I put some seeds in my empty antidepressant prescription bottle before I left for break and I came back and they had sprouted and I think it’s a good reminder that from pain there is growth

Do I need to be diagnosed with OCD to have HOCD? I haven’t been diagnosed with OCD but now I feel like I have developed HOCD, I took tests online and even looked up symptoms- it’s a high chance that I have HOCD.
Hocd isn't a disorder on its own, it's a manifestation of OCD where the obsessions and compulsions are sexuality related. Not all people with OCD experience sexuality related thoughts/compulsions, some experience it in periods, for some it's their main focus, etc. OCD symptoms can have many different ways of manifesting and it can change over time.
If you think you're in need of professional help for your symptoms then a diagnosis will be necessary to gain access to those services. If you don't want/can't go that route, then there are many resources online. I'd recommend checking the resource tag or googling OCD charities, because they often have a lot of resources linked on their websites.

Thinking traps, or cognitive distortions, are patterns of thought that distort our view of the way things really are. Everyone experiences this to some degree. Unsurprisingly, people with OCD tend to get caught in these traps.
Recognizing these distortions is the first step to learning how to challenge and change them.

If you relapse, you CAN get back on track. It might have taken you months of practice to reduce your anxiety symptoms, but it won’t take you that long to get back to where you were before the relapse. If you get back to practising your CBT skills, before you know it you will be mastering your anxiety again in no time.

The best way to begin managing your OCD is to begin building a toolbox of strategies that will help you to deal with your obsessions in the long run.
Breaking this vicious cycle involves: (1) Learning to gradually eliminate your unhelpful coping strategies (such as compulsions); and (2) Learning to think about your obsessions in a more balanced and helpful way.
Here are some effective tools to help you break the cycle of OCD.

Do you think it makes sense that my ADHD meds tend to help with my OCD as well? I have less issues with my compulsions and intrusive thoughts while I'm on them. If it's necessary to say, I'm not entirely sure if I have OCD, but I'm pretty sure.
hm, i'm not a doctor so i'm reluctant to speculate, but what i've read usually is that there is the opposite effect in some people, that the adhd meds as a stimulant can trigger ocd symptoms in people who have untreated or aren't managing their ocd. that said, everyone's experiences are different, and the same medication might behave a little differently for two different people.
maybe your adhd is somehow leading your compulsions etc. to get worse, and managing your adhd helps with your ocd type symptoms? adhd is commonly a cause of anxiety, and maybe something with your ability to focus your thoughts can play a role. i honestly couldn't say, this is all speculation from me!!

Is it okay too ask for some words or advice? ive just currently realised that i have ocd (in more than one) and ontop of that i have anxiety. Whats the best way that helped you stop compulsions and the need for reassurance? And how do you combat when the ruminating throughts try too stick? Ive tried too do a few and still seeing whats the most effective for me, but i have been struggling with it still!
hey !
the best way to stop compulsions / reassurance seeking is to stop yourself from engaging in it, which i know is easier said than done. stopping these things takes effort and discomfort and getting comfortable sitting with anxiety for a while, it takes practice, but it does get easier the more you do it, and in the long run it is the only thing i would personally recommend.
as in what specific type of therapy technique is best, usually ERP and CBT are used for ocd, but of course, everyone's experience is unique to them in some way.
if you go to the resource tag, hopefully there'll be something helpful for you!

Can ocd cause false desires?Like for example my thoughts will say "I want/would enjoy (insert obsession that's distressing)" completely unprovoked even thought it causes discomfort to panic attacks and I would rather be flung into the sun before doing it. It didn't start out this way, but when my ocd got worse it started doing this .I don't want what it says I do, but it scares me. I've looked for answers and they always seemed mixed. Do I actually want it or is my brain messing with me?
Your brain is messing with you. It's basically like this, your brain is throwing random things at the wall to see what sticks. When you get scared and upset you start doing rituals or trying to get rid of the thoughts, because you think this will help you feel better.
Short term, maybe, but long term you are reinforcing the thoughts, making them come more often. This doesn't mean they're "true", it just means your brain thinks they're important simply because you're focusing on them so much.
Maybe this video can give more perspective;

here is your gentle reminder that there are dandelions growing through cracks in the sidewalk. there is a fence lizard on the porch who is growing a new tail. there are trees growing through an abandoned house, branches tearing through the ceiling, ferns carpeting the floor. there is life pushing forward, pushing through.

I’d like to ask a bit about hOCD? I know I have contamination OCD, but recently I’ve been wondering if I might have hOCD. Do you have any links or explanations you could provide! Thank you and have a nice day!
I don’t have many links, since I wanted to avoid things that seemed a bit outdated, but here’s one:
https://www.madeofmillions.com/ocd/sexual-orientation-ocd
Common Sexual Orientation OCD obsessions:
Fear that you’re gay when you’re actually straight or vice versa.
Constantly questioning your sexuality.
Fear of sending out signals that make you seem gay or straight, depending on sexual preference.
Common Sexual Orientation OCD compulsions:
Avoidance: You stop dating, attending events or going out into social settings.
Checking: Looking at someone or a picture of someone of the same sex and determining whether you have a sexual or emotional response.
Questioning: Becoming confused when you see someone of the same sex and thinking they’re attractive.
Reassurance: Looking at photos of the opposite sex to confirm that your sexual desires are aligned with what you know to be true.
I’m sure some followers can relate as well, so if anyone has any resources or tips for anon, please feel free to reply to this!

When it comes to recovering from an anxiety disorder like OCD, GAD, SAD, etc, remember that trying to avoid anxiety is part of what contributes to the disorder. Getting mentally fit is just like getting physically fit–if you hate that you’re always out-of-breath, but you don’t want to run because it makes you sweat and feel tired, you’re always going to be out-of-breath.
