem work! I hope to maybe make more connections this time around so feel free to send a pm!
always with love,
cephy

have you ever experienced a moment that truly feels like it was made just for you?
the sun setting in the horizon, leaving hues of pink and orange, and by the time you pull out your phone to capture the moment, its gone.
the moon, full and beautiful in the early hours of the day, and not even 5 minutes later , hidden by the clouds.
i cherish these moments of solitude, little moments of magic of this world for my eyes only.

death of a star.
a carcass of helium and dust.
scattering the glow of her neighbors.
they mourn for her.
yet the death is bittersweet.
as you rised from ashes
star child

i find young children honestly so fascinating.
once i was sitting in a home decor shop on one of those porch swings, just on my phone waiting for my mom to finish shopping. i had some heavily ripped jeans on, a band tee, and some heavy make-up. then this little girl dressed in a onsie and a pikachu cap just plopped down next to me and started talking about her day.
the tiny child was not the least bit intimidated by the alt girl twice her age. just talked about pokemon and how her mom was shopping. it was just one of those experiences that stick with you, ya know

The Dark Academia Book Club
“Words can be like X-rays if you use them properly – they’ll go through anything. You read and you’re pierced.” ― Aldous Huxley, Brave New World
Tumblr media
And so it begins. The book club you didn’t know you needed. If you, like me, have been stalking the dark academia tag like a mad man, you might have seen a group chat floating around simply called Dark Academia Book Club run by some weird girl called @lunaisdumb. Well surprise! That’s me yay! You might also very well not have seen, and in that case. Hello my name is Luna and I run The Brave New Book Club. Anyways this post is the official introduction of our main heroes/the members of the club, and guess what! That could be you, because this is also the advertisement post for our Discord server.
I’ll break down the main points:
Everyone can join!
Each month we all vote on a book to read based on recommendations from our members.
We will provide a free pdf of the book we’re reading.
We have a monthly discussion both in a text chat and a voice chat.
You will not be kicked out if you don’t finish the book on time, so no worries!
And lastly we just want to have fun and share our love for books with everyone, so please join :)))))

say it louder
If you mourn the death of ancient languages but do not mourn the death of innocent black people, you need to reevaluate your priorities.
If the burning of the library of Alexandria or of Notre Dame brings you to tears but do not care about the fires started by desperate and grieving protesters demanding justice, you need to reevaluate your priorities.
It is okay to love and be passionate about things from the past, but we must also care about our present. 2020 will someday be history too. Don’t let yourself be on the wrong side of history. Don’t ignore the racial injustice that is all around us.

These experiences are all so new to me
Yet this summer we make history
George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade
I will screan, and shout, and say their names
I'll fight for justice while they fight for their lives
Due to all the violence we see with our eyes
We protest only to be hurt and battered
But we will not rest because black lives matter

If anyone ever thinks that nobody will remember you or miss you if you die:
Today I read about a 17 year old girl who died recently. I didnt recognise her name, but I recognise her face.
I used to work at Subway, and I remember her. She would come in every Friday with her friends and order a tuna sandwich, double cheese and toasted. I knew her order off by heart because it was all she ever ordered, and she would always be very polite. I never knew her name until today.
I haven't seen her since I quit working there, 3 years ago. But I remember her and I remember her voice and her order and how polite she was and how I was always jealous of her hair. Now she will never order another 6 inch tuna sub and that is really upsetting me.
Somebody will miss you. Someone will remember you. The cashier at your local shop. The woman who always likes seeing you walk your dog. Your next door neighbours. A fellow school pupil who always admires your makeup or your hair. You will be missed.

my ideal life
my ideal life is a beautiful mix of dark academia, cottagecore, and witchcraft.
i want to be the small town mystery that can regularly be found at the farmers market of at the local small library and book store.
i want to fill my home with drying herbs and marble busts.
i want to live on a large farm land with almost perfectly kept gardens.
i want my home to be a dark cottage on a hill, surrounded by apple trees.
i want towns people to come to me when they are sick so i can help heal them with my herbalist methods.
i want to spend my time every morning making homemade rosemary bread and flavored honey to share with my neighbors.
i want to live a sustainable and low waste life so that the earth is just that tiny bit happier.
i want to take and old book in french and read it while sitting inside my garden.
i want to own a small ivy covered cafe with gold accents littering the walls.
i want to wake up to fog outside my house that gently envelops my gardens.
i want to have a close knit group of friends that are wild and slightly pretentious.
i want to preform rituals and make eco-friendly blessing baskets.
i want to fall in love and stay in love till i end.
i want to loudly listen to Frederic Chopin and waltz with my parter while the sun is rising.
i want to frequent museums and large art galleries.
i want to publish poetry under a fake name in another language.
i want to live in England and travel around the world, i want to experience the cultures that fascinate me.
i want to go star gazing with my friends while drinking tea and wine and have philosophical debates.
i want to have picnics at night next to a secret body of water in the woods and skinny dip while the full moon beams down from directly above me.
i want my children to pass along my legacy.
i want to live long and peacefully pass away to dance with the stars.
that is my ideal life.

you've been through many challenges traveller.
from the smoothest path
to rushing rapids and jagged falls
to magnificent mountains that tower all
you have conquered every obstacle prior to this
you may be in a valley now, but you're still moving forward
