De Selby pt1 - If they now primarily speak a language that is not their first, what occasions make them speak it again? If they don’t get the chance to, what situation makes them want to?

De Selby pt2 - In what way have they metaphorically “dug their own grave?” Has anyone told them that’s what they’ve done, and if so, do they believe them?

First Time - What about their partner would they miss most if they lost them, but not realize they’d miss until after they were gone?

Francesca - Do they currently believe anyone would be willing to suffer for them? If so, do they believe there is a limit to how much this person would be willing to go through?

Unknown/Nth - What things about themselves do they fear will be forgotten when they die? Is there anyone who they trust enough to ensure this doesn’t happen?

First Light - What moment in their life did they feel the closest to fully healed from what they’ve been through? Have things gotten better or worse from there?

They didn’t come back wrong - They came back with a time limit.

They came back fine, but the spell or the medicine won’t last forever. They’re fading every day, looking closer and closer to how they were when they died, and now they have to hurt again and die again because they came back fine.

And now the question is was it worth it?

Was it worth it to have those days of them coming back fine to watch them fade away again? Was it worth it for them to see grief take over those who love them again?

Sure, there was a chance to get closure.

But is that really worth what it cost?

Sporting Hurt/Comfort Prompts

Or, I’m not coping with the end of Ted Lasso I guess, so this is how I’m dealing. As always, feel free to reblog and use!

Athlete receives a diagnosis that threatens to end their career prematurely, and their partner has to help them with the new reality.

Athlete is injured while their partner watched on TV. Their partner nervously makes their way to the stadium or watches on, unable to tell how bad it is and needing to go to Athlete’s side.

A very old injury flares up while Athlete is hanging out with their partner, and nasty old memories resurface.

An especially nasty away crowd gets under Athlete’s skin, and their partner helps to talk them through it and out of their own head.

Athlete passes out during a competition, and though their partner and others are horrified, it turns out to be very minor. Though Athlete was hurt, their partner ends up needing more comfort.

Through some mundane means, Athlete watches their partner get injured in a fairly normal way for their sport, but to everyone surprise, it rattles them badly. They just hate seeing their partner in pain.

Athlete receives an unusually bloody, dramatic or otherwise noteworthy injury, and though they recover, they want desperately to be out of the shadow of that incident. Their partner helps keep reporters away, and comfort them when needed.

Athlete has to play on a team or in a tournament very far from home, and their partner helps them through a bout of heavy homesickness.

When sidelined after a major injury, Athlete’s team does something in their honor the next game. Athlete is overwhelmed and grateful, and their partner helps them through the emotional time.

Athlete’s team member and good friend received a career and potentially life threatening injury and, fearful for the life and health of their friend, Athlete leans on their partner and teammates in this time of crisis.
