Hurricane Clara - End
Read it all here
Clara had shut herself into her room, laying curled up on her bed holding her still swollen stomach as silent tears rolled down her cheeks. Sitting on the edge of her bed was a small plush turtle that her mother sent over for the baby, a small toy that she no knew would never be played with. It felt like a small pop followed by the lingering feeling of gas yet to escape. And then there it was, a miracle. It started off subtle at first, feeling more like an upset stomach but before she knew it she realized she was feeling a small foot pressing against her innards. “KURT!!!” She cried out with joy as the blank empty expression erupted with joy.
BAMF
“What is it?” He asked in a panic. She didn’t answer but your beaming smile gave him hope as she scrambled up off the bed to rush to his side. She grabbed his hands, placing them on her protruding stomach. He looked up to her eyes, confused by the exuberance until there it was the slightest movement within that made his eyes light up brighter than the sun. “How…?
“I don’t know.” She was practically laughing, giddy.
“Ultrasound?” He asked his eyes snapping from the once again inhabited womb up to her brought smile. She nodded repeating the word in a more definite tone before they both made a mad dash for Hank.
~ ~ ~ ~
“Well she does appear to be unharmed.” Hank confirmed as he looked over the images of the baby the machines produced. “It’s remarkable!”
“Es ist ein Wunder!” (It is a miracle) Kurt breathed out in a sigh of relief.
“She?” You asked quietly, happy to hear the gender of your unborn.
“Yes Clara, she.” Hank chuckled as he moved the ultrasound transducer over her skin getting a better angle of what was inside. “And it looks like she’s happy to be home.”
Tumblr media
“What is that?” Clara asked looking from the screen up to Hank.
“That my dear is the placenta…She’s hugging it.” He chuckled before turning to Kurt. “Remind me Kurt, when did you first manifest your powers?” Hank asked looking up to him, very interested in how the baby might have survived the attack.
“Umm. From birth I believe. Why?” He asked folding his brow in confusion.
“Well I can’t be sure but my best guess as to how she survived would be your teleportation. She is a second generation mutant after all, so it is entirely plausible. It is afterall human nature to recognize danger,” he turned to Clara, “or she could have just found the position you landed in to be too uncomfortable and vacated.”
“To be quite honest Hank. I don’t care how. I’m just grateful she’s alive and well.”

A few months later
“I look like I’m smuggling a watermelon.” Clara grumbled to Tamara as she looked over herself in the mirror. She couldn’t believe that Tamara had been able to tame the tangled mess of hair on her head into a stylish updo…well, not so much as tamed as as camouflaged under folded braids and twisted knots pinned together to make something miraculous. Tamara, on the other hand, with a perminent tan that Clara had always envied, her raven hair was pulled back by her braids which were dressed up by small jeweled clips, deep dark waves streaming down her neck.
“You look like you’re about to pop any second now is what you look like. Are you sure you it’s a good idea for you to be here?” Tamara half scolded as she adjusted her friend’s hair one last time, trying to make her look just as presentable as possible.
“Not entirely sure…But after all everyone put into this I’m not about to miss it.” She answered with a smile as the steel band began to play. The staff was in place, the silent auction was set up, the boys were outside mingling with Warren’s rich friends, all that was left was for the girls to open the doors.
“Don’t worry girl, you got this.” Tamara encouraged, before opening the doors. Kurt and Warren came up to their sides, their arms wrapping around the waists of the women they cared so much about. Warren and Tamara had gone public with their relationship weeks ago, with Clara’s blessing of course.
“Thank you everyone for coming tonight!” Warren announced loudly, bringing the crowd to a hush. “I’ll be honest. When I took on this project it was to impress a girl. And I’m not talking about the one on my arm.” He paused to let everyone chuckle politely. “It was this one,” he gestured to Clara. “Now, I’ll be honest, I really don’t know much about marine life, but I did know that these amazing creatures had captured a place in her heart long before I stepped foot into her life. So If you don’t mind, I think she can tell you about them much better than me.”
The crowd erupted into applause for her though she honestly couldn’t understand why. She knew she was further out of her element here than ever. “Umm…Hi…” She stumbled through her words, her hand rested on her stomach, gently rubbing it, though most of the day it had been pretty inactive, comfortable in its position. “Most of you don’t know me. My name is Clara Wellington-Ebanks, and I grew up on a small island most of you have heard of…Grand Cayman. Infact, I’m told most of you probably have an account at one of our lovely banks.” Like a hivemind everyone chuckled at the joke Warren advised be in there. As they laughed she could feel a dull ache in the pit of her stomach. Her hand dropped from her belly to Kurt’s, squeezing it tightly. His eyes, though hidden by his hologram, held worry in them as he looked to her. The hand loosened its grip though, as the pain passed. “Though many of you probably have never actually been there. I spent most of my days on the beach the tourists stay on and I am sure I have never seen any of your faces there. Which is a shame. You should. If you did from the second you stepped onto the island you would see the amazing gift sea turtles are. Sea turtles are charismatic endangered animals that have roamed the seas and nested on our shores for millions of years. A healthy wild sea turtle population can provide unforgettable experiences to Cayman Islands residents and visitors by allowing observation of turtles laying their eggs, turtle tracks and nests on our beaches, juvenile turtles in our waters, and baby turtles emerging from the sand and scurrying into the sea. As a child I was lucky enough to see this. It was one of the most amazing displays of life I ever witnessed. And it’s not just on my beaches” The pain was back, and worse. But just like last time it passed.”Females use beaches throughout the southeast United States, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Hawaii to lay their eggs. And their migration patterns bring them all the way up the coasts of this beautiful country and all the way to Africa and Australia.” Clara’s words became more labored as she spoke, her breathing focusing on suppressing the sudden twinges of pain. She knew what was going on, it was hard to miss, but she was sure if she focused she could finish her speech. “All parts of an ecosystem are important. If you lose one, the rest will eventually follow. Sea turtles are part of two ecosystems, the coastal system and the marine system. Sea turtles, especially green sea turtles, are one of the very few animals to eat sea grass. Like normal lawn grass, which is the breeding ground for most marine life. Sea grass needs to be constantly cut short to be healthy and help it grow across the sea floor.” She dropped her glass, the pain now too much for her to bare as she clutched her stomach. Everyone’s eyes widened in unison as Clara wailed out in pain.
Kurt began rambling in German, filled with excitement, roughly translating to “Oh my God it’s time! I’m going to be a father!
“Uhhh… ladies and gentlemen it seems that our woman of the hour actually has an ambulance to catch…” Tamara blurted out as she left Warren’s side to aid Kurt in supporting the very soon to be mother. “But there is plenty of information on the auction tables and please enjoy!”
~ ~ ~ ~
Hours later after a grueling labor Clara sat up in her hospital bed finally holding her sleeping baby as its small thin tail wrapped around her arm. There had never before been anything she found so perfect. Kurt smiled down to his daughter, hologram off, he wanted her first vision of her daddy to be the real one. And then she opened her eyes. They were a brilliant gold just like her father’s, set in pale skin just like her mother’s. “Hey there beautiful! Welcome to the world!” Clara was beyond exhausted but how could she sleep when she had this perfect little thing to look at?
“What a perfect little Mauschen.” Kurt whispered as his three fingers brushed gently over the infant’s bare head before giving it a soft kiss.
“So is that her name?” Tamara asked as she leaned in the doorway, a small bag with food she set aside for the parents dangling from her fingertips.
“No. Her name is Beatrix.” Clara smiled up to her friend.
“It means blessed traveler.” Kurt added as he reached over to give Clara a proud kiss. In this moment life couldn’t be any better, and neither could think of anything in the world that could ruin it for them ever again now that she was in the world.

Hurricane Clara Chapter 12
Read it all here
The past few months had been wonderful. The warming of the air paired with the swell of joy in Clara’s heart not only for the new life growing in her but also for the old friend she had been reconnected with. It was a shame that Tamara didn’t have a place in the mansion, mainly because she wasn’t a mutant. But Warren made sure she was comfortable, and had lodging close by. She was, however, granted access to the mansion grounds and the ability to move around the school freely to help her friend with anything she needed. Though the two did make time to hang out together and catch up on old times Tamara’s time was mostly held by the winged Worthington and the charity that brought the islander to upstate New York in the first place. Though the girl found herself mesmerized by his ability to fly maintained a level of professionalism, especially once learning his reputation. But like so many before her she just couldn’t deny his boyish smile and charms.
Clara sat in the warmth of the spring sun, under a blooming tree loving the returning warmth. The air was fragrant with budding blooms as Clara mulled over the speech that she had been putting off for the sake of her rest. Kurt hung by his tail from the branches his three thick fingers holding onto either side of Clara’s ever growing stomach. She giggled uncontrollably as Kurt delivered sweet soft kisses to her belly, whispering terms of endearment in german to the baby inside.
“Don’t worry little one, your daddy might be crazy, but I’m sure you’ll still love him just the same.” You teased rubbing your belly, enjoying every kick in response to your voices.
“Crazy for you and this little Mauschen.” Kurt replied with a blissful grin, reaching up and giving her a kiss before flipping down from the tree.
“Hey love birds!” The bronze islander called out, her hair tight on the top of her head in her loose braids falling loosely over her ears and neck, the dark locks dancing behind her ears in the wind. Her arm waved and a smile graced her face as she rushed over the vast grounds to the two of them. “I think I found a venue for the benefit.” Breathing deep out of breath as she got to the parents to be she held onto a low hanging branch. As she spoke a small shadow passed over the ground, above Warren’s large wingspan could be seen, the only white in a cloudless sky. A shy impish smile grew over Tamara’s lips as her soft brown eyes glanced up to see him watching from above. Her heart skipped a beat everytime she saw him above her like that, remembering the rush of joy he showed her in flight. “Warren is taking me to see it tonight. Do you want to come with us?”
Clara looked up from the paper, half filled with words, her feelings on her home and the turtles that can be found there. She knew that smile on Tamara’s face, she knew what her friend was fighting her heart from feeling. Clara just smiled, leaning against the tree. “Why don’t you two just go out and enjoy yourselves?” She suggested as Kurt’s tail wrapped around her waist, the flat spear like tip resting on her belly, there was never too much when it came to him feeling the baby move.
Tamara’s jaw dropped. “Uhh but…” She stammered gesturing off into the middle of nowhere with her thumb. “But you and him…”
“Are ancient history…and almost friends.” She glanced up to the figure in the sky. “As weird as that is for me to say.”
“He made a mistake but he is still a good man.” Kurt smiled causing a soft blush to rise in Tamara’s cheeks. “And if ever there was a second chance, fraulein, it would you.”
“He and I were never really a good fit anyway. You, however.” She paused once more, cupping her hands around her mouth. “Hey Warren! Someone down here wants to go for a fly!” She hollered.
Up in the sky Warren’s attention was brought to the small group down below, his lips curled into a soft grin seeing Tamara before diving down to scoop the girl into his arms. With a surprised yelp and soft gleeful laughter she wrapped her arms around his neck, just making his smile grow as he watched her, whispering a soft “Don’t worry. I’ve got you. I’ll never let you fall.” The breath of his words were lost to the wind, but that didn’t stop the whisper from bringing chills down her spine.
~ ~ ~ ~
Later that night Clara was called out of bed by the Professor. Though he wished he had any other option for this he sadly did not. There was once again trouble on Genosha, the X-men were needed…however an electromagnetic field was currently set up around the island making entry by flights impossible. It was simple, minimal threat, all she had to do was pilot the boat to the island and wait. But only she had the nautical experience to safely get the team through the traitorous waters surrounding the island.
Of course Clara agreed, she’d never been to Genosha before, but it was an island, just how bad could it be really? As the small boat sped over the rough waves Clara finally once again felt at home with each spray of ocean mist as they cut through the water. She didn’t know the dangers she was delivering everyone to, and she didn’t want to know, she knew that if she did she’d feel more compelled to stray from the vessel to help. As the night grew late and the seas grew worse she began wondering if they were even going in the right direction…until she saw it. A spiring tower amidst a floating city, sparkling like the stars above. The site was almost enough to bring her to tears. Any remnants of what might once been island beauty was well hidden under the growth of development, it was a shame. She, however, was able to find one last remaining beach untouched by man or mutant to bring the boat into to watch the others rush off to their thrilling heroics.
Time seemed to slow to a crawl as she waited, advised to refrain from using her abilities while on the island lest she would attract unwanted attention. The baby in her belly stirred, different than before, she could almost swear it was uncomfortable, fearful. To sooth the child within she sat in the sand rubbing her belly singing to it the same soothing lullaby her mother used to sing to her, the song that went back in her family to long before the island they now dwelled on. She didn’t realize, however, that the baby inside wasn’t the only one listening. Two henchmen given the task of immobilizing the boat stood hidden behind the foliage. The attack was swift, her world went black before she realized.
She awoke to the return of the team some time after dawn, a large gaping hole in the boat and a face covered in sand. Her head was resting in Kurt’s lap, tears spilling down his cheeks. Her hand came up producing fresh water from the air to wash the sand from her face, swishing some of it through her mouth to make sure it was all gone from her lips. But as her mind emerged from the fog back into the conscious world she realized why her love was crying. His hands rested on her belly and she now realized there was no movement within. The sand on her face now made sense…she must have landed on her stomach. “Oh god…” She muttered realizing the situation. “No!” She sat up poking at her stomach, searching for signs of life inside. “NO!” She shrieked as Kurt wrapped his arms around her tightly.
The return to the mansion after any other mission would have been joyus, but not this time. Today the return trip was filled with a painful sadness. Clara just stood there, face blank as she watched the others patch up the boat which was to lead them to Beast flying the Blackbird just outside the electromagnetic field. Her arms wrapped around her stomach as she mentally shut down, no sadness, no anger, just nothing, she was empty. She walked the halls like a ghost, there but not as her mind processed the most horrific thing that’s ever happened to her.

Hurricane Clara Chapter 11
Read it all here
Clara sat curled up on her bed, feet tucked under her favorite fuzzy blanket, one hand clutching a pen, tapping on an empty paper that rested in her lap, the other playing with the turtle shaped charm that hung from her neck, the wood in silver giving the charm a rough elegance. Her large fluffy sweaters of winter had been replaced by a thick long sleeved shirt, the cup of coffee for warmth abandoned as the neering spring brought relief from the cold. This was the time of year she hated the most. Snow was at least pretty to look at. But the last late snowfall sat wet, quickly turning to slush under the sun to track inside, small icy traps to send chills up her spine. No thanks, she was quite content spending her lunch time in her room where the cold was nothing more than a threat from the drafty window, easily qualled by the humidifier and heaters she employed. Her mess of blond waves and curls made for the perfect cushion for her head to rest against her headboard as tired aqua eyes looked out the window, wishing for a faster spring.
Warren watched her from her door as she daydreamed, of a far off beach no doubt. He clung onto plastic bags filled with warm food that to her smelled like heaven. Though she wasn’t showing yet he was well aware of the life growing within her belly, Kurt made sure of that…though, Warren knew he didn’t mean anything by it. He probably would have done the same. His heart hung heavy in his chest, any hopes of winning her back long gone now. He had to admit though, the ring he chose was perfect for the aquatic soul that was Clara.
“So are you working on names or the menu?” He teased as he pulled chinese take out boxes out for Clara. He only could assume that the request for sweet and sour chicken was a result of her condition, considering the look on her face the last time she even so much as looked at Chinese food when they were still dating.
“Hmm?” Her attention snapped back into reality as her aqua blue eyes hung heavy. She rubbed at the dark bags that sat under her eyes, a soft shade of red now sharing space with the watery tones of her eyes. If there was ever a photo next to the word Tired in the dictionary it would look remarkably similar to her now.
“Oh! Wow! Umm, are you alright Clara?” His eyes grew wide at the the dark circles, though he had to admit they were gradually sneaking up on her over the past week or so. But now they were obvious. “Maybe we should skip planning today and you should just get some rest…”
“Jerk.” She answered flatly, with almost a hint of a smile as she reached out for her food.
“Oh come on now Clara! How is that even called for? I just went all the way across town to the shottiest Chinese Buffet you could have thought of for your lunch and I’m a jerk?” He protested as he held the food away from the girl, knowing full well she wouldn’t get up for it, for fear of the floor being cold.
“Okay, first of all, that food tastes much better than that five star small portioned place you took me to…Their chicken wasn’t even breaded.” She protested as she set the pad of paper asside to crawl to the edge of the bed in an attempt to get her food.
“My god woman you have such bad taste when it comes to food.” The worry gave way to a smile and a small almost laugh as he held out a hand to hold her back, remembering the fun they used to have goofing around. “Why am I even trusting you with the menu for this
“Oh I don’t know, maybe because I was talking about the chicken. Now gimme!” She teased as she attempted to swat the hand away so that she could finally eat. Warren’s smile brightened watching her, his heart skipping a beat before finally letting her food down to where she could get it. “What’s the matter with you getting between a pregnant girl and her food? You want to lose an arm or something?” She dug in fast and ferocious, like she hadn’t seen food for weeks.
“That’s all you could come up with? Just jerk chicken?” He sunk into the chair at her desk, as he stared at what would never pass for food in his world.
The two traded ideas back and forth, Warren trying hard to remember the meals he ate while on the island. At least they could both agree a tropical theme would be appropriate for a Sea Turtle Conservancy event. But soon the time passed and his was up. Though she didn’t want to leave the warm comfort of her bed the soft chiming of her phone’s alarm told her that she needed to get back down to the danger room to teach a bunch of the kids how to handle a boat…It was the best she could offer in ways of training. This was quickly followed by a private cooking lesson with Gambit, her attempt to actually make something edible for her fastly approaching family . Then dinner, then the laundry duties she had signed up for followed by movie time with Kurt who after would watch her stress over the speech she had to give at the benefit until the wee hours of the morning.
Her day started all over again with the harsh buzzing of her alarm telling her it was 8:30, time to get up and get to morning training. Still yawning she rode her board through her own waves of a small stream through the air, through a pre-programed obstacle course. Though she couldn’t stop yawning and wished that she could just have some coffee Clara was all too excited about today. Hank and Forge had been working on a special skimboard just for her, one designed to hold up in combat. Today was the day she’d get to test it out. Hank smiled proudly at the work he’d put into it with her own board as reference. He couldn’t wait to see how the combination of metals and fiberglass held up and more importantly, would it float? The month’s practice with this technique definitely paid off, flipping through rings and spinning to avoid projectiles. The board worked like a dream, the smoothest ride through the course yet…until things started to look a little fuzzy….Clara could swear there was only one hoop there last time… The proud smile on Bobby’s face as he watched her run the track slowly began to droop and fade as he watched her wobble and finally fall. With wide worried eyes Bobby did the only thing he could do to help her from across the room, he knew she’d hate it, but he outstretched his hand, forming an ice slide under her.The sudden chill along her back snapped her eyes wide open, fully alert once more as she gave out a short loud displeased shriek of surprise.
“What happened?” He asked, his icy blue eyes still wide with worry over his friend. “You were doing so well.”
“I…I don’t know.” She answered as she rubbed some left over sleep from her eye. “I just blinked and a everything was just…” She paused for a long drawn out yawn. “Just went fuzzy.”
“Clara, how much sleep have you been getting? With your hormones acting as they are it’s no surprise that you would be feeling a little more drained than usual.” Hank offered as he checked her over, searching for any possible injuries.
“Umm…I’m not sure. Five or six hours maybe?” She answered as truthfully as she could. “I’ve just been so busy. There’s hardly enough hours in the day.”
“Clara.” Hank scolded. “Your body is going through alot right now, your baby needs you to rest more. I highly suggest you lighten your schedule a bit or you may end up hurting yourself or your child.” She nodded, fully understanding the severity of his words.
~ ~ ~ ~
One Week Later
Warren adjusted the suit that hid his bound wings, finding it just as uncomfortable as he last remembered. Kurt followed behind, his true form hidden under the hologram of his image inducer as he looked from the pamphlet up to the sign “ Cayman Turtle Farm”. The air held a salty sweetness to it as the breeze gave both the mutants relief from the discomfort their mutations found in the island heat.
“So Clara’s friend is a farmer?” Warren asked raising a brow.
“Nein. It’s a research and conservation center.” Kurt corrected, taking the information right off the pamphlet given to him by Clara’s mother. They each could feel their stomach growling as they made their way through the main gates, forgoing the tourist attraction to go strait to the main building which held the gift shop, and hidden off to the side a few small offices.
Warren knocked on the door with the name Tamara by it. A muffled voice of a mouth filled with food welcomed them to open the door to come in. The girl sat eating her lunch at her desk as she leafed through paperwork. Her bronze skin seemed to glow, a much deeper shade of tan than Clara could ever hope for, her long dark hair was pulled off her face by tight small strait braids that fell loose at the crown of her head, falling in soft elegant almost curls down her neck. Both her wrists were adorned with hemp bands and shell bracelets, a shark tooth hung by a leather cord from her neck. Soft dark eyes looked up from her salad and paperwork to the boys as a smile grew on her lips. “And what can I do for you gentlemen?” She asked as she set the paperwork down. Warren ran his fingers through his blond tresses, his mouth suddenly dry, his words lost.
“I’m Kurt, this is Warren. We’re here on behalf of Clara.”
“Oh so you’re the one who got my girl in the state she’s in.” Tamara rose from her seat looking over Kurt, deciding he was alright for her friend. “Which would make you…” Warren closed his eyes, bracing himself for another verbal lashing, used to it by now thanks to Clara’s fiery spirit working with her hormones against him. “My guardian angel! Mr. Worthington I can’t thank you enough for all the donations. Please let me give you a personal tour, show you all the good you’ve done.” Warren blinked with surprise….did Clara not tell her? Why was she being so nice when all Clara could do was yell at him for his past mistake?
Later that night Warren still wasn’t sure how he found himself in the seaside restaurant watching the setting sun along with the lovely girl Clara had sent him to fetch but there he was, enjoying a beautifully prepared meal with a woman that just looking at her seemed to make his heart stop. Was this what heaven felt like?
“You know, you really should be taking notes.” She half teased as she smiled up to Warren. His sky blue eyes traveled from the menu up to her, lost and confused. “Clara said you wanted a Caribbean theme to your benefit. This,” she held up the menu, “is what you’ll be aiming for.”
So this was a business dinner. Okay, at least he knew how to handle a business dinner. He did as he was told, taking pictures of the menu and decor of the restaurant, but as the night went on and the two laughed and joked and shared stories he began to wonder if his initial assumption was still correct.
The stars sparkled in her eyes as the two walked along the old beat up roads to her home. “I can’t wait to go.” She confessed with a smile as her eyes wandered up to the stars.
“Yeah, I’ll bet you miss your friend.” Warren answered, still trying to determine what was going on with the two of them tonight.
“Well, yeah… But I’ve never been in a plane before. Islands like this everyone is all about sailing…All I’ve wanted to do is fly.” Warren’s lips curled up into a smile hearing this. “Always wondered how it would feel.”
Warren stopped in his tracks looking up to the stars, more beautiful and vibrant then he’d ever seen back home. “I…I could show you.” Tamara looked back to him with a brow raised, not quite following. “…Did Clara not tell you?” He asked with a chuckle as he unbuttoned his shirt, letting it fall to the ground. The skin under his leather binds were red, irritated from the roughness in the heat. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped in astonishment. He couldn’t help laughing at the reaction. “May I?” He asked, stepping closer to her as he removed the straps, letting his wings get a good long stretch after being confined all day. She nodded with a smile before he scooped her up in his arms, taking to the sky. Clara would have never let him do this…she was too scared of flying. Tamara laughed with excitement as the wind danced through her hair and whipped against her face. Though she was confined to his arms she never felt more free, more alive. He watched her as they flew, he could swear he’d never seen anyone happier.

Hurricane Clara Chapter 10
Read it all here
The morning came much later when the wind blew cold and the sun didn’t warm while it brightened the sky. But in the danger room eternal summer could be achieved with the touch of a button. Bobby watched as she forced water streams over the ground and through the air, taking a deep breath as she gripped her skimboard tight, not sure if she was ready for this. “It’s cake Clara. You got this.” With their powers being so similar it was only a matter of time before she’d ask him to teach her how to use her power to increase her mobility. It proved a bit more difficult than she figured…ice might be water, but she didn’t take into account solid vs liquid. Today was their first test with the added element of the skimboard she used for a pastime. A false wind blew a stray strand of hair out of her tight bun, dropping into her eyes as she ran along the stream for a moment before dropping her skimboard down and jumping on as if she were going to ride a shallow wave. And like that she was off, her mutant made waves guiding board through the air. Her smile brightened as she bent down just long enough to duck under a small water bridge she made for herself before jumping up with a spin, jumping from one stream to the next.
Bobby applauded as the spin gave Clara a queasy feeling in her stomach she just couldn’t ignore. Losing her concentration she first wobbled then fell, the water raining down over her as the contents on her stomach spilled from her mouth onto the ground. “Oh god Clara, are you alright?” Bobby asked as he rushed to her side to help her up.
“Yeah…Sorry. I don’t think breakfast is agreeing with me.” She insisted as she took his hand to get up.
“Hey it happens to the best of us. We’ll try again tomorrow.” Bobby comforted with a smile as he gave her back a soft rub. “You got time to rest today or is Warren working you to death with this charity thing?” He wasn’t too thrilled with the idea of the two of them being friends, he didn’t trust Warren with her one little bit.
“Yeah, I think I’m going to go lay down.” She answered with a nod as the hologram of the danger room turned off and she grabbed herself a towel. Bobby smiled, promising he’ll send Kurt up to check on her. As she made her way up to her room she suddenly realized just how tired she really was, thanking the heavens when she finally made it to her bed. As she crawled in she tapped the play button on her ipod, relaxing into the sounds of 90s hits as she buried herself into the heavy blankets and fluffy pillows. As she rested she began to think all was right with the world once again…must have been some bad eggs.
BAMF
“Hey there Liebling. I hear you aren’t feeling well.” Kurt offered a soft smile as he set down a bucket he snagged just incase she’d need it. As the smell of the sulfur hit her nose she felt her stomach turn once more, barely having time to reach for the bucket before filling it. “Oh my poor Liebling.” He cooed before climbing into the bed with her to give her soft cuddles. As the smell faded from the room her stomach once again settled and next thing she knew she was sleeping in his arms, a wonderful, long morning nap.
She woke hours later to find that Kurt had left, leaving a note that read ‘I had to go for a training session with the children. If you are still feeling badly when you wake I’ll head out to get you some medicine.’ and ended with a heart. Clara smiled as she took a long stretch, deciding that she felt much better…Maybe all she needed was some rest.
Clara: I’m feeling much better now. Thank you sweetheart.
Kurt. Glad to hear it. Want to go see a movie tonight?
Clara: Sounds great!

Kurt was excited to finally get a chance to go out with Clara again. Warren had been taking u all her time with organizing that charity event. But he really couldn’t fault her for it, it was for something she truly loved and he was glad to see her out and doing things in the winter weather. Clara was never one for fashion. Her idea of getting ready for a date was as simple as a white fluffy sweater, jeans and pulling a knit cap over her golden mess of waves and curls to hide how untamable it was.
BAMF
“Ready?” He asked with a fanged grin. But then once more the smell of the sulfur hit her and there went her dinner. Kurt’s grin quickly faded seeing this. “Okay, I think it’s time we go see Hank about this. Valentine’s day was only a few days away, he wanted her feeling well enough for what he was planning.
“I was feeling fine until…” You trailed off, slowly feeling your stomach settle as the smell faded.
“Oh no! You’ve become allergic to me.” He joked stroking her arm. “Don’t worry. I’m sure it’s nothing to be worried about. Do you feel well enough to walk or shall I teleport you?”
She nodded slightly as she wiped away a bit of dribble from her chin. “It might be better to teleport me…” She answered, grabbing the bucket and clutching it tightly just in case.
BAMF - vomit
“Oh deer, what have we here?” Hank looked up from his research.
“It’s the weirdest thing… I feel fine but then I’m suddenly vomiting.” Clara explained as she set the bucket down, deciding to trust her body before telling him her other symptoms.
“Well, without any tests it sounds to me like you are suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum.” He paused adjusting his reading glasses over his furry blue face. “More commonly referred to as morning sickness.”
Hearing this Kurt choked on the air. “Morning sickness?!”
“But that means…” Clara’s hands came to her belly, feeling it gently as so looked it over with a happy amazement in her eyes.
~ ~ ~ ~
After a confirmation of a pregnancy test the news traveled fast throughout the school. Kurt made sure of it. He was over the moon as he teleported from room to room making the announcement that they were expecting. It wasn’t until halfway through that it hit him that he was now going to have a child out of wedlock and the reality came crashing down on him that someday needed to happen sooner rather than later in order to avoid such a thing.
The plan was simple…all the groundwork was already there with valentine’s day. The night was already perfect. Now he just needed to sneak out to get a ring. Between Warren and Bobby it should be easy enough to get out of the mansion without her noticing.
~ ~ ~ ~
The day finally came and he was a mess. He hated not being able to teleport around Clara, that being the main trigger for her morning sickness. Having to take the time to walk built his nerves up all the more. At least he had found a nice mutant friendly restaurant where he could be himself throughout all of this. He could barely put sentences together by the time the were out to dinner, she just found it all too adorable. She didn’t know what was going on, but she could tell something was up. All throughout the eal his tail dug into his pocket, feeling the ring box. He was sure he picked the perfect one. No diamond, it wasn’t Clara’s style, besides, a goddess of water such as her needed something more fitting a small humble pearl nestled between two gemstones with the same aqua blue of her eyes.
Tumblr media
When the time came he couldn’t even form words. His mouth was dry and his palms were moist with sweat through his fur. This was a day he never dared dream would come yet hear it was. “Clara…I…umm..”
She just chuckled as she rested her chin in her hands, dying to know where this was going to go. She couldn’t remember the last time Kurt stumbled over his words for her. “Yes Kurt?”
“Clara I need you to know that you are me everything. I never want to live a day without you. Your smile lights up my life…you’re the sweetest person I’ve ever met. And I couldn’t be happier that you will soon be the mother of my child. There’s just one thing missing.” His tail pulled the box from his pocket as he spoke, hiding it behind his back.
“And what’s that?” She asked feeling her heart speeding up, as she scooched to the edge of her seat, now very sure where this was going.
“Be my wife?” He asked his voice nervously dipping as his tail set the box down on the table, opening it slowly for her. The pearl seemed to glow in the candlelight, the stones shining light blue reflections dancing on her skin as her jaw dropped and her eyes brightened.
She could feel happy tears welling up in her eyes as she nodded. “Yes! Of course!” She cried out as she got up from her seat, needing the feel of his lips against hers and his arms around her waist.

Hurricane Clara Chapter 9
Read it all here
Kurt moaned as he tossed and turned looking both at bliss and in torment as he slept. Ever since Grand Cayman his dreams were filled with visions of Clara like never before. Sharing the hotel room had proven to be much more than he bargained for. Where used to be swashbuckling adventures with him and his love now were images of the beautiful bits of skin he glimpsed while she showered and the feel of her breath against his skin. It was so beautiful, so perfect, so sinnful. He imagined the sensations he never felt before as his dreams ran wild with the lustful thoughts of the woman he loved most. The harsh cold weather outside didn’t help matters for poor Kurt much either. Clara’s favorite winter pastime was now snuggling into Kurt’s fur for warmth. She might now be in thick fluffy sweaters but he now knew what was hiding underneath.
Clara sat by the kitchen window watching the kids having fun outside with a blissful smile on her face as she clutched her cup of coffee for warmth. Her skin still held the hint of Caribbean sun despite the goosebumps the chill of winter gave her. As Warren slowly walked into the kitchen, wings folded neatly behind his back, he couldn’t help smiling at the beautiful blond, his only true regret in life.
“You want to know a secret?” Warren asked with a smirk as he poured himself a cup of coffee to join her, just glad for the fact that she was letting him even close to her again.
“What’s that?” She asked as she turned her attention away from the children enjoying the winter wonderland.
“No one likes the cold. Not really. People might say they do, but they don’t. They just like what the cold brings.” Clara raised a brow in confusion to him as she held onto her mug tightly for warmth. How Warren loved that look. He chuckled a bit before gesturing to the window. “Fun… I mean really Clara, have you ever actually built a snowman? Or been part of a snowball fight?”
“No, I suppose I haven’t.” She answered with a shrug before taking a nice long sip of her coffee.
“You really should try it. It makes the cold a lot less horrible.” He flashed her a charming smile.
“I think I’ll stick to watching from a nice warm room. You know as well as I do that I wasn’t built for the cold.” She answered a bit scornfully, still bearing some resentment over what he did to her. The tone of her voice cut through Warren like daggers, but it wasn’t anything less than what he expected of her considering the pain he put her through. He nodded through the pain, just standing there awkwardly for a moment, wrestling to find words to ask her the one thing that brought him to her today. “Okay, well if there’s nothing else I think I’ll be going to make sure Kurt is awake…We’re going to be doing some training later.”
“Actually there is.” He blurted out before reaching a hand out to her only to immediately draw it back, reminding himself that she wasn’t his anymore. “I’ve got this benefit thing…and I was kind of wondering if you would be interested in going?” He asked sheepishly, his eyes closed, bracing himself for yet another verbal lashing.
Clara’s jaw dropped as she stared at Warren in disbelief. “You are actually asking me on a date… I can’t believe you!”
“No! No! Not like that. I mean…Yeah, I wish like that but that’s not why I’m asking.” Warren insisted, holding his hands out innocently. “Worthington Industries picked up a few new charities to fund and well…I need some help.” He trailed off as he pulled out her invitation, her name engraved on the nice paper, the logo for the Sea Turtle Conservancy. As she stared at the paper Kurt made his way into the kitchen, his indigo hair a mess as his six thick fingers ran through it, trying to rid his mind of the thoughts of the dreams he had the night before. “You’re the perfect fit. Please say yes…”
“Warren…I…I don’t know what to say…” She stumbled over her words looking from the paper in her hand up to his angelic face, smiling, just happy to see her so happy. Kurt’s golden eyes snapped up, still only half awake as he heard the wrong end of the conversation between the former lovers. His heart fell as his still sleepy brain put all the wrong parts of the puzzle together, disappointed, he had thought that Warren would have been kind enough to respect their relationship after all that had happened over the holidays. But at least he knew his beloved better to know that she of course wouldn’t say yes. “Of course.” Her aqua eyes traveled up to Warren’s, amazed at him.
“Clara…How could you?” Tears instantly welled up in his golden eyes, his face quivering as he felt his heart shatter.
“Oh no…Kurt it’s not-” A puff of sulfur and a BAMF cut her off. “Shit!” She glared up to Warren, wondering if he did this on purpose to break them up.
~ ~ ~ ~
“Clara’s looking everywhere for you.” Warren stated calmly as he landed on the rooftop by Kurt who was crouched by the edge, watching the world go by him below through his tears. The sound of Warren’s voice, however, was enough to fill him with rage, the only response warren got was a growl and harsh eyes which looked genuinely terrifying paired with the fuzz of his face still wet with tears. “Kurt…please, listen.”
“Nein! You listen!” Kurt stood as he wiped the tears from his eyes. “Clara isn’t some prize. She isn’t a placeholder until something better looking comes around. She is perfect and much more than someone like you or me deserves!”
“Kurt…”
Kurt let out a sigh listening to himself, no matter how much he wanted to punch Warren for this he knew that he needed to be the bigger person, for Clara’s sake. “But she chose you and I will accept that.”
“You’re right. Clara is much more than I deserve. And that’s why I’ll regret what I did every day for the rest of my life…Because I’ll never have her back.”
“But…she said yes…Your perfect fit.” Kurt was now thoroughly confused.
Warren sighed as he reached into his pocket, pulling out another invite to the benefit, this one with Kurt’s name. “She said yes to helping me with this.”
Kurt took the small piece of paper between two of his large fingers. “Lieber Gott.” Kurt hung his head in shame. “Mein freund I owe you an apology. I’ve let my insecurities get the better of me yet again.”
“Yeah…what’s up with that? You’ve been much better about that ever since you and Clara. You guys aren’t having issues are you?” Warren sounded genuinely concerned for his friend as he wrapped his wings around him to shield himself from the icy winter winds.
“I’m just tired.” He crouched down into a more comfortable position for him, watching the morning sun light the freshly fallen snow. “I’ve been plagued with unusual dreams. Lustful thoughts.”
“Oh jeez Kurt…Is that all? Why don’t you just-” Warren cut himself off having remembered the answer to his own question. “Oh yeah…Catholic.” He let out a deep breath, knowing he’d hate the outcome of this no matter what it was. “Look Kurt, if you try to live your life lust free you’re going to drive yourself insane. Especially with a beautiful woman like Clara. And I get it…Sin. but if you’re going to marry her anyway what does it matter?” At least this way Clara would be happy.
Kurt had never thought of it like that before, it oddly made sense to him. “Thank you mein freund. Now if you’ll excuse me I believe I owe an apology to Clara as well.”
~ ~ ~ ~
Kurt found Clara waiting patiently for him in his room. She was somewhere between angry, sad and apologetic. Hearing the BAMF of him entering the room she rose from his bed, tears dropping from her angry eyes. “I’m so sorry.” was all Kurt could get out as he moved closer to her, colliding into a passionate kiss, melting away all of his insecurities, and all of her worries.
“I’d never…” She breathed out between kisses.
“I know. I’m sorry.” His arms wrapped around her hips, his fingers brushing just barely under her sweater. “You’re my perfect fit.”
Clara had understood Kurt’s religious beliefs, didn’t agree with them but did respect them and his choices regarding them. So despite how much she wanted to act on her own urges she had been patiently waiting for the time to come when he’d chose to. As the kisses became less sweet and more lustful she realized now was that time.

Hurricane Clara Chapter 8
Read it all here
Kurt watched the window excitedly, he couldn’t wait to see the island. And then there it was. He was lost in the beauty of it, captivated by the color of the water surrounding the tropical paradise.
Tumblr media
It was no wonder Clara loved the water so much! Growing up there he was sure he would have loved it too. “Clara it’s amazing!” Kust chimed out as he turned in his seat smiling to her brightly.
Clara, however, was facing strait ahead, staring very intently at the back of the seat in front of her. She hated flying, hated knowing the only thing keeping her in the air was a small metal tube, mere inches between her and the sky. No, if people were meant to fly they would all have wings. She had hoped the flight would go easier for her since she was going home…she was wrong. The only thing that had kept her even remotely calm throughout the flight was Kurt’s bright smile…it was a shame it was mostly hidden behind the hologram of his image inducer for the sake of the other passengers.
Once firmly on the ground Clara finally breathed a sigh of relief before stepping off the plane, arms wide open to greet the warm Caribbean sun like an old friend. She loved how the heat and humidity crashed down on her the second she stepped out of the recycled air of the plane. Kurt, however, felt like he was going to melt in this heat, and Clara could see that written all over his fake face. “Don’t worry sweetheart. Once we’re away from the air port the heat doesn’t seem so bad.“ She encouraged as they made their way from the plane.
“You think they’ll like me? The real me I mean?” He asked timidly as the two collected their luggage.
“Of course! What’s not to like?” She answered with a bright smile, grabbing a hold of his hand.
“Well with this kind of heat who knows…I might shed on the furniture.” Kart half joked as they made their way through the small island airport.
“Well it’s a good thing my grandma’s house has air conditioning.” She joked back with a smile. “Don’t worry Kurt, they’ll love you.” She assured him before her mother greeted the both of them with a warm friendly hug, happy her daughter was finally home, even if it was just for a little while.
~ ~ ~ ~
Clara was a bit more than disappointed to discover that her mother had moved out of her condo on the beach to live with her grandmother in the residential area of the island, but she definitely understood why. After-all, Grandma Ebanks was getting old, and the cost of the condo was probably too much for her without Clara’s income as well. But Clara wasn’t about to let that news ruin the trip. Sure the small family home didn’t have enough room for everyone but that just meant her and Kurt could have some alone time for once. Just a quick phone call back to the mansion and Warren personally took care of a room for the couple…all expenses paid by him as a gesture of the Christmas season.
Meeting Clara’s mother and grandmother went much smoother than the two had expected, even once he turned his image inducer off…Her mother thought that the young man before her was just perfect for her daughter, and her grandmother couldn’t stop commenting how adorable the young couple was. And the both of them were happy to hear of the powers Kurt possessed, insisting it would come in handy come Christmas Eve. But the day of travel was long and Clara had so hoped to take Kurt on a drive of the island to show him what Christmas on an island was really like, so as the sun went down on the island the two said their goodbyes.
Kurt and Clara were so exhausted they didn’t even bother to look around the room that had been booked for them, just curled up together in the soft king size bed and fell blissfully asleep in each other’s arms.
Clara woke the next morning to the sound of the waves and the warm Caribbean sun greeting her like an old friend she hadn’t seen in a long time. She rose just barely as she looked around the immaculate room that had been gifted to her. She’d seen this hotel from the outside many times before…she’d always dreamed of what it might look like on the inside but this was just glorious. The wall facing the ocean opened up onto a small private patio with the perfect view of the sea. A smile grew over her face as she felt Kurt’s arms wrap around her chest and shoulders, and his tail around her waist. It suddenly occurred to the both of them that last night was the first time they shared a bed, and they both loved how it felt.
Tumblr media
He kissed her cheek and down her neck as they both drunk in the unparalleled aquas of the Caribbean water against the whitest sand the island had to offer. “Wunderschön.” (beautiful) Kurt whispered as his golden eyes looked out to the sight that laid before him. “This is really where you grew up?”
She nodded with a smile as her hands came to rest on his arms. “Just a few miles down the beach…” She spun in his arms to look up into his eyes. “Come on love, I have so much to show you…But first…I want to get at some real waves!” She added excitedly before rushing to change into her bikini and grabbing her skim board. The two spent the morning playing in the ocean hollowed by an afternoon of Clara showing Kurt her favorite spots on the island.
The next few days of their trip the two spent their days seeing the island, making sure to partake in the Christmas island activities…seeing christmas movies and the 40ft Christmas tree at Camana Bay, finding Santa, along with activities at the house culminating in Kurt helping the family bring the white sand from the beaches surrounding the island to the front yard to make it appear as if it were covered in snow. Clara had explained to him that it was a tradition many of the locals partook in and could get pretty competitive as to who would end up with the whitest yard with the least footprints. Kurt now understood why the family was so excited about his powers…And of course the boat trip Clara had arranged for him. She was sure he couldn’t smile any wider as he bamfed around the ship looking like a mutant kid in a candy shop.
Once the holiday had passed by in a whirlwind of shiny paper twinkling lights and more tropical foods than Kurt knew existed it was once again time to rest and enjoy the island for a few more days before the new year would be rung in.
~ ~ ~ ~
New Year’s Eve
“Clara, where are we going?” Kurt asked for probably the 100th time that day. The sun was already setting over the horizon and he was starting to worry that the two might miss the New Year’s Eve party the hotel was hosting.
“I told you, it’s a surprise.” She insisted as the wind ran through her hair, tossing it about as she drove her old car up to the dock the boat this all started on was kept.
“But the party is starting soon. Don’t you want a kiss at midnight?” He asked in a playful voice as he climbed out of the car looking over the docks as they slowly fell into the shadows of the setting sun. He had to admit the sight was quite beautiful, he’d loved every single sunset he’d seen on the island much more than the last, never able to believe the next could top it only to find that the next night God would out do himself again with the colors he painted in the sky. But this one was so much different, all the workers had gone home for the day making it feel like this painting of golds oranges pinks purples and reds for just for the two of them.
“As much as I love the room that hotel and that party is so tourist…I’d much rather you see the way I always bring in the new year.” She answered as she found the Morskoy Kot. “You can turn that thing off sweetheart…It’s just the two of us.” She added with a smile as she readied the boat.
She took the two out far off the coast until all the lights of every hotel and beach party could be seen on the horizon and the stars were crystal clear in the sky. The ocean around them sparkled peacefully, reflecting the night, making it less like they were on the water and more like they had sailed right into the heavens. Clara smiled once she reached what she deemed to be the perfect spot and lowered the anchor.
“Now what?” Kurt asked as he leaned against the guardrail of the boat looking over to her.
“Now we wait.” She answered with a smile as she turned on the radio, finding her 90s mix was still in the cd player before sitting on the netting of the catamaran watching the tourists party on the beach.
“But how will we know when it is midnight?” He asked a little confused taking a seat by her, wrapping himself around her as he always did. She loved every time he took her in his arms, made her feel safe, warm and best of all loved, like he never wanted her to leave.
“Trust me.” She insisted as she leaned her head back against his chest. For hours the two sat in the sea of stars watching the lights of the parties on the horizon until finally the moment struck. A single pillar of light flew up from the island in the distance, exploding into a beautiful ball of colors raining back down into nothing. “Happy New Year.” She whispered as the first of the fireworks fizzled out, reaching behind her for her new year’s kiss. Then another pillar of light rose exploding in a new hue, and then another until the horizon lit up in a glorious display and Kurt realized that they were watching the fireworks displays from all over the island, something they’d never have been able to do if they settled for just the beach party at their hotel.

The perfect end to the perfect vacation.

Hurricane Clara - Chapter 7
Liebling = Sweetheart
Read it all here
Clara watched as the snow drifted down from the sky in thick white heavy flakes, sticking and freezing to her window as children balled up what was on the ground and threw it across the back property of the mansion in the distance. She couldn’t help smiling at the small puffs of sulfur smoke in the the midst of the snowball fight, sure Kurt was having a blast playing with everyone else out there. She might not like the cold very much but Kurt was lucky enough to have fur…in the back of her mind she wished he’d come inside and cuddle on the couch to warm her further, but she’d never dream of stopping him from having his own fun. With a sigh she drew the shades shut to block the cold from seeping in through the glass and turned the heat and humidifier up in her room. Though this year’s winter came slowly, creeping up from the edge of fall like a white wolf stalking its prey she still found herself having trouble adjusting to the bitter cold of winter.
Winter aside she really didn’t want to leave her room for as long as possible thanks to Warren Worthington III flying around the building. She hated him fully and completely for what he put her through, for cheating on her, and worse, for coming back after all of this time now that she was done with him. He was blond and beautiful and for some reason couldn’t get it in his head that she just didn't’ want anything to do with him anymore. Every time she opened the door to leave there was some new set of flowers or stuffed turtle there. She couldn’t take it.
BAMF
Clara’s room smelled of sulfur for just a moment as her fuzzy blue demon of a boyfriend teleported away from his snowball fight to warm up in the warmest room in the building. He was breathing heavily, exhausted after all the snow themed fun. Kurt has been wonderful about this whole thing. No matter how hard she searched Clara couldn’t find a hint of jealousy on his adorable blue face. Kurt knew there was no need to be.
“”You want me to take care of any gifts he left this time on my way out Liebling?” He asked with a fanged smile as his yellow eyes looked up to his love. He couldn’t help finding her fuzzy blue sweater adorable.
“Ugh! Please.” She responded as she grabbed her favorite turtle blanket and wrapped it around Kurt to help him warm up all the faster.
“Well, at least come downstairs to help set up for Christmas?” He asked as he wrapped his arms around her, careful to keep his hands above her fluffy sweater to keep the cold off of her. “There will be a fire and hot coco.” Clara couldn’t help laughing a bit as she wrapped her arms over him, Kurt just seemed to bring out the happy in her and when he was around even the iciest of days seemed a bit warmer. “And after we exchange presents…” He was all too excited to see the look on her face when he finally gives her the perfect gift.
“But Warren won’t leave me alone. It’s annoying.” She half pouted in a joking fashion. “And it’s warm in here.”
“Really Liebling. Can you blame him? He knows he lost out on the perfect girl.” He paused as his three thick fingers brushed against her cheek, going under the mess of blond curls instead of moving them the way that Warren used to. It might not have been chic but it was hers and that was all it needed to be perfect to him. “Besides, we’re exchanging gifts tonight, remember?”
Her ocean blue eyes gazed up into his golden orbs as he smiled with a fanged grin, obviously very proud of what he got her before she nodded reluctantly. “Okay, fine. But someone warn him that if he gets too close I’ll drown him.”
“Liebling.” He didn’t have to give the ‘we don’t use our powers against each other speech, his tone of voice did it for him.
“Okay fine!” She pouted playfully as she crossed her arms. “No drowning.”
~ ~ ~ ~
The large pine was already set up in the main common area of the school, lights and star placed on top by the angel that Clara wished would just go to hell. Currently he was soaring around the tall ceiling hanging long strands of garland. His crystal blue eyes were drawn to her, like a moth to the flame. Oh if only he could get her to talk to him.
Clara looked around the room and let out a soft sigh. She was sure for everyone else it was beginning to look a lot like Christmas but not for her. This time last year the whitest part of Christmas was the sand. But all of that would soon be remedied. Christmas was still a week away, long enough for her to hop on a plane with her beloved German elf for some time in the real Caribbean sun.
“Hey beautiful, what’s wrong?” Warren asked her as his wings folded behind him, his feet hitting the floor in front of him.
“Well, for starters? You’re here.” She snapped before turning her back to him to continue helping with hanging ornaments on the tree.
“Oh come on Clara… I know you better than that. What’s bothering you?” Warren asked as he rested a strong hand on her thin shoulders.
“You’re bothering her, Angel.” Bobby answered for her as he shoved his way between the two of them. “Seriously man. Haven’t you done enough to her?” As his brows drew together in anger a silence fell over the once buzzing room, the only sound to be heard was Kurt’s BAMF as he moved from across the room to Clara’s side. Most of the school knew what happened all those months ago, and they’ve been waiting for this showdown since Angel returned. She loved how protective her boys were of her, but she knew this was something she had to do on her own. As she spun around she placed one hand on each of her protectors’ shoulders signalling them to part to let her through.
“You cheated on me. You didn’t even have the courage to tell me. And now here you are months later trying to win me back with stupid bears and flowers outside my door. Did you really think I’d take you back? Because if so, you obviously didn’t know me very well. But then again I’m really not that surprised. You never listened to a word I had to say.” As she spoke, venting out all the anger and hurt he dealt to her when he broke her heart, pushing him closer and closer to the doors he had just decorated. “But you know what? In a way I guess I should be thanking you. I’m with Kurt now. And I’m not about to pull the kind of shit that you did because guess what? I’m happy! I love Kurt!” Hearing this Kurt couldn’t help smiling just a bit, it was the first time you said that. “I don’t want the bears. I don’t want the flowers. The only thing I want from you is for you to open those stupid bird wings and flap on out of my life.”
“But Clara! I-” He attempted to protest but Your mouth was too fast, cutting off anything he’d have to say.
“Seriously! How can you go around calling yourself an angel when you are such a horrific person? Bird! All you are to me is an annoying bird that sits outside my window.”
“Clara, please, just hear me out.” His eyes grew soft, her words stung, but he knew he deserved them, he deserved worse.
“Do I need to say it in your native tongue? Chirp Chirp just leave me alone!”
“Ok…I’m sorry.” Warren hung his head low as he turned towards the door to give her the space she was so vocal about wanting. “I’m sorry for everything I put you through. Just please don’t throw my christmas present for you out before you open it? It took a lot of work to find it. And I am sure you’ll love it.” She rolled her eyes as she watched her ex leave the gathering. Deep in the back of her mind she did feel a little guilty, she didn’t mean to chase him away from the rest of the festivities…But she was happy that he finally got some peace.
~ ~ ~ ~
Once all the decorating was done people started passing around gifts. Smiles and hugs filled the room…now THAT was something familiar about Christmas for Clara. But then again that’s probably something familiar about Christmas for everyone.
Clara smiled up to Kurt as he handed her the small box wrapped so perfectly. She wasn’t expecting anything much…there wasn’t much she wanted. But as she opened the box her eyes lit up brighter than the tree. Sitting inside, nestled snuggly among the soft tissue paper sat the remains of the small wooden turtle she used to wear like it was part of her body, until it broke the day Warren met Betsy. It was surrounded by silver, reforming the shape it once held only now it was far more beautiful.
Tumblr media
“Oh Kurt…Where did you…? How?” She held it close to her chest like a long lost friend found again. She never wanted to let it go.
“That day it broke I tried to give it back to you…Then I was afraid to…But it belonged with you, around your neck…So I had it fixed.” A slight blush formed on his cheeks, taking the form of more purple than pink due to his skin tone. His tail swished behind him, twitching just a bit nervously. “I…I hope you like it. They said there was no way they could fix it the way it was..”
Tears of joy welled up in her eyes, even if she wanted to be mad at him for keeping it from her all this time how could she when he restored it to the point it could always be with her. Her arms flew around Kurt, drawing him in close. “I love it. Thank you.” He smiled with relief as his arms and tail wrapped around her gently. He clipped the chain around her neck looking down at it as the wood carving finally sat where it belonged once more. “I love you so much.” She whispered gently before brushing a sweet soft kiss against his lips.
“I love you too Liebling.” He answered looking deep into her eyes with a smile.
Clara felt badly now. She just handed him a small card. For a moment his face dropped, after all the thought and work he put into her necklace all he got was a card? But when he opened it there sat inside a plane ticket and a post card.
Tumblr media
“What’s this?” He asked as he looked up to her.
“This is the Jolly Roger. A historically accurate pirate ship. I’ve chartered us a private excursion.” Clara explained with a proud smile as Kurt began muttering in German, his golden eyes now wide as dinner plates and a smile from pointed ear to pointed ear. His arms flew around her, this was the best gift he could ever imagine.
“Hey you two, I’d hate to break this up but Clara, you still have a gift to open.” Bobby interjected as he handed her the last gift.
It was from Warren. She was tempted to not open it. But with the spirit of the impending holiday she put that aside…he did after all say it was hard for him to come by, she may as well know what it was before she passed judgment. As she tore the paper away she saw an image of Santa on a windsurfer waving to her behind the clear plastic of a CD case. Anyone from Grand Cayman knew that image, that CD. It was a major part of her christmas as a child. ‘The Barefoot Man and Friends - Christmas on an Island’ She searched her memories for any indication she’d have given him…Once. She once told him about the singer when the two spent a night in watching The Firm during one of her homesick nights. How did he even get this in the states?
“Oh my God…” She muttered feeling horrible for the things she said. Without another word she dropped the CD rushing upstairs. She stood outside of his door for what felt like forever, not sure if this was the right thing to do. BAMF. The smell of Kurt’s sulfur wafted from behind her. She knew it well. “What should I do Kurt?”
“I think you should do what is right Liebling.” After all this time and the harsh words that Warren at dealt to him he still couldn’t bring himself to hate him. He knew he should, that it would be very justified. But who was he to pass such harsh judgement over someone? “Do you want me to stay?”
Clara nodded as she reached her long slender fingers behind her to find Kurt’s hand. “I think that’s a good idea…I don’t want him to get the wrong idea.” The fingers of one hand wrapped around Kurt’s while the other knocked on the door.
Warren opened the door, a soft hint of a smile forming on his lips when he saw Clara’s beautiful face. He didn’t even care that Kurt was there behind her. “You opened it.” Hope was glowing in his eyes.
“Warren…After everything you put me through there will never again be an ‘us’.” She backed up a step, having second thoughts about being here, but Kurt wasn’t about to let her back out on this now. His tail wrapped around her waist reassuringly. “But that being said…I’m sorry. For what I said…where I said it…”
“No…I deserved it. And I’m sorry…To both of you.” The more he looked at the two the more they seemed right for each other. They were the perfect fit. “I’m sorry for not telling you.” He looked up to Kurt. “And I’m sorry for what I said. That’s all I wanted to do. Apologize. Make things right with us. I may not be around much but we’re still on the same team. I know there’s not going to be anything between us Clara. You’re so much better than me.”
“Thank you for the gift…Second best I got today.” Clara offered with an almost sincere smile.
Warren’s eyes were drawn to the silver around her neck. “I can see what beat it. I’m glad you found it…I know how much it meant to you.” He held out a hand. “Friends?” He asked lightly with a half smile.
Clara backed up into Kurt, taking comfort in his support as she shook her head. “I’ll work with you…I’ll show you at least some respect…But I don’t think I’m ready to be friends.”
Warren’s hand balled into a fist as he drew it back, not so much out of anger, more out of disappointment. “Yeah…That’s fair.”
“But maybe….one day.” She offered with a shrug hoping that would ease the blow.
Warren nodded. “Yeah…one day. Look, you two enjoy your trip. I’m gunna…” He trailed off as he gestured inside his room before closing the door.

Huricane Clara Chapter 6
A/N: I know I mentioned something about a trip home for Clara…but this was just so beautiful and just poured right out! So Clara’s trip has been postponed till next time, sorry for anyone who was looking forward to it…but it’ll still happen
Read it all here
A few months passed and soon the warm heavy fragrant smell of summer had been slowly fading into the crisp earthy smells of autumn. And though Clara did tend to dislike the cold she couldn’t help falling in love with the vibrant colors of the leaves and the musky smell of the damp decomposing foliage on the ground underneath them. It was a shame she knew soon it would make way for the bitter cold of a northern winter. Bobby and Kurt both watched as Clara began spending quite a bit of time with the Multiple Man, Jamie Madrox before suddenly not. Though on multiple occasions the boys asked her about the brief romance she never did speak of it, just simply gave the same answer every time…”It wasn’t going to work out.” It wasn’t long after that he left the school to join with X-Force. From that point on she seemed to throw herself full force into the group activities with the three of them, of course, Kurt wasn’t complaining about the added time with Clara, who he was pretty sure was the girl of his dreams by now.
“Hey guys, there’s going to be a bonfire towards the back of the property tonight. Want to hit that up instead of the same ol’ movies?” Bobby asked with a coy smile. The other two were sure this had something to do with Northstar…Ever since he came out the two of them had been shamelessly flirting. Clara thought it was the most adorable thing in the world, Kurt, however, found it a little hard to wrap his head around considering Bobby’s long list of former girlfriends. But he also wasn’t about to judge his friend over something that made him happy.
“Umm…Sure…If Clara is down for it then I’m game.” Kurt answered with a toothy grin, his tail twitching behind him. Clara simply nodded in agreement, looking forward to pushing the two of them a little closer together. She was sure her constant nudging had at least something to do with whatever was going on there.
~ ~ ~ ~
Clara’s ocean blue eyes and still slightly tanned skin glowed warmly in the light of the bonfire as she sat down in a folding chair by a cooler of drinks. Her golden mess of waves and curls was held back into a messy bun at the nape of her neck, a few strands escaping to frame her face under the navy blue knit cap she wore to shield her head from the crisp cool night which was just stepping into the bounds of almost too cold for her liking. One hand hid in the front pouch of her ash gray hoodie which bore the logo of the school across the chest, the other hand loosely held onto a Segrams Passionfruit Mango, a bit grateful that they stocked the cooler with something other than beer, a taste she never acquired. A smile played on her lips as she watched her friend become increasingly more bold with Northstar, wondering if anything would pan out between the two as she talked to Jubilee Rogue and Gambit.
Though she was laughing and having fun chatting with some of other members of the team she didn’t see too often she couldn’t help but notice that there was a blue fuzzy dude missing. Kurt had been held up in Forge’s lab working on something special, something he was sure he’d need if he’d ever have a chance to step foot into the daylight outside of the school property.
“Alright Kurt, I think it’s done.” The Native American mutant announced triumphantly before tossing what looked to be a watch to Kurt. “Hit the button on the side, lets see if it works…Which it should, because I’m awesome.” He gloated before Kurt put it on and hit the side button as instructed, causing a holographic image of what Kurt would look like as a ‘normal’ person. Kurt looked himself over in the mirror Forge set up for him. “Anything you want to change? Eye color? Hair color?” The once blue furry demon like figure had been replaced by a pale guy of about the same build only with ten fingers and ten toes. Most everything looked the same…same hair cut, same facial features…just skin where fur should be and the once gold eyes had been replaced by a brilliant blue.
“No, it’s perfect!” He cried out triumphantly. “Thank you so much!” He added before BAMFing out of Forge’s lab to the spot that he was told the bonfire would be.
“Guess who?” Kurt said playfully as he covered Clara’s eyes.
The thing about holograms is they can’t hide the feeling of what was underneath, so Clara felt the familiar three furry fingers covering her eyes. With a chuckle she pulled the hands from her face and turned to face her friend. “I was wondering when y-” She found herself speechless when she saw the familiar yet not face looking down to her.
“Like it? Forge whipped it up for me.” He sounded so proud of the change as he crouched into a seated position by his favorite blond beauty.
Clara looked over the humanized Kurt, her face twisting, trying hard to look even a bit happy for her best friend simply because he seemed to really love this. “…Well…” She just couldn’t do it. “Honestly…No. It’s weird…Can you make it, umm, stop?” Confused Kurt turned the image inducer off, reverting back to his natural state as he looked up to his Clara, the one person he truly did this for outside of himself. She hated how crushed he looked. Letting out a sigh she set down her drink in the dirt before abandoning her chair to climb down into the dirt with him, wrapping a comforting arm around his shoulder. “Kurt, why would you ever want to change?”
“Honestly?” His golden eyes shimmered in the light of the fire, bringing out their beauty even more so than normal. Kurt was so wrapped up in feeling badly about the reaction he got that he didn’t even notice she was staring at them quite intently. Infact, he seemed to be rather oblivious about it ever since she stopped spending time with Jamie. Clara nodded in response, rather concerned for her friend by this point. “You.” He answered rather bluntly before looking up to find that her ocean like eyes were fixed on him and he began to wonder how long they had been like that.
Clara’s eyes went a little wide hearing the last answer she ever expected. “Me?”
Kurt looked over towards Bobby, who was too busy chatting up his object of interest to notice what was going on between the two of them. But in the back of his mind he recalled the words of encouragement from a few months prior. “Ja.” Was all he could bring himself to say at this point. His heart was racing just from her arm being around him. She still smelled of sunlight salt water and coconuts, she was intoxicating to him. He didn’t even notice the slight blush forming on her cheeks or the smile playing on her lips, he was too busy with his own insecurities now.
Clara wasn’t exactly sure when these feelings for her best friend started, but she knew they were there, growing. It was why she knew things wouldn’t work out with Jamie and why she had been fighting so hard for her trio to spend as much time together as possible. And now that she was sitting there in the cold wet grass with her arm wrapped around him, smelling the musky scent her fur held she wasn’t entirely sure why she’d ever thought of trying things with Jamie in the first place. Kurt was just comfortable, made her feel safe even now while she was the one comforting him. Somewhere between her first run in with him and now she discovered how perfect he was to her but still hadn’t found a way to approach it, sure he thought of her as just a friend until now the obvious was staring her right in the face.
“But…I’m a mess.” She whispered, heart skipping a beat. “And…And you’re adorable.” Hearing this Kurt’s eyes snapped up to Clara’s. His eyes were soft and full of hope hearing this. “And funny….and you were always there for me when I needed someone the most.” Clara’s words brought a smile back to Kurt’s lips, his tail wrapping gently around her waist. “I’d never want you to change.” She added as she rested her head against his shoulder.
Kurt moved so that he was sitting behind Clara, his arms wrapping around her, shielding her from the chill in the autumn night before finally having the courage to place a soft gentle kiss on her cheek.

Hurricane Clara Chapter 5
Read it all here
“Yeah but why haven’t you come out? I mean this is like the ultimate place of acceptance.” Clara hadn’t been able to drop the issue of Bobby’s sexuality. Not that she was having trouble accepting that he was gay, more that she was having a problem with such a big part of her friend’s personality being a secret.
“I’m just not ready Clara, that’s all.” He explained as the two of them set the pasta sauce and meatballs in the middle of the dining room table in preparation for dinner. She may not have a problem accepting who Bobby was but somewhere deep inside he still did. It was one thing to be a mutant, or to be gay…But to be both…It was still just too much for him to handle.
“It’s not like anyone here is going to look at you any different. You’re still our friend and we all love you.” She encouraged. “I mean, you can even get married now if you want to…” A smile played across her face as she perked up. “OH! Is there anyone you have a crush on?”
Bobby’s face grew pink at the question before looking up to his friend. “No…Now it’s time to shut up about this before I freeze your mouth shut.” He quipped with a smirk that made it hard for Clara to tell if he was joking or not.
~ ~ ~ ~
The dining room around this time of day has always been loud and crazy, students and X-men all trying to talk over one another to hold conversations with the person next to them. It may have been chaos but Clara loved it! It made her feel like she was part of a big family, and in a way that’s exactly how she saw the X-men…After All, they lived together, ate together, and shared in each other’s pain and joys, just like a family. But there was one person despite the free-for-all for food Clara couldn’t help notice one thing was missing. Clara was normally sandwiched between her two best friends, her clique, but there was no blue fuzzy dude by her side. Despite the disorder it made the meal rather boring.
Kurt had opted to skip dinner after seeing what he thought he saw in the kitchen. He just needed time to get his smile back and convince himself that he was happy for the couple he thought had become of Clara and Bobby. Why shouldn’t he be happy for them afterall? They were best friends….And he’s only been in love with Clara for months now.
Once the chaos had subsided and the dishes were cleared from the table Clara began to worry about Kurt, she’d never known him to miss a meal before. “Hey Bobby, I’m kinda worried about Kurt. I haven’t seen him since the pool. Did he say anything to you at all?”
“Nah I’m sure he’s fine. Probably just went out for pizza or something to avoid your cooking.” Bobby teased as they carried the piles of plates into the kitchen to be washed by some poor student who had been caught breaking the rules.
“Maybe I should go check on him. He didn’t seem to be in the best of moods earlier.” Clara mused before mouthing a silent I’m sorry to the student, feeling bad that they had such a harsh punishment.
“Didn’t I see your name on the list for danger room recreation for after dinner though?” Bobby asked, knowing exactly what her name was there for. Clara had set up a program to mimic the beach from her home, she loved to go there to practice with her skimboard.
“Yeah but I’d say this is a little more important.” She scoffed as she adjusted her ponytail.
“That rec time sheet is pretty full. You go ahead and practice with your board. I’ll check on Kurt.” Bobby suggested as he placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “I’m sure he’s fine…Besides, I wanted to check with him about what we were going to watch tonight anyway…We never did figure it out.” Bobby added with a crooked smile before pointing Clara in the direction of the danger room.
~ ~ ~ ~
“Hey Kurt, you in there?” Bobby asked as he knocked lightly on Kurt’s door.
“Ja , kommen in.” (Yes, come in) Kurt answered, his voice muffled by the door and the pizza he had shoved into his mouth.
Bobby couldn’t help laugh when he saw the half slice of pizza hanging from Kurt’s blue lips. “I can’t believe you actually got a pizza. Clara’s cooking is bad, but it’s not THAT bad.”
“Dude…last time she nearly burnt down the kitchen with pasta. Of course I got pizza!” He paused for a moment as he wiped the sauce from his mouth, finally looking up to the man he had thought won the heart of his beloved Clara. “Congratulations, by the way.”
Bobby raised a brow as he closed the door behind him. “On what? Surviving dinner?” He joked with a light smile.
“On you and Clara. I saw the two of you in the kitchen…” Kurt explained, not sounding entirely happy about what he saw. “You two could have told me you know. We are all friends after all.” He continued as Bobby scrunched his brow, trying to figure out exactly what the German was talking about.
And then suddenly it hit him like a ton of bricks. “Oh god! That?! No.” Bobby shook his head a bit as he laughed. “That was not what you thought it was. I promise.” He protested hands in the air.
“Oh come on Bobby do you really expect me to believe that?” Kurt raised a brow as he folded his arms over his chest, not letting the issue drop. “Clara is a beautiful girl…Smart…sweet…” Kurt’s face and voice both softened as he spoke about Clara.
Bobby’s smile grew a bit as he watched Kurt talk about the island girl. “You love her!” He chuckled. “Kurt. I promise, nothing is going on with me and Clara. But you should definitely tell her how you feel.” He advised as he sat on Kurt’s bed beside him.
“Are you kidding me? Look at her! I’m pretty sure she’s actually made of water and sunshine! A goddess like her belongs in the light, not in the shadows with the likes of me.”
“Yet she still stays up every night to watch movies with you.” Bobby encouraged with a smile.
“Ja, because she can’t sleep.” Kurt pouted as he tucked his legs into his chest.
“Dude, she hasn’t had trouble sleeping in months. Let her decide where she belongs. You and I both know when it comes to guys she a little clueless.”
Kurt chuckled in agreement. “Yeah..you got that right.” He let out a sigh picking up the wood turtle Clara had lost in the danger room. “I just don’t know how to tell her…I can’t even bring myself to tell her I found this.
Bobby clamped a reassuring hand on his friend’s shoulder. “You’ll find a way. Now come on.” Bobby got up off the bed.
“Where are we going?” Kurt asked with a raised brow.
“Clara was worried about you. She’s in the danger room practicing with her board thing. Let’s go show her you’re ok.” Bobby smiled to Kurt, watching him follow with a nod.

Hurricane Clara - Chapter 4
Read it all here
Tumblr media
Months had passed and Clara soon found herself sporting the summer friendly attire that she used to wear back home. As the weather warmed so did her spirits. She loved the way summer felt in New York, the sun on her skin felt different then on her island, not as strong but still just as warm, only half the humidity….even the flowers smelled different…she loved it. With summer finally here life was a joy. Her free time had been spent mostly outside, enjoying the summer sun, returning her skin to the sun kissed tone it once was. Clara had quickly become the school favorite for poolside fun. Nothing like a splash fight with someone who has control over water molecules!
Today Clara found herself in her blue bikini hiding under a pair of black board shorts. Clara had been laying by the edge of the pool, playing with the water with her fingers before spotting the muscled chest and soft brown hair of Robert Drake. “Think fast Frosty!” She called out as she pulled her hand from the water, forming an orb of water as she did, which with a flick of her wrist went flying toward Bobby. Seeing the attack he held his hands up to freeze the ball causing it to arch downward and meet the water close enough to still give him a good splash.
“Real cute Katara.” Bobby teased back, wiping the water from his face as Kurt laughed at the scene as he teleported above the pool to cannonball into the water close to Clara to do the same to her. Bobby had replaced Warren in your usual training sessions as of late to avoid tensions and the three of you have become rather close. Late night movies had started up again with Bobby tagging along claiming it was for the sake of team bonding.
Clara gave Bobby a quick wink. “Well what can I say? I try.” She teased in return as she moved her hands around to form small water flowers and dancing girls and anything else she could think of that he might find pretty. She’d been flirting with the guy for a few weeks now, but he just hadn’t seemed to notice.
Kurt however, had noticed, and it had just further solidified the idea in his head that he was unworthy of her. He floated on the water, his tail swishing back and forth under the surface to push him around in small circles as he watched Clara’s water art as he had come to call it.
“You’re getting pretty good at that.” Bobby cooed as he slipped his body into the water, swimming over to watch the show as well, treading water by Kurt.
“You know, I’ve been wondering what would happen if you were to touch one of these…” Clara thought out loud as she let her figurines fall back into the water they came from before forming a rose of water and pushing it through the air to the ice maker.
“I assume it would act like anything else of yours I freeze.” He answered with a chuckle as he made himself an ice raft to float on.
“Yeah, but I normally use water from the pool. This one’s MY water.” She then went on to explain that she was curious if his freezing it would effect her control over the water she had generated. With a sigh he agreed and tapped a freezing finger to the rose. Thanks to her water being free of impurities and already formed into the desired shape it froze much smoother than Bobby had ever seen before.
“This is amazing! I didn’t know your ice got so smooth!” Her aqua eyes were now gleaming with excitement.  And just as she thought, she was able to hold it up…it was heavy, and an obvious strain, but she was doing it!
“Neither did I.” Bobby agreed with a happy chuckle in his voice. “And check you out! Pretty soon they won’t even need me around!” He encouraged.
“Well it makes sense…they are like elements after all.” Kurt was more or less thinking out loud as he watched the two play excitedly with their powers. “It’s like you two were made for eachother.” He mumbled under his breath, a little disappointed, as he watched the two. He could swear the blue of their eyes even matched as he watched the two make a cloud by combining their talents. He really was happy for her, somewhere in there. But for now all he could see was another pretty face to get angry at the feelings he’s been hiding.
“Oh! Kurt!” The sound of Bobby’s voice shook him out of his thoughts. “I found this TV show from the 90s based off the story of Sinbad…It’s corny and campy…But it seemed like something you both might really like. You want me to bring it down tonight?”
“Oh! I used to watch that one back home! You’ll love it!” Clara chimed in with a smile as she swam away from the boys. “But for now I have to go dry off…I’m on kitchen duty for dinner.”
“Oh no! We’re all doomed.” Kurt teased with a splash…though he did have a point, she was a terrible cook.
“Kurt want to go out for a pizza with me?” Bobby quipped with a wink, though it was hard for the two of them to tell if it was at Kurt or Clara…Though Kurt was sure he knew it was for the beautiful Clara.
“Or you could help me…jerks.” Clara laughed as she climbed out of the pool, toweling herself off.
“Girl…You burnt pasta last time! How did you even get back on that list?” Bobby continued as he followed her, planning on helping for the sake of all the students.
“I’ll grab some pizza as a back up.” Kurt added as Clara stuck her tongue out at the both of them
~ ~ ~ ~
Clara watched the pot of pasta boil eagerly while Bobby worked on some meatballs. “I can’t believe you put yourself on this list again. This is the third time in a month I’ve saved you from poisoning the school.” He asked with a joking tone. “Not that I don’t mind helping you.” He added to make sure she was aware that he was just playing.
She shrugged as she watched the water, wishing her powers could make this go faster…or that he’d trust her with more then just watching the noodles cook. “Maybe I like spending time with you.” Clara admitted as she turned away from the pasta to see his reaction.
Bobby smiled lightly at the sentiment. “I like spending time with you too.” As the two talked Kurt stood behind the door to the kitchen, watching with pizzas in hand through a crack in the door, somewhere in the back of his mind hoping things don’t go the way she wanted them to.
The girl bit her lower lip as she moved away from the stove to Bobby to plant a soft kiss on his cheek. The two didn’t hear it but about now Kurt had teleported anywhere but there, not able to watch the scene go any further, his heart just couldn’t take it.
The gesture, however, was not one Bobby had expected at all. His eyes went wide as his back stiffened. “Oh…Clara…umm” He stuttered as he backed away. Clara’s brow rose at the reaction, it being the last one she’d expect from him. They worked so well together, both in and out of the danger room, and with all the time he’d been spending with her lately she had figured he must be returning her feelings….”Clara, I’m gay.” He explained like it was something she should have known.
“Oh! Oh my god I’m so sorry!” Her sun soaked cheeks began taking on a pink tone to them as she backed away from her friend, hiding her face in her hands. “I can’t believe I just did that!”
Bobby wiped his meatbally hands off with a chuckle before resting one on her shoulder in comfort. “Hey, it’s ok…It’s not like I’m overly out there about it or anything…Actually, I’m still for the most part in the closet about it.” This did make her feel a bit better in a strange way…maybe it was the level of trust Bobby was showing in her by telling her. “And we can still be friends right? Cuz, honestly I really like the time you me and Kurt spend together.”
“Oh of course!” She exclaimed before hearing the sizzle of water hitting the heat coils of the stove. “AHH!” She screamed as she rushed back to her station, realizing the pot of noodles was boiling over, causing Bobby to burst out laughing.
“See! You don’t belong in this kitchen!” He teased as he went back to work.
“Ok! I’ll stop signing up!” She exhaled in defeat, a little disappointed that she still couldn’t even get pasta right.

Hurricane Clara - Chapter 3
A/N: Since i’m sure the translations up here were annoying and confusing last time I’m from now on going to provide Kurt’s translations next to any German dialogue in ()s. Enjoy :)
Warnings: Pretty sure I used some adult language in this one

It had been close to two months since Clara came to the school mansion to train to be an X-man from her island home. She had finally gotten used to sleeping in the building, thanks in part to the ambient noise generator giving her by her ever caring angel like boyfriend, Warren, and in part to the blue fuzzy demonic elf of a mutant, Kurt, who over pirate themed late night movies had become her new best friend. Somewhere in the back of his mind Warren knew he was jealous of Kurt, but he really couldn’t understand why. He after all, was aware of how good he looked and that Kurt had to lurk in the shadows and hide from the general public. Clara, however wasn’t that shallow, she could see the light in his soul that sparkled through his yellow eyes like stars in the night sky…Besides, he helped her navigate the darkness of winter while Warren was off working when he could have just let her run on home. And Warren knew that. Somewhere deep down he knew Kurt was the better man and that threatened him.
Looking back Clara realized how silly it was of her to contemplate leaving. She’s learned how to do so much with her hydrokinesis, and has since she arrived earned the code-name Hurricane thanks to how hard her water blasts can hit.
“Still having trouble sleeping?” Warren asked with a slightly troubled voice as he looked over to Clara. He had saw her watching another movie with her buddy last night, no tea, no blanket and no intention of sleep in her eyes as she spoke with Kurt through the movie. He didn’t like these late night movies. He hated them. It was half the reason he outfitted her room the way he did, to stop this threat to his relationship.
“No. That noise machine you got me has helped a lot. Thank you.” She said with a smile, planting a soft kiss on his lips.
“Then why are you still up late with Kurt? I thought your little movie nights ended when I got you that thing.” He asked with a furrowed brow and an accusing tone.
“Because he’s my friend Warren. I have so few of those ever since i came here.” She answered in a slightly defensive tone before storming off to get suited up for training.
The sound of a BAMF and the smell of sulfur told Warren that the blue one who had been stealing time with his girlfriend was now behind him. Not feeling like the issue had been solved Warren folded his wings tightly to his back and spun to face him.
“What exactly are you up to with Clara?” Warren’s voice was low as he looked down to the blue one. “She sleeps fine now. It’s time for you to back off my girl.”
Kurt put his hands up defensively. “Nothing mein Freund (my friend). Clara and I just share similar tastes in movies. I guess it reminds her of home? Just you’re gone so often with your company the girl needs a friend and I’m more than happy to help.” Kurt remembered how hard it was for him when he first showed up, he wouldn’t want anyone to go through those feelings.
“I’m not blind Kurt. I see how you look at her.” Warren responded in an almost threatening tone.
“And how is that?”
“A girl as pretty as her would never go for a demon like you. She hates the cold. You think she’s really going to spend the rest of her life in the shadows with you when she can fly to the sun with me?” Warren’s words stung Kurt deeply.
“Everyone,” The Professor’s voice rang over the speakers in the room, “we have a new recruit today. Say hello to Betsy  Braddock, also known as Psylocke.” He said as the girls made their way into the room
Warren’s eyes went wide as he looked up from his conversation in the danger room to see the raven and violet haired exotic beauty saunter into the room for the first time. He watched her like he was watching a dream come to life. And in a way he was. He knew the face, she was a model, and at one point a pretty high profile one at that. His father had been inviting her Worthington functions for a few weeks now if nothing else for the publicity it would bring the company that seemed to run everything. He’d seen her from afar and now there she was standing right in front of him. It was like the world had dropped out from under him.
The training session was a blur of robots and other things trying to harm the team who was hardly working as a team. Clara didn’t have Warren’s back, Warren didn’t have Kurt’s back and Betsy was acting as a free agent. All that can definitely be said was the training session was a huge failure, and at one point the small wooden turtle that had always been around Clara’s neck had been broken by a psyblade. It was that close call at Clara’s life that the training session was cut short. They all felt pretty ashamed of themselfs by the end of the scolding Xavier had given them. It wasn’t until after that Clara had realized she was unable to find the wooden charm that used to adorn her neck.
“What’s wrong babe?” Warren asked as he wrapped Clara up in his arms as they sat on the couch in the common room. “I’ve never seen you this upset at a danger room session gone wrong before.”
“My turtle broke.” She answered with a pout, holding the hemp rope with just a wooden shard dangling from it now, ready to fall out of the loop that held it any moment.
“Oh babe! Is that it? I’ll get you a new necklace…One that looks better then that ratty old thing.” He replied as he kissed her neck where the choker used to lay only to be pushed away…something she had never done to him before. The action was shocking to him. He wasn’t used to being told no by girls in any fashion.
“I’ve had that ratty old thing since I was eight! My dad gave it to me. It was special.” Tears were welling in Clara’s eyes, making them surprisingly more beautiful then before. The worst part was Psylocke didn’t even apologize…knowing how special it was or not the bitch still nearly took her life and broke her property. Having had enough for the day she pushed herself off the angel who wasn’t acting very angelic at the moment to go to her room to sleep this rotten day way.
When it came time for late night movies Kurt made his way down to the common room as usual, a small wooden object cradled in his hand. He had caught the charm when it flew off, but didn’t want to risk another run in with Warren in the danger room. He’d asked weeks ago about it, he knew how much it meant to Clara and knew it should be returned. But when she wasn’t there he figured Warren was right. With a sigh he pocketed the turtle and went back to his room.
~ ~ ~ ~
Two weeks later Clara wandered through the halls of the mansion, reveling in the warmth of the sun pouring in each window she passed. The snow was beginning to melt and Ororo had promised her that she’d allow her to help with work in the gardens out back in the next few weeks. But for now she’d have to wait until the last of the snow melts away. But for now she was attempting to find Kurt, worried about him, she hadn’t seen him since their last danger room session together… Not even for late night movies.
As her bare feet silently moved over the smooth wood of the mansion’s floors she to her surprise heard the familiar voice of her angel around the next corner. “You were amazing last night Betsy.” But…Warren was supposed to be at some work thing last night… “Who would have guessed your voice would be as beautiful as…Well as everything else.” Clara clasped her hand to her mouth, feeling a tug of pain at her heart. “Thanks for coming out.”
“I have to admit, I was a little weary of going out last night but my agent insisted.” Betsy’s voice was smooth as silk as she leaned almost seductively against the wall. “But next time Worthington Industries has a benefit I do hope my name will be on the guest list again.” Clara could feel the wet tickle of her tears slowly crawling down her cheeks. She felt worse than betrayed…But the worst part was she couldn’t tell if the bad part was that Warren hadn’t taken her to the party or that she could hear the same flirtation in his voice that he had when the two of them first met.
“Oh, you definitely will.” Warren answered with a smile as his fingers traced down a strand of her black and purple hair. It felt so much nicer then Clara’s, no damage from years of salt water, no waves or curls to fight through. Everything about Betsy was smooth, right down to her fighting.
Suddenly the last few weeks of Warren being even more rare of a sight then usual made so much more sense. Clara couldn’t take this anymore. Tears pouring down her cheeks Clara sprinted past the two in a sobbing blur. Warren muttered a curse under his breath as he saw her pass, pushing away from the vaguely asian beauty to chase after his girlfriend. “Clara! Wait!” He called out as his wings folded behind him as he began to jog past other students and X-men alike.
The slam of Clara’s door echoed through the halls as did her sobs and cries. Hearing this Warren let out a sigh and began to walk slower before a soft knock on her door told her that he was there. “Go away.” Was the only answer he got.
“Clara, it’s not what you think.” He attempted…knowing it was probably exactly what she thought. He honestly wasn’t sure what was going on with him and Betsy. But probably yes. She didn’t answer. She knew what this was and she wasn’t having it. She was done with the angel…Let the psychic who broke her dad’s turtle have him.
News of the scene had traveled throughout the school fast…Students just loved their gossip. So it was no surprise Kurt found his way to Clara’s door. “Clara? I heard about what happened. Can I come in?” His accent was smooth and comforting. It was soothing enough for Clara to wipe a tear away and climb off her bed to unlock the door for him. Despite the friendship they had formed this was the first time he’d actually visited her in her room. He looked around a moment, admiring the tropical decor before wrapping her up in a soft furry hug, petting her hair with his thick fingers. “There there Liebling (sweetheart).” He cooed as she clung to her friend for comfort, crying into his shoulder. He stayed with her for hours letting her tears stain his shirt until she was finally calm enough for sleep to take her.

It had been a week of long walks on the beach and getting to know the people who would soon be Clara’s team mates, but fun in the sun had to end for the students and Clara’s new life awaited. January in upstate New York was a far cry from the warmth of the endless summer Clara had grown up in. For the first time in her life the island girl knew what ‘cold’ truly meant and she didn’t like it one bit.
Night 1:
Tumblr media
Clara tossed and rolled around her bed. She never realized before just how quiet the night could be. The silence was deafening. She missed the waves lapping softly outside her window, she missed the soft sweet lullaby of the tree frogs and the smell of the island flowers and ocean salt in the breeze wafting in through her window at night. Now all she had was the sound of kids trying to sneak down the hall and the smell of recycled heat.
Feeling defeated she pulled her pile of blankets back and swung her feet to the floor, finding a pair of fuzzy slippers to hide them in as she wrapped a fleece blanket adorned with small tribal patterns resembling turtles around her shoulders for warmth. Feeling shielded from the cold and artificial heat Clara snuck her way downstairs into the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea. Clutching the warm mug in her hands she peered out the window, watching the moonlight reflect palely off the snow. It was a far cry from the beautiful shimmering and shifting reflection of the night sky the sea provided, but still she found it hauntingly beautiful. She stood there for about five minutes, getting lost in the pale white glow before a soft BAMF sounded behind her, pulling her from her trace with a jump. She thought she was the only one awake. Her heightened heart rate was apparent on her face as she turned to face a blue furry mutant with pointed ears yellow eyes and sharp teeth.
“Oh! I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you. His German accent was smooth and comforting as he stepped closer to her. “You must be new here.” He added with a toothy smile, extending a three fingered hand to the girl. He did his best to move slow, not wanting to scare the poor girl any more.
“Yeah, I am.” She replied with a friendly smile, clutching his hand in hers, surprised at the strong grip. “My name is Clara.”
“Ah! The new recruit from the island get away?” He asked curiously as he stepped away to make himself some popcorn, obviously having heard something about the girl before she got here.. Clara nodded, watching him move. To say his appearance startled her would be incorrect, but she was a little put off by it, but not entirely in a bad way. “I thought you would have been asleep after your trip?”
Clara shook her head slightly, her blond waves whipping back and forth as she did. “I can’t sleep…” She answered with a sigh before sipping on her tea.
“Ahh…Missing home?” Kurt knew the feeling all too well…He was always pretty nocturnal but did find it much harder to sleep when he first came to the school as well. He knew how much of an adjustment this place could be on people. Clara nodded a bit. “Well, neither can I. Would you like to join me for a movie?” He offered as he teleported to the microwave that was beeping a signal of the popcorn being done then again to the doorway to the kitchen. “I think I have the perfect movie for you.” He added with that same toothy grin. She didn’t know weather to be afraid of him or mesmerized…maybe deep down she felt a little of both. Seeing the touch of fear Kurt made a note to keep a comfortable distance between the two as he lead her to the couches and he popped Pirates of the Caribbean into the DVD player. If anyone was good for having a pirate movie it would be Kurt…
Clara smiled at the choice, taking popcorn when it was offered to her before the sounds of the movie eventually lulled her into a state of slumber, at which point Kurt scooped her up to deliver her back to her bed. He looked down to her sleeping face, the face of a goddess to him. He could smell the faint hint of coconut and sunshine on her skin and the sea water trapped in her hair. The way she snuggled unknowingly against him in her sleep as he walked made his fur stand on end and his heart race. But he pushed those feelings off to the side. It was afterall no secret that she was romantically involved with the Angel.
“Gute nacht, schönheit.” Kurt whispered as he tucked her in before BAMFing back into his room.
Night Two:
Tumblr media
The night started much as it did the night before, only tonight the sudden sound of Kurt’s voice was less startling and more hoped for. She rather enjoyed the pleasant conversation they had over the movie before she fell off to sleep. And she was quite sure he was the one that brought her to her room once sleep did finally take her. She had thought about just going to Warren’s room, but he had told her before how busy his days could get running Worthington Industries and being an X-man, and the early start that comes with so much responsibility. So she had decided to just let her angel sleep, knowing he’d need it.
“Hey Kurt… Got any more movies?” She asked with a sweet smile and a light hearted hopeful voice, wrapped up in her turtle blanket, clutching her tea for warmth.
Kurt laughed joyfully at the look of her messy bed head and how adorable she looked wrapped up like that. “Ja, of course I do.” He answered as he gestured politely for her to lead the way to the common room.
Kurt watched her curl up on the couch much like she had done the previous night before he teleported himself into the room to set up the movie.
“Maybe I should just go back home…” Clara muttered, more thinking out loud then meaning to start a conversation. Despite that she’d only just gotten here the thought did make sense in her head. She couldn’t sleep, she was always cold now, which seemed to put a damper on her powers…And though she didn’t come here for Warren she barely got any time with her new boyfriend.
“Was?! Nein! No, don’t do that!” He said as he perched himself onto a chair close to the couch, remembering she had seemed slightly uncomfortable with him the night before. “I know this is all new and different fraulein. But you’ll grow used to it soon enough.” His smile, though his fangs showed, was so sincere and sweet, Clara couldn’t help smiling at her new friend. “Besides! Who else is going to watch my collection of swashbuckling adventures with me?” He added with a joking tone.
With a sigh Clara nodded, knowing staying here, training and using her powers for good was the right thing to do….But it didn’t make it suck any less. Muppet Treasure Island started and Clara couldn’t help bursting out into laughter at tonight’s movie. “Really?” She asked with a large smile as she looked up to the yellow of his eyes.
“Yes, really. Now cheer up! No one is aloud to be sad while watching The Muppets. I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of law.” Kurt said as his smile grew and he handed her some popcorn.
Night Three:
Tumblr media
“So what movie are we watching tonight?” She called out in the direction of the kitchen to who has apparently become her insomnia buddy over the last few days.
“Cutthroat Island. I think you’ll love this movie.” Kurt replied as the smell of his sulfer BAMF lingered in the air around the chair he had teleported into, close enough to Clara to share popcorn with but definitely not on the same couch. She had by now decided that he either really liked pirates or really knew what she needed to fall asleep…Either way she was happy with the movie choices. Pirate movies means ships, and ships mean the sound of waves, and for Clara that means eventually sleep will come
“You not sleeping well babe?” Clara’s head perked up hearing the soothing voice of her angel from behind her as Kurt hit the play button for the DVD player.
She shook her head lightly. “It’s too quiet here at night…I guess I’m just too used to the sound of the waves.”
“Don’t worry Warren. I’ve been taking good care of your fraulein.” Kurt offered in a reassuring tone before giving him a toothy grin. He loved having Clara around the last few days…But Warren didn’t need to know exactly how much he loved having her around. It wouldn’t be right and he knew it.
“Come watch the movie with us?” Clara asked as her mess of hair fell into her face. “Please?”
Warren couldn’t help smiling at the way her face shone in the moonlight and nodded before climbing onto the couch, wrapping his island girl up in his soft fluffy wings. She snuggled into the warmth of his body and wings, resting her head on his chest lightly, adding the sound of his heartbeat to the list of things she has now decided she couldn’t live without. His fingers combed through her hair gently yet unyielding, as if he was trying to tame the hair that was just getting tangled among his feathers until he heard a soft snore rise from her nose. He smiled lightly, realizing the soft pink of it from the day they met was fading slowly into an even more beautiful tan. He kissed her forehead lightly and wrapped his arms and wings around her tighter, taking in the coconut and sea water smell that wafted off of her. He was surprised the smell had lasted through the last few days, but was sure that after a lifetime of sun lotion the smell must be ingrained in her skin. He didn’t want to give up that smell, but he knew the better thing to do would be to carry her to her room.
Kurt watched the couple out of the corner of his yellow eyes with a smile. It warmed his heart to see the two of them so happy and in love. Warren rose, carrying Clara bridal style, never letting his wings leave her, knowing how she hated the cold. “Thank you Kurt, for helping Clara the past few nights.”
“No problem! It’s been a joy having someone to watch my movies with!” He beamed, truly glad he had found someone with as much of an interest in his swashbuckling adventures, even if it was for a completely different reason. “…She misses her home you know… A lot.” He added, hoping the rich boyfriend would do something better to help then just put on an old movie.
Day Four:
Tumblr media
Clara’s room had been littered with souvenirs from her home by the time she had finished unpacking everything. A conch shell on her dresser, a stone turtle by her door, pieces of coral and shells anywhere she could find the space, and of course her skimboard rested by her dresser. But today Clara had noticed additions had been made when she came to gather some fresh clothes before a shower She had discovered a painting of her beach had been hung over her bed and suddenly she could hear the sound of gentle waves lapping against the water. The room didn’t feel as overly dry with heat anymore either. Confused Clara stepped in, looking around the space until she finally spotted a humidifier in the corner and a note on her bed.
“Hey Babe, sorry I wasn’t able to give these to you in person but you were busy training and I have to run out to the office. I hope these help you feel a little more comfortable in your room tonight. If I set the waves too loud and you can’t find where the sound is coming from, just look under your bed. I’ll see you when I get back.” And ended with a heart.
Clara could feel her smile growing as she looked around the room. It wasn’t exactly like home. But he sure just made it feel much closer to what she was used to.

Hurricane Clara - Chapter 1
A/N: This is my own little pocket universe that I took a lot of time to build. If anything is inconsistent to the current comics just go with it and enjoy the ride.
@disneykid1212 you mentioned in your video that you were looking for more Kurt fics, I know you were looking for x reader fics but I’d love to hear your thoughts on this
Read it all here
Tumblr media
The day started as it did any other for Clara…Early. The young 21 year old girl pushed her mess of golden waves from her aqua blue eyes and reached for her phone to silence the alarm sounding, reminding her that it was 7am once again. With a groan she pulled herself from her soft bed and shuffled off into the kitchen, towards coffee pot. She didn’t run the faucet, she didn’t need to, with a focused stare the reservoir of the coffee maker was full. Hydrokenisis has it’s benefits…saving on the water bill being one of the best. She was able to pull moisture from the air and compound the H2O molecules. It was very rare she actually ever had to turn on a faucet when she was alone. While the coffee brewed she rubbed sunscreen into her permanently tan skin of her arms torso and legs, switching to a higher spf to protect the blush of an almost sunburn that adorned her cheeks.
As Clara’s day began so did the day of four very lucky students of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, along with their chaperones Storm, Warren and Colossus.  The adults sipped on some coffee as the young ones began to get up and mobile. There was no need to rush since there was no mission…Just a week of nice relaxation compliments of Xavier, a reward for all the hard work the trainees had put in.
Clad in a red yellow and green striped bikini Clara pulled her wild hair into a low ponytail and tied her favorite hemp choker adorned with a small wood carving of a sea turtle around her neck. Her bare feet padded against the white tile floor careful not to wake her mother who wouldn’t have to be up for a few hours as she grabbed her skimboard and left the condo for the beautiful beach. To be honest the only way the two of them could afford to live in a condo on Seven Mile Beach, in a tourist condo was because her mother worked for the complex, and despite the unit being right off the beach people seemed to not like having windows that showed the much nicer hotel next door.
Warren and Colossus watched the blond have fun gliding over the shallow water, taking sharp turns on waves and small kick flips with the board. The two of them discussed what they saw, eventually coming to the agreement it looked most like a cross between surfing and skateboarding. As the two talked the students played in the water and Storm was relaxing, soaking in the sun. Clara noticed the two men watching her, with handsome faces and strong bodies like theirs  how could she not? The big guy she didn’t care too much for, wasn’t much of her type…To her he looked like he’d rip her in half on accident, but the smaller one had a nice smile, and looked way too adorable for her not to show off her flips and tricks, moving through the water like a pro.
You’d think growing up on an island is strange…and in a way you’d be right. Especially when you live in a condominium complex that often rents out to tourists. Never able to make friends outside of school for longer than a week or two at a time…But Grand Cayman as a whole tended to live up to it’s name. Never far from the beach and the large tourist community made finding a job easy. Clara’s job of choice? She worked for the number one water sports company on the island, providing boating trips to local tourist destinations for snorkeling and diving as well as selling and renting equipment to tourists. Sure she’d much rather spend her entire day on her skimboard, but she understood time in the shop was just as important…Besides, on days she was really lucky she got to take one of the boats out, and that was a true joy. Days like today. Once she had her fill of the beach for the day Clara picked up her board and rushed inside to ready for work…She pulled a skin tight red t-shirt with the Red Sail logo across the chest and a pair of water resistant black shorts over her suit, her athletic body obvious through her tight clothing as she and tied her still wet hair into a messy bun at the base of her neck where a few golden strands escaped to caress the soft curve of her cheek. Normally she’d put more care into how she looked, maybe fight with her hair for a while until it looked what she felt was presentable, but an afternoon on one of the catamarans was far from a day at the shop, she knew the wind and waves wouldn’t let her look any more professional…Besides, this was just functional.
Tumblr media
Clara was slightly surprised to see the attractive gentlemen from that morning climb out of the van like taxi that had dropped off her group, but she really wasn’t all that disappointed, what surprised her was the long coat the blond was wearing. Once the students and their adult supervision were all on the dock Clara spoke in a raised voice so that everyone could hear her as she lowered herself from the boat to the dock. “Hello everyone, thank you for joining me today. I have a wonderful afternoon planned for you but first I need to know is there anyone here who can not swim?” She drew her attention to the adults, expecting honest answers out of them, the three all shook their heads. “Good.” She responded with a smile. “Ok so I am Clara, and this,” She paused setting a hand on the sleek white catamaran that awaited the group. “This is Morskoy Kot”
“Ha! Sea Cat. I like it.” Piotr commented, his Russian accent thick.
Clara smiled at him with a nod and a chuckle. “Yes, that’s right. Now the forecast is calling for some choppy seas this afternoon, but we’ll try to keep everyone in as smooth water as we can. But please be sure to be aware of how far you are from the boat. I will save you if I have to…But that’s a lot of paperwork.” She spoke with a lighthearted joke in her tone, but her face held a serious look to show that she was serious about safety being a priority. “Alright,” Clara moved back onto the boat, helping the teens on before taking her position at the helm.
“I saw you on the beach this morning, didn’t I?” Warren asked smoothly as he took a seat by her at the helm. He wore on his face the pink of a tourist who had been out in the sun too long with not enough sunblock, which is why Clara just dismissed the lack of swim attire. But now that she thought about it, he was wearing the same coat earlier as well.
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure you did.” She answered with a smile and a nod as her blue eyes met his. She was now glad she had a slight burn on her cheeks, it masked her blushing. The two and a half hour trip seemed to fly by for Clara and Warren, though they were still blissfully unaware the other was a mutant…Well, Clara was unaware anyone on her boat was a mutant. Until they hit some rough water on the way back in. Warren had gotten up to get himself a drink out of the cooler when the boat hit the choppy waves. All it took was a student bumping into him to knock him off the boat and into the warm waters. “Oh Shit!” She muttered hearing the splash before killing the motor and turning the boat as fast as the vessel would let her. But once she looked back she realized this maneuver would have to be a slow, she wasn’t sure why but she couldn’t see her blond charmer’s head above the water. Everyone else knew…His feathery wings were weighing him down…It’s not as if they lied…He could swim…just not very well and not in a large body of water.
Piotr being the strongest dove in after his comrade to lift him up out of the water while you brought the boat around. It didn’t take long for him to be safe on the boat but it felt like forever…As the large Russian lifted Warren out of the water Clara was able to spot the white feathers floating under the long coat, bound by leather straps. Suddenly everything about him made sense. She figured this group was either all mutants or at least cool with them. But either way there was an angel with water in his lungs on the deck of her boat and Ororo’s CPR didn’t seem to be doing anything about it. She watched with a calm horror for a moment while the group acted as a team, as they were trained. She was just so used to not using her powers in front of others, she actually forgot she had them for a moment. Then suddenly it came crashing into her mind like a tsunami. SHE could help. “Stand back.” Clara stated with a rushed and slightly nervous tone, she’d never tried anything like this before but it was looking like this was the angel’s only shot at survival. Everyone around Warren did as Clara requested as she knelt down, eyes closing with a hand over his chest. She concentrated, feeling water all around her but searching specifically for the water that wasn’t where it belonged. She heard one of the kids ask what she was doing as she found the offending moisture and furrowed her brow as she blocked out the sound of the adults holding back the kids, shhing those who spoke. Her hand moved slowly up his chest until finally a burst of water came gushing out of Warren’s mouth like a gyser.
Warren coughed up a bit of the water that had remained as he opened his sky blue eyes, seeing Clara, to him the true angel on this vessel. “You…You saved me.” He said with a smile as Clara helped him sit up, using her powers to pull the moisture from his wings.
“I did…You should have told me you couldn’t swim.” She half scolded, just glad he was alright.
“That is quite an impressive gift you have there Clara.” Ororo’s voice was like silk as she spoke, Clara heading back to the helm. She went on to tell Clara about the team of mutants they all were a part of, and offered her a position on the team.
She thought about it for a moment, and the thought seemed good. She’d be able to use her powers to help others…It sure beat cheating the water bill. “Yeah…If your professor is cool with me coming home with all of you that sounds wonderful.” She finally agreed as she pulled into the dock.
“Awesome! We’re staying at the Plantana…Come by and see us whenever you like!” Warren was beaming with excitement about his beach girl coming home with them.
“I know.” She replied with a chuckle.  “I live in unit 10.”
Tumblr media
Once back at the condos Clara learned that the boys were in 18 and the girls were in 19. Around 7pm Clara knocked on the door to the boys condo. Warren’s eyes went wide and his slightly burned cheeks curved up into a smile seeing her hair pulled back into a messy bun of untamable waves and her sun soaked skin clad in a blue bikini hiding under a sheer white cotton dress. Warren began to wonder if the girl even owned underwear or if she just had a drawer full of swim attire to substitute. Clara for the first time saw his wings unbound in all their glory. She was taken aback by their beauty. The two of them just stood there, staring at each other a moment before the strong Russian accent of Piotr rung out from behind Warren. “Ahh Clara! How can we be helping you?”
The Russian snapped Clara out of the hypnotic trance Warren seemed to put her in. She smiled up to the friendliest muscle man she’s ever met and then back down to Warren. “I just wanted to stop by and see if you were alright.” Clara paused as her eyes met his and she could feel a soft blush forming on her cheeks. “And maybe if you wanted to go for a walk? The sunsets on this beach are absolutely gorgeous…”
Warren nodded vigorously as he grabbed his harness for his wings. “Yeah! That sounds great.” Clara chuckled as she watched him wiggle into the restraints before helping him slip into his coat to hide his mutation, suddenly feeling lucky that she didn’t have anything physical like that she’d have to hide. The two meandered down the soft sand of the beach, taking in the colors of the setting sun, talking about life and the school she was about to go to. As the light of dusk faded into the light of the stars the two of them found their fingers entwined together as they began to make their way back to the condos and sharing a kiss goodnight before they went their separate ways.

Actually, this is EXACTLY why I wrote this! I am a Pagan myself and I wanted to see a more accurate depiction of witchcraft in fics. You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear a fellow witch enjoyed this!
I have set fics asside for now to focus on a novel with a simmilar focus to accurate depictions of witchcraft and the things from beyond the veil. Once I have perfected it I will be posting more about it.
Blessed be my friend!

Certain Point Of View Chapter 10
Early spring flowers bloomed timidly in the window of your shop as warmer weather fought against the winter’s chill. Loki stood for a moment admiring the violet and yellow of the crocus flowering, finding the cheerfulness of the bloom reminding him of you as he plucked one. Your face seemed to light up as you watched him glide through the door. “I’m glad you came…I have another book for you.” You smiled gleefully, bending under the counter to retrieve the package.
He chuckled lightly at your generosity. “I think I have plenty of reading material for a while now.” He admitted, almost feeling a bit guilty having accepted so many books from your business.
“No, you don’t.” You answered matter of factly, knowing for sure he wouldn’t have one like this, before sliding him a large pile of papers bound together with large clips, the freshly printed ink still glistening in the light of the afternoon sun.
“What is this?” He asked as he lifted it carefully, fearful of the paper fluttering away. His eyes look over the title printed in small plain text on the first page ‘From a Certain Point of View’ by (Y/N) - A retelling of the norse myths from Loki’s point of view. His eyes went soft as his eyes drifted from the pages up to you…you finally finished it. A swell of jubilant pride surged through him, realizing he would be the first of many to read your tale.
“This one is not a gift though.” You smirk up to him. “This is my own personal work and I will require payment.”
“Well of course,” his words rolled smoothly over you. “And what are you asking for it?"  He purred as he stepped closer, looking deep into your eyes, dying to wrap his arms around you and show you just how much he has fallen in love with you.
The corners of your lips tugged a bit higher as your hands came to rest on his arms, finding the gentle way he held you better than heaven. "I’ll take an afternoon at the tea shop or an evening at the trivia bar.”
“Gladly.” He assured you as he nestled the bloom he plucked with you in mind into the hair around your ear, finding the beauty of your face made the bloom pale in comparison.
~ ~ ~ ~
As you made your way into the cafe, you found a cooling comfort and warmth in your heart when your god’s fingers wrapped around yours snuggly. The murmur of the busy space dropping off in an instant at the sight of Loki, before the two of you were surrounded by hushed whispers, the public still not sure how to take the god. Your eyes softened as you watched the disappointment taking over his face before you squeezed his hand a little tighter, comforting him. All your mischief maker wanted was to be accepted, loved for who he was, and how you hoped he could see you did.
“It wasn’t all me you know…the mind stone, it warped my thinking… I never wanted Midgard, Asgard was my goal, and in the end saving my people trumped that ambition by far.” He muttered under his icy breath as he felt your arm wrap comfortingly around his, embracing him just a bit more.
“You have nothing to explain to me Loki…but for what it’s worth,” you paused giving his cheek a soft warm kiss, igniting a fire inside his soul that he never wanted to die out “I think you would have been an amazing King.”
His smile grew as he turned to you, looking down into your eyes as his hands rested on your hips. “I was a great King” he assured you in a soft whisper as he brushed the tip of his nose against yours, testing to see if you would shy away, his smirk growing when he saw you stepping in closer.
“I’d love to hear about that.” You whispered, your hands came to rest on his deceptively strong arms, your lips craving  his against yours. His breath felt like a brush of winter’s frost against you, sending your heart to race as you realized he was just shy of your lips. The world felt like it was vanishing around you, suddenly you didnt care you were surrounded by strangers in your favorite cafe, you were enveloped in his arms, and it felt like heaven.
“I love you.” He whispered reassuringly as the warmth of you lips met his and from each other’s point of view nothing could have been more perfect.
