———————————————————————————
“I need you to pinky promise that you are going to come back to me.” Steve's voice was low as you prepared to step out of the RV with your sister, Lucas, and Erica.
Your eyes immediately softened as you connected your pinky to his, “I pinky promise that I will come back to you, Steve.” You meant every word.
Steve relaxed a tiny bit, “I love you, Mayfield.”
“I love you too Harrington, be safe.” You let your pinky slip from his as you stepped outside of the RV where the three other kids had been waiting for you.
You immediately knew the look on your sister's face, “I should be the one doing this, not you. Vecna hasn't even cursed you y/n, you have no idea what you are walking into!”
You knew in Max’s mind it probably didn't make much sense, but you would do anything in the world to keep her safe. “Max, I'm the big sister. My job is to protect you and that's exactly what I'm going to do. Everything is going to be okay. I’ve got this I promise.”
Another promise.
You wanted more than anything to keep those promises, but things weren’t looking good for you.
Things had steadily gone downhill as soon as you were put into vecna's trance. On the outside, the kids were trying to fight off Jason Carver and you were currently watching El struggle to keep up with vecna.
You weren't exactly sure how Eleven had managed to find you or how she got into your mind, but she had. At first, she had the upper hand but it was clear now as you were held up against a disjointed piece of the creel house in vecna's mind that this was a losing game for you.
You could barely see anything but a red glow all around you, your vision and mind were hazy from getting thrown around in your memory earlier.
“It's time Y/n.” the sinister voice you had learned to become familiar with over the last hour rang closely to your ears. Your vision focused enough to see Vecna standing in front of you, El still far away from you and held down by the vines.
Tears ran down both your cheeks. You knew this was it, and all you could think about is the people you would be leaving behind. The promises that would be shattered in the next few moments.
“You were brave Y/n, and now I will make the suffering stop.” With that, his hands came up to your face.
Immediately an awful sensation ran through your body. All of your muscles felt like they had been tightened, and your mind began to fog. People's faces flashed in and out of your head, and they soon began to jumble together. The pressure continued to worsen as vecna sank his nails into your skull. You could feel yourself dying…slipping away from consciousness.
You were waiting for the pain to stop, for vecna to take everything away from you.
The relief never came, instead, a deafening scream sounded in your ears before everything was completely black. You felt like you were drowning, unable to navigate through what was happening.
You could still faintly feel vecna's mind connected to yours, but that was ripped away too as you were brought back to reality.
“Oh god! Y/n! Y/n please!” Max was screaming. You could hear her, but there was something wrong with your eyes.
“I-I can’t-.” Your breathing quickened as the pain set in.
You blinked as hard as you could, your vision was blurred but you could make out some of Max’s features. “Ev-Everything hurts.” You sobbed.
You could feel your sister's arms shaking underneath you, trying to pull you up…trying to keep you alive.
“Erica! Call 911, We need help!” You could hear Lucas yelling now too, but you were far too weak to look around for him.
“Y/n, please stay awake. Please, help is gonna come okay? Just hang on.” Despite the unbearable pain raking through your body, somehow the thought of leaving your little sister behind without anyone hurt even more.
“I’m n-not ready to go.” You could feel every ounce of strength you had left starting to drain from your body, leaving your eyes dropping with the weight, “Lucas help!” Max was sobbing uncontrollably as she took your face in her hands trying to keep you awake.
“You gotta stay awake.” Her voice was barely above a whisper, but it was enough to make you push open your eyes once again. The vision in one of your eyes was a bit clearer now and you could see the distress on her face.
“I’m trying Max. I don’t want to leave you.” Salty tears mixed with the blood that stained your cheeks, “I’m just so tired.” you mustered what strength you had and pulled your hand to cover hers that rested on your face. You knew your other hand was broken and by the feeling in your legs, you also knew at least one of them was as well.
It felt like ages that you laid there like that, trying to hang on to consciousness as it became increasingly more difficult. “What's taking Erica so long! The ambulance should be here by now!”
Lucas had not moved to sit next to Max trying to tell you both it wouldn't be long, but any hopes of getting medical help anytime soon went out the window when the youngest Sinclair ran into the room, “No one will help! I've tried every house and no one will answer. I don't know what to do!” Erica was hysterical and even though she kept a brave face most of the time, it wasn't easy seeing someone she cared for dying.
“I-It's okay.” You shakily spoke, suddenly hyper-aware of what was coming soon.
“No! No! You listen to me, you are not dying Y/n! Please just stay awake!” She held you tighter against her, hoping that would somehow do something.
You could feel your mind slipping away, but once again you opened your eyes when you heard a commotion. You could see mainly Robin and Nancy but a few seconds later Steve, Eddie, and Dustin all came into view.
Your heart ached at the sight of Steve…you don't want him to remember you like this.
“Steve, w-we have to get her help. She- She-.” Max couldn't dare finish her sentence, she couldn't admit that her sister was dying in her arms.
Steve dropped to his knees, tears already falling as he took the weight of your body from Max’s shaking form.
“Y/n.” His voice cracked, letting a sob escape his lips as he could feel how cold your skin was.
“I’m sorry for breaking our pinky promise.” Your voice was getting weaker and the pain started to numb as the seconds passed.
“No baby you didn't break it. You are gonna get out of this.” You could tell he didn't really believe what he was saying, “I gotta get you up baby. We are gonna take you to the hospital. You just gotta hang on for 15 more minutes. That's all.” As the words left his mouth he scooped you up as gently as possible, but pain shot through your head and two of your limbs.
In a way the pain was good, it was better than numb.
“I can’t Steve. I can’t.” You cried as he carried you down the steps and outside into the camper where Eddie began to drive quickly to the hospital.
Max was holding the knot with your good hand while Steve cradled your body, “Look sweetheart, the hard parts over.” Steve sniffled.
The numb feeling began to wash back over your body and you lost the feeling of Max’s hand on yours and eventually you couldn’t feel Steve's hold either.
It was your time, “M-Max honey. I love you so much okay? I-I need you to know that this wasn't your fault.” You wished you could hug her or even grip her hand for reassurance, but all of your feelings were gone. “Max please, tell me you know this isn't your fault.” you needed to hear it. You needed to know she would be okay without you.
“I-I know it's not my fault Y/n,” She dropped her head into your neck and hugged you, “I love you, please don't leave me.” You didn't want to leave her, but you knew it wasn't your choice.
You looked up to catch Steve's eyes, “I love you, Harrington.”
“Y/n we are not doing this! W-We were supposed to- to buy that camper. Just like this one, remember? Our- our six little nuggets. Y/n please we still have so much future ahead of us.” He sobbed as he could see life begin to drain faster from your face.
“Promise to take care of Max, please.” It was the last thing you let slip out before the remaining breath fell from your lungs and your vision and mind went black.
“Y/n?” Steve looked into your eyes, this time they were void of life.
Max let out a heart-wrenching scream, begging for you to wake back up.
Steve suddenly couldn't breathe, “No, no, no.” He cried.
They had arrived at the hospital only a few moments later…a few moments too late.
5 weeks later.
Steve had taken care of Max the last few weeks, just how you asked. Day in and day out he was there.
Max and Steve both had spent countless nights in your hospital room, hoping you would wake up. Though hope began to diminish with every passing day. The worst thing was the fact that no one knew why you weren't waking up. All but one broken leg had healed, and your body should have been plenty well-rested.
For weeks you were stuck in darkness. You assumed you were dead, or maybe in some kind of limbo but when you kept hearing familiar voices you knew something was off. You had accepted that this was just going to be your forever, that was until you heard some kind of music playing. It was a kate bush song, one you had heard Max play a thousand times. So you followed the noise until you couldn't follow it anymore.
Your eyes slowly opened, letting in the lights
“Holy shit.” You recognized the voice of your sister and could now see her face.
Something was off though, your vision.
“What? I, what?” You were confused.
At the sound of your voice, Max jumped up from the edge of your bed and hollered very loudly for a doctor and for Steve?
“Y/n it's okay! You're okay!” You could see the grin on her face, giving you some kind of relaxation.
Everything was fuzzy, but the memories began to flood your thoughts.
You died. You were sure of it.
You hadn't had time to ask any questions before a doctor and several nurses poured into your hospital room. They poked and prodded for what felt like hours.
All you wanted was to talk to your sister, and you wanted to see Steve. You hadn't even been able to see him yet.
The doctors informed you that you had been in a coma for 5 weeks, they had told you that you were hurt during the earthquake, yet you knew that was not even close to what happened. The mention of an earthquake also was confusing you.
Thankfully the doctors had left your room, leaving you in peace with your sister and now your boyfriend as well.
Steve was quick to run up to your bed, he hadn't gotten to see your face yet. He wanted to look into your eyes. Your very much alive eyes. “I thought you were gone. I-I thought I lost you.” tears streamed down his cheeks, but his lips were graced with a smile.
“I hate breaking pinky promises.” You wince slightly as you let out a small laugh.
You pull Steve onto the bed with you and motion Max to come to the other side.
You would worry about all of the details later, but right now you wanted to worry about your sister and boyfriend.
“Steve took care of me like you asked.” Max sniffled, pulling her head to rest on your shoulder.
You couldn't help but let a smile find its way onto your face, “He better have.”
“Please never leave me alone with her again.” Steve teased, causing Max to playfully hit him in the head.
Your thoughts circled back to why your vision looked so off, it was almost as if you had lost a chunk of your peripheral vision, “What's w-wrong with my eyes.”
You were scared to know the answer, and neither Steve nor Max knew how to tell you so instead Max opted for handing you a mirror.
Shock ran through your veins at the sight of your discolored eye. Your left eye had been perfectly normal in color, yet your other eye was a hazy gray. You closed only your left eye leaving you with absolutely nothing to see.
“I'm blind?”
“Only halfway. Your vision is still perfect in your good eye. The doctor said we just might need to get you some glasses so the good eye doesn't have to strain so much.” Max explained as you handed the mirror back to her.
Steve could already see where your mind was going, “Sweetheart, you are as beautiful as always.”
You sighed, “I-Its gray and ugly.”
“It's a part of you, and it's just as beautiful as it was before. Also, for what it's worth, I think it's pretty badass.” You realized he was onto something with the badass part, “Yeah I guess it is pretty badass.”
“Hell yeah, it is,” Max added in.
A few minutes later Max had run to the cafeteria to snag as many puddings as she could.
“I was really scared.” Steve scooted as close to you as he could on the bed.
“Me too.”
“I love you.” Steve let a tear slip from his eye, “I didn't even get to say it back that night. Y-You told me you loved me and I didn't say it back. Y/n I always say it back, b-but I was just-” He stopped himself before he went fully into a panic attack, trying to smooth his breath.
You hadn't realized just how much of a toll this whole event had taken on him and Max both, “Steve you didn't have to say it back. I already knew.”
You shakily brought your hand up to cup his cheek, “I'm here now, and you can tell me you love me every day for the rest of my very long life.”
Max quietly walked back into the room with several different pudding flavors, “Are we crying again? I don’t want to cry anymore.” She huffed while trudging over to you.
“We are not crying anymore. Consider this a no-cry zone as of now.” You softly ran your fingers under Steve's eyes as he set up.
Before you could say much more, you could hear many footsteps outside, “Oh yeah I should warn you...everyone is about to-” Max was quickly cut off when several people fell into your room.
“Y/N!” It was a simultaneous yell between Nancy, Robin, Eddie, Dustin, Will, Jonathan, Mike, and Eleven.
“Oh my god.” You snorted in laughter.
“Badass eye.” Dustin pointed while going in for the first hug.
“I know right.”

Three more hours.
Only three more hours until you could leave this godforsaken hellhole that is Hawkins High and finally enjoy some time with your boyfriend, Eddie Munson.
You two were most certainly an unlikely pair and the last thing you expected was to fall for the boy who apparently ran a cult. Of course, that was very far from the truth as you were quick to learn that Eddie Munson was the gentlest person you had ever met. Despite the hardships he faced in and out of school, he was always the one to make sure everyone else was okay. Which was also why he convinced you to keep your sprouting relationship a secret.
You wanted nothing more than to show everyone how proud you were to be dating Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson, but he was quick to realize your school life would be turned completely upside down if people knew you were associated with each other. You had hesitantly accepted the rule, but it didn't mean it hurt any less when you heard every popular kid talk down on the entire hellfire club and especially Eddie.
Nonetheless, you pushed through because come every Friday afternoon you could drop the peppy cheerleader facade and just be yourself whilst spending time with the boy you loved. Sometimes you would go to his trailer, and other times he would come over to your house. Your mom had grown to love Eddie and had also been completely convinced she knew who her future son-in-law was going to be.
“Yo, Y/n!” you heard a loud voice coming from your right.
You blinked harshly a few times, bringing yourself back into reality and out of your wandering thoughts.
“Uh sorry, what's going on?” You sighed, looking towards Jason as you realized he was the one to say your name.
It was hard to miss the eye roll that came from him, but you ultimately decided to ignore it.
“If you would have been listening like I asked everyone to do twenty minutes ago, you would know what's going on.” His voice was sharp and cold. Jason had always disliked you ever since you helped Chrissy realize how terrible her boyfriend truly was to her and everyone else. He knew that you weren't like the rest of the popular kids, and that bothered him to no end.
“I am so very sorry.” You sarcastically smiled and almost started to lay your head over on the lunchroom table until he began speaking again, “You know it's fine, I just wanted to make sure you were payin’ attention when we dump a bucket of water on the entire fucking satanic cult over there.” He smirked.
“W-What.” You immediately perked up just as three jocks dropped water-filled buckets over your boyfriend of all of his friends, efficiently ruining their clothes and food.
The lunchroom was filled with gasps, and you could see the anger practically steaming from Eddie.
Maybe it was the fact that you had already had a bad day, or maybe it was the fact that Dustin Henderson and Mike Wheeler looked just a little too sad now that their clothes had been ruined, but you had officially had enough of the bullshit.
“Jesus Christ, do you guys have to be such dicks all of the fucking time?” You stood up harshly as you pushed your lunch tray hard enough for it to fall right into Jason's lap. You hadn't really meant for that to happen, but you weren't complaining that it did.
“What the fuck.” Jason was now the one fuming as he jumped up from his seat and headed right for you. You hadn't been expecting him to come up behind you, but you were sorely mistaken as his foot caught yours, sending you falling nose first into the ground.
You hit the cafeteria floor with a thud, and as if that wasn't embarrassing enough, Jason had poured the remainder of the water right onto you.
Jason had half expected the lunchroom to fill with laughter, but it was dead silent as all eyes were focused on what had just happened, turns out tripping a very well-liked girl and pouring water on her, wasn’t the best look.
You were still in shock over the events that just happened as you clutched your throbbing nose, feeling a bit of blood beginning to fall over your top lip.
That’s all it took for Eddie to lose any kind of composure that he was hanging onto. Within seconds he was in Jason's face,” You know I can deal with the bullshit, but when it comes to her, you don’t fucking wanna go there.” His jaw was clenched so tight, that he thought it might snap.
Despite the pain you were currently in, you couldn't ignore the feeling in your stomach as Eddie stood up for you, much like you had tried to do for him a few moments ago.
Jason only laughed at the sudden bravery from Eddie, “Go sit back down freak, this has nothing to do with you. I don't know if you have been in your little cult fantasy land for too long or whatever, but she doesn't want anything to do with you.” Jason said with an unsettling amount of confidence like he actually knew you.
You had managed to stand up on your feet again, a few steps behind Eddie, “Actually Jason it does concern him considering he is my boyfriend.” You were loud and proud with the label, hoping every single person in the lunchroom heard it, and you were sure they did since there was basically a crowd formed around the three of you.
Eddie looked back at you for a moment, concern was clearly written all over his face at the sight of blood coming from your nose but you gave him the best reassuring smile you could muster.
Eddie wanted nothing more than to swoop you up in his arms, but he wanted to make sure something like this never happened again.
“Let's make something clear here Carver, you ever lay a fucking finger on her pretty little head again, and i’ll fucking cut it off.” His blood was boiling and Eddie fully meant every word that had just come out of his mouth.
He would do absolutely anything to protect you.
“You won’t do shit Munson, you’re a fucking cowar-” Jason was harshly cut off when a sharp swing to the face knocked him to the ground, blood now pouring out of his nose.
You felt a bit guilty, but you couldn't help the satisfaction that swarmed your body seeing him rolling on the ground with a bloody nose instead of you.
“Sorry, what was that? I think you got cut off there.” Eddie was now bent down closer to the floor so he could make eye contact with the blonde boy on the ground. “Choose your next words wisely Jason. After all, I could do a lot worse than punching you in the face considering I'm in a satanic cult, right?”
Jason's eyes got a bit wide then, “I g-got it freak. Get away from me.”
Eddie was content enough with that answer as he hurriedly turned around to you, his eyes running over your body to make sure you weren't seriously hurt.
“Cmon sweetheart, let's get you to the nurse.” His voice immediately took on a gentle tone as he wrapped his arm tightly around your waist and assisted you out of the lunchroom as everyone stood there wide-eyed with several jaws dropped to the floor.
The privateness of the hallways was a relief, away from prying eyes.
“Hold on a second Eddie.” You needed a moment to catch your breath, a moment in peace.
Eddie took this as an indicator that you were in pain, leading him to start panicking a bit, “What's hurting? I-Is it your leg? Your nose? Y-Your-.”
You were quick to cut off his spiral with a soft kiss on his lips. You tiptoed just enough to be able to reach his face as your hands snaked around him for comfort.
Eddie hummed in satisfaction, practically melting into you.
“Nothing hurts. In fact, I feel great and I think we should just skip the nurse's office and the rest of the school day to be honest.” You smile lovingly as you peer right into his big brown eyes.
“Are you sure you're okay?” He cautiously ran his eyes over your face again as he wiped the remainder of the blood off from under your nose.
“I am more than okay Eddie Munson.” You gripped his hand tightly as you started leading him to the exit. He happily followed you.
He looked over at you for a moment, “I'm sorry I got so mad earlier, a-and if I scared you o-or-.”
Your heart cracked slightly at the sadness in his voice, “Babe, don’t ever apologize for putting Jason Carver in his fucking spot. Plus I thought it was kinda hot. You know, you threatening to curse him and all.” You lightly shrugged as Eddie let out a bit of a snort, “They are all so gullible,”
And with that, you guys finally made it out of the school building and to Eddie's van where you proceeded to call your mom and tell her what happened, and you fully expected Eddie to be met with a big hug whenever you guys got back to your house.
“I swear I really think my mom might love you more than she loves me.” You giggled out, leaving Eddie laughing right along with you.
“What can I say? I guess I'm just a charmer.” A playful smirk resided on his face for the rest of the ride, as your hands were still tightly clamped together all the way up until you guys pulled into the driveway
“I love you, Eddie.” You sweetly spoke before getting out.
“I love you too Sweetheart.” a strong blush found its way onto Eddie's face.
You couldn't help but point it out, “It's not very metal of you to be blushing like that Munson.”
The redness only got worse, “You're making it worse.” He felt the warmness of his cheeks with his hands as he pouted.
“I'm sorry baby.”
“I forgive you.” Eddie kissed you gently on the lips.
Despite the events that had happened today, you both couldn't be happier.

———————————————————————————
If someone would have told you a month ago that you would be on a small wooden boat in Lovers Lake with Robin Buckley, Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler, and Eddie Munson to find a portal to another dimension called the upside-down, you would have probably referred them to a mental hospital; though here you were…
You had been thrown into the whole mess after you had become fast friends with Robin and Steve. You had gotten a job there not long after the two of them. They were both reluctant for you to begin work there, but for very different reasons. Steve had expected you to be like every other snobby cheerleader in Hawkins so he wasn't sure he was ready to deal with that, but Robin knew you were not like that…in fact, Robin had basically been in love with you for close to a year and she wasn't sure she could hold together her composure for the shifts you worked together.
You had always noticed how Robin fumbled over her words in nearly every sentence, but it hasn't crossed your mind that you were the cause of her nervousness, you assumed that Robin was just generally an anxious person and nothing else, and in fact, you found her stuttering to be adorable and you had been accustomed to hearing the small, nervous, laughs that came after she managed to finally get a whole sentence out.
You were currently sitting beside Nancy Wheeler, while Robin couldn't help but keep her gaze on you.
You were certainly the only oblivious one because it was easy for everyone else to see the adoration in Robin's eyes.
“Robin.” Steve quietly nudged the staring girl, causing her to finally break the trance she was in and as soon as Steve saw that he had pulled her attention he spoke again, “You okay?”
Robin took a deep breath, “Yeah it's just- it's just her.”
Her gaze immediately trailed back to your face, her heart contracting in her chest.
Steve followed Robin's gaze, “You’ll never know how she feels if you don’t put yourself out there.”
Despite being a hardass most of the time, Steve didn't like seeing Robin so torn up.
“You don’t get it. If she doesn't feel the same way about me, I could lose her. T-Then she will think I'm some kind of freak. I can’t go through that.” Robin knew she had so much more to focus on right now than her love life, but she couldn't help it when you were just there, looking all beautiful right in front of her face.
Steve was about to say something else, but the compass Nancy was holding began to suddenly go haywire.
All Five of you guys immediately pulled your attention to what was currently happening. Robin had radioed Dustin to relay what was going on and before anyone could really do anything Steve began removing his shirt and shoes, “There is only one way to find out if the gate is actually down here.”
Nancy was the first to protest, but it was really no use as a couple seconds later Steve was diving to the bottom of Lovers Lake.
You decided to move to sit next to Robin noticing her uneasiness, “He will be okay.”
She simply gave you a nod, choosing to avoid another inevitable rant that would spill from her lips if she began to talk.
Steve had now been under the water for close to a minute when he suddenly popped up out of the water, halfway scaring everyone on the boat.
He was quick to tell everyone he had found the portal, though the look on his face changed to one of fear when he felt something grab his leg. It had all happened too fast for anyone to do anything except watch him get dragged away.
“St-Stay here.” Nancy's voice was shaking as she jumped in after Steve, leaving everyone in shock.
It seemed obvious to you, that you had no choice but to jump in as well. Whatever was lurking down there that had taken Steve might need more than two people to fight off.
“What do you say, Buckley?” You held your hand out for her as she had already been standing up to do the same thing you were going to.
“Nancy says stay here! What happened to her being in charge!” Eddie was hysterical at this point, clearly not wanting to dive in the water like he suspected he would be doing.
“I made that shit up.” Robin slightly laughed as she connected her hand with you.
Then before you knew it, you were being sucked through the red glowing portal at the bottom of the lake.
You weren't sure what you were expecting but fighting off Demon bats wasn't something you foresaw in your near future, nonetheless, the four of you had managed to pull the bats from Steve, leaving a wound engraved into both his sides.
You aggressively swung a broken oar at the bats, trying to keep them away from you.
You had managed to kill two of them, and after Steve viciously killed the last one near him, the monsters settled around the portal as if they were guarding it.
“Come on guys!” Nancy ushered you guys to the tree line in hopes of some kind of shelter, which you guys had found at skull rock.
It was also then that Steve's injuries had taken a bigger toll on him. Again, Nancy was the first one to his side.
You had noted in your brain to ask Steve what was going on with him and Nancy because clearly there was some…tension.
Robin tried her best to humor Steve, as you watched in amusement. You had always loved Robin's ability to make any situation just a little bit better.
Eventually, Nancy had gotten Steve back to good health, leaving the five teenagers to debate their next move.
“What if we go to the police station? We could steal guns and grenades, and like whatever we need.” Robin has suggested, and honestly at this point that was their best option.
Steve had come back with a comment about the Hawkins PD not having grenades, making everyone shake their head just a little.
“We don't even have to go all the way to the police department for guns, I have guns.” Everyone was a bit taken back by this piece of information. You hadn't expected Nancy Wheeler to be a gun kind of girl, but you guess it made sense after everything she had seen for the past few years.
After some back and forth they had seemed set on going to Nancy's house, but not before Eddie prevented himself from ruining a moment between Steve and Nancy by throwing his sleeveless jean jacket right at Steve's face, “For your modesty man.”
You couldn't help but let out a small giggle, that was until the ground beneath your feet began to violently shake.
Your immediate reaction was to break Robin's fall as soon as you saw her beginning to tumble over. You grabbed her waist tightly as both of you fell to the ground, your head meeting the side of a pointy rock.
Robin's heart had been running a hundred miles a second as she felt your hands on her waist, and the fact you had just saved her from hitting the ground made her feel like her heart just might explode.
“Are you okay?” Even though you figured your forehead was now bleeding, you just wanted to make sure she was okay.
Robin immediately turned over to face you, eyes wide as she saw the blood running down your face. “You're bleeding.” her voice was dripping with concern.
“It's just a scratch, I'm okay.” You honestly believed what you were saying, Robin however did not, “You are gonna need stitches, this is not a scratch.”
Seeing the worry on Robin's face convinced you that you should lift your hand to feel the cut, and when you could feel the gash on your head you realize it probably would need stitches.
“Okay, maybe it needs stitches.” You wince slightly.
“Don't ever do that again okay? T-That rock could have hit the back of your head and killed you!” Robin had now become a bit hysterical as worst-case scenarios played out in her head.
“Robin, if I didn't catch you, it would have been in the back of your head. I’d much rather have a cut on my forehead than you bleeding out all over the ground because of a stupid rock!” You had also now begun to feel the emotions swirling inside of you.
Ultimately Robin knew you were right, but it didn't hurt any less than the girl she loved now was hurt because of her.
“Can you stand?” Robin decided to back away from the argument, hoping to preserve some kind of peace.
You thought about the questions for a moment, “Yeah, I think so.” With that, you attempted to stand up, and you had done pretty well until a dizzy spell had washed over you.
You stumbled slightly, “Woah, Woah… I’ve got you.” Robin steadies you, allowing the dizziness to wear off.
You were suddenly hyper-aware of Robin's hands gripping your waist, as to make sure you weren't going to topple over again. The feeling swirling through your stomach was a familiar one, and it was also one you found yourself feeling more and more around Robin.
“Thank you.” Your voice was shy as the group began to move further into the woods towards Nancy's house.
Robin had ended up wandering towards the front of the group while Steve purposely staggered behind so he could end up next to you.
“You know she loves you right.” Steve's voice was quiet but sincere.
“W-What?” Your heart rate had gone wild in your chest and you were sure that it might just bust right through your ribcage. You knew exactly who Steve was referring to.
“Look I'm only telling you this because I know you are a good person, and even if you don't feel the same way about her, you would never look at her any different,” He sighed, “But if you don't feel that way about her just please back off a little. She would be devastated if she thought that some cheerleader was just using her because she was a bit curious…I'm asking you not to do that to her.”
You couldn't help but let the comment sting a bit, but you knew you couldn't blame him for only trying to protect his best friend.
“I really like her, Steve. I'm sure you noticed since you brought up all of this, but it isn't just some curiosity. I've been into her ever since a basketball game a while back, and I helped her pick up some sheet music off the ground,” You smiled thinking back to the fond memory of the first time you guys had met.
Steve's eyes widened, “Oh shit, I've heard that story at least three hundred times.”
Suddenly your chest felt all warm at the fact Robin had cherished that moment just as you had.
“Okay so maybe I was a bit quick to judge, but just be careful with her okay? She truly believes that someone is ever gonna love her, so please prove her wrong.” He was now looking directly at you
“I'll take care of her, I promise.” It was clear that you held nothing but genuine feelings for Robin.
Eventually, Steve wandered back up to Nancy while you slowly walked just a bit behind everyone, debating on how you would confess to Robin that you loved her.
After realizing that there were no guns in Nancy's house and then figuring out a way to communicate with the kids still in the normal world, you guys were able to make it all the way to Eddie's trailer, right in front of a portal back home.
As soon as you had managed to fall through the portal and onto an old mattress, everyone began ushering you and Steve both to the hospital. It was only a short distance so the kids biked while you, Eddie, Steve, Robin, and Nancy borrowed Eddie's uncle's old car and drove there.
“Are we sure this is necessary?” You questioned while you guys pulled into the hospital parking lot.
Robin damn near twisted a sprain in her neck to look at you, “This is very necessary! Steve could have rabies and well you could have some weird fungus in your head because of that rock, not to mention you are still bleeding. If you lose very much more blood you will start to run out and I don't think any of us know how to do a blood transfusion so I would appreciate it if you would get out of the damn car so we can make sure you are okay!” Despite the long-winded ramble, Robin held a not so sane smile on her face.
You weren't sure whether to be frightened or amazed, but either way, you decided to get out of the car and follow everyone into the hospital.
Steve had gotten called back first, Nancy following closely behind him.
Then it was your turn.
“Y/n Y/l/n.”
You looked at Robin with a nervous look on your face, you had hoped she had gotten the hint that you wanted her to come with you. Though she was oblivious as you could see the confused look on her face, “C-Could you m-maybe come back with me.” You continued, “Y-You just make me feel calm I guess.”
Her eyes immediately lit up. It was endearing to Robin's heart that you wanted comfort from her. She was t exactly sure how you found calmness in her constant nervous behavior, but she wasn’t going to question it.
“Yeah, of course.” She smiled while standing up.
“If you guys wanna wait for a little we can all go back to my house when we are done. My parents are out of town.” You told Dustin, Max, and Lucus before you were whisked away behind the hospital doors.
The doctor had seen you pretty quickly, and luckily Robin was happy to hold your hand while they stitched you up.
“All done Ms. Y/l/n. The stitches will dissolve on their one, so no need to worry about coming back in. You guys are free to go whenever the Nurse comes back with your medication.” The doctor left the room, sending you both a small wave bye.
“Thank you for everything Robin, I honestly don’t know how I would ever make it without you.” Robin's heart fluttered at the comment and her nerves had suddenly returned full force.
“Robin.”
“Y-Yeah.”
“You are shaking.” You pointed out her hands that were visibly shaking while they rested on her knees.
Robin tried to stop the nervous shaking, but it had only gotten worse as you moved closer to her. “I-Uh-I just-I'm sorr.” You couldn't help yourself from crashing into her lips.
Every word that Steve had spoken earlier rushed back through your memory, and you helped but let all of the admiration and love pour out in the form of a kiss.
Robin's lips were completely still for a few moments, as she had realized what was happening. She had never actually kissed someone like this before, so she tried to follow your lead.
Just as quick as the moment had started, it had ended when both of you heard the door click to open. You both abruptly pulled away and sat in silence for the next few minutes while the nurse gave you the instructions for your medicine and sent you on your way.
Robin grabbed your hand in hers as you walked out of the room.
“I love you.” She halfway whispered.
“I love you too Robin.” You leaned into her side as you were walking causing her to just completely throw her arm around you.
As you made your way back to the waiting room a question found its way into the forefront of Robin's head, “Steve had something to do with this, didn't he?” She thought back to the tense conversation she saw you guys had back in the upside-down.
“Yep.”
“I'm totally gonna kick his ass later,” She laughed, “But I guess I owe him a thank you.” Her eyes drifted to you one more time, placing a small kiss on the top of your head.
“I think this just means you get to return the favor, and let Nancy know how in love Steve is with her.” You giggled softly.
“I think I just fell even more in love with you.

Hey, could you do one where male reader is meeting robins parents but they're both nervous but robins trying to convince him it's all gonna turn out fine (you can add your own points to it if you want) thank you !
Hi!! I love this idea but I’m not comfortable writing Robin with a male reader! This is because she is canonically a lesbian and I feel like it would be invalidating her sexuality! If you want me to do this prompt with a female reader just send me another ask please <333 (p.s. if you meant this in a platonic way I’m sorry and I just misunderstood the ask!)

———————————————————————————
You were anxiously waiting in your living room for a knock at the door.
You had invited Robin over to stay the night with you for the first time. Sure you guys had stayed with each other well into the night, but one of you had always had to leave before the sun came up mostly for the fact you were afraid your parents would catch you.
It was an entirely different situation now as you had moved into your own small little house since you graduated last May. You had taken extra shifts at the hospital you work at and saved up for a whole year to put a downpayment on something and finally your hard work had paid off. The house was very small and not in the greatest shape, but it was yours. You refused to have Robin over until this point because the house was still unfinished. You wanted her to see the final product, and so here you were just nervously waiting by the door.
It was only a few minutes later that there was a series of knocks and you knew exactly who it was. Nerves aside you ran to the door and swung it open revealing Robin standing with a small plant in her hand.
“Isn't this what people usually buy for a housewarming gift? I know you have already moved in and everything but I still feel like I should get you something so I bought you a plant.” An awkward smile rested on her face, one you had quickly learned you loved.
“Thank you.” You gave her a warm smile while you pulled her inside and shut the door.
Robin took a second to look around the house, immediately noting how much work you had clearly put into this.
“Y/n this is so awesome.” Her smile was now less awkward and more relaxed.
You let out a breath, you hadn't even noticed you were holding, “I was worried you wouldn't like it.”
She seemed taken back that you would ever think she wouldn't like something that you had done, “You are crazy. I love it!”
You let out a small giggle as you take the plant from her hands and set it on the ledge in the window placed right above the sink.
“I'm sorry I haven't let you come over yet, I just wanted you to see it when it was finished.” You said honestly, feeling a bit guilty as you turned around to face her.
Her face softened, “I understand. The wait was completely worth it.” Robin took a few steps forward, placing her hands in yours, “So what do we have planned for the night?”
You suddenly got very excited, “Oh my goodness, I forgot to tell you! We are baking!” Your eyes were wide with joy.
This is something you two had talked about often. You had always wanted to take your time to bake something together, but it wasn't really something you had gotten to do yet.
“You remembered,” Robin spoke sweetly.
“How could I forget? This was at least in the top five on our bucket list of things we were gonna do when I got this place.” You guys had made that list almost 2 months ago, but it was still very much in the forefront of your brain.
You had every intention of checking off everything on the list within the next few months.
“You still have the list?” Robin was halfway shocked that you had kept it, but oh was she so happy you did.
You nodded your head towards the refrigerator where Robin quickly noticed the familiar piece of paper. She almost tripped trying to get to it, luckily you were able to steady her balance making sure she didn't hit the ground. You both shared a laugh as her eyes finally settled on the paper.
1. Move in together
2. Have VERY loud sex
3. Finally, stay the night with each other
4. Bake something together (like in those cheesy rom coms)
5. Buy a dog
6. Host movie night
7. Convince Nancy and Steve to come over for a double date
“I think we can manage to get this checked off.” Robin's hands gently traced over the writing.
You had been wanting to ask her something, and now was as good a time as ever, “You know you do graduate next month, and you turned 18 a few months ago. So y-you know I was thinking maybe in June you could move in here, i-if you want to.”
Your stomach turned while waiting for her response, “Of course I want to! You have no idea how happy you just made me.” She pulled you into a tight hug. She was quite a bit taller than you so her chin naturally rested on your head.
You wanted to relive this moment a hundred times over again because your heart just felt so very happy.
“We better get baking before I get all emotional.” You laughed while pulling away from Robin's grasp.
She understood where you were coming from considering she could feel herself getting emotional as well. Never in a million years did Robin think she would get to experience this kind of love, and even though you guys were happy she knew deep down you could never show in public how in love you were, not without getting shunned. That's why you felt it was so important to get your own place. You and Robin finally had a place where you could just be…together.
“So what's on the menu?” Robin let the sad thoughts leave her brain, choosing to think about how much fun they were about to have.
You walked over to the cabinet pulling out a box of cupcake mix making Robin's eyes go wide in excitement, “Buttercream frosting?” She questioned.
“What else?” You both had come to an agreement long ago that the only icing you both could agree was good was buttercream.
You both jumped right into getting the ingredients ready. Robin slipped off her jacket, leaving her in a baggy shirt and sweatpants allowing her to feel truly at home.
You both worked surprisingly well with each other, mixing all the ingredients as the box said. Things had only got tricky when you had gotten flour all over your hands and your hair was currently all in your face.
Robin watched you struggle for a few minutes in amusement before she gently grabbed your shoulder, “I've got it covered don’t worry babe.” Her hands smooth your hair back into place as she attempts her best at braiding. She hadn't gotten enough practice on french braiding yet but she was semi-confident she could do a regular one.”
A few hairs were falling out of the braid, but you didn't care because the fact alone that Robin had taken it upon herself to learn to braid was enough to make it absolutely perfect, “You really are the best girlfriend anyone could ever ask for.” You smiled brightly letting the braid rest on your shoulder.
Blood immediately rushed to Robin's cheeks, causing her to instantly warm up from the comment, “I don't understand why I still blush.'' She was slightly embarrassed.
You simply kissed her blushing cheek, letting out a faint laugh as you both began concentrating on the cupcakes again.
Eventually, you guys popped the cupcakes into the oven, hoping that you had mixed all of the ingredients correctly.
About 15 minutes had gone by when a great idea popped into your head, “You have some batter on your face.” You pointed out to Robin knowing fully well there was nothing on her face.
She started wiping her hands across her face trying to find the spot, “I don't think I got it.” She frowned.
“Here let me.” You slowly moved in closer to Robin, placing your lips against hers.
Robin was quick to realize there was never anything on her face, but she didn't particularly mind as she was quite enjoying her current situation.
It had been way too long since the last time you guys had kissed, and you were enjoying every single moment of it.
As your lips began to move faster against hers, she used her hands to turn you and push you against the counter, allowing her to kiss you more deeply. The kiss became sloppy as your hands began to roam.
“Jump,” Robin whispered against your lips, as she caught a few seconds of air.
You listened to her and hoisted yourself to sit on the counter. Your legs wrapped flush around her waist as you began making out again. Her lips had now moved to your jawline, peppering you with kisses, leaving you flustered. If there was one thing Robin knew that made you weak in the knees it was neck kisses.
You were very aware that Robin knew what she was doing to you so you decided to play the same game.
Your fingers found Robin's hair gently tugging on it every time she would leave a particularly long kiss on your neck. She had been surprised at first, letting out a soft groan against your wet skin.
While your hands continued to wrap themselves in her hair, Robin's hands found your hips, gently grabbing them.
This immediately sent a pulse through your entire body, and you couldn't help but let out a small moan.
You had been just about ready to take Robin's shirt off of her when the oven started beeping very loudly.
“Shit the cupcakes.” Robin was nearly out of breath as she peeled herself off of you.
“Stupid fucking cupcakes.” You laughed as Robin helped you off the counter, your bodies still close together.
The sexual tension had slightly dissipated as you began decorating the cupcakes with the icing, however, you both had realized your mistake when the icing was just melting right off the cupcakes.
“We definitely should have waited.” You pointed out as the last cupcake was done being frosted. Even that one now just had a thin glaze of icing left on it.
The cupcakes turned out tasting pretty decent despite the melted frosting, but it was clear both you and robin had gotten increasingly sleepy in the last 20 minutes.
“Well after tonight we will officially have two things marked off the bucket list,” You smiled while tugging her to your bedroom.
Robin couldn't help but bring up what had happened in the kitchen earlier, “We could have had three items checked off but those damn cupcakes interrupted us.”
Your mind wanders back to earlier in the kitchen, and the feeling of robin's hands traveling your body, “Don't worry we will have plenty of chances to check that one off the list.” in saying this you had successfully pulled robin into your bed.
Her heart was currently overfilled with all kinds of emotions, but mostly love, “I love you Y/n”
“I love you too Robin.”
Minutes later both of you were passed out in each other's arms, and for once you both knew that you would get to wake up together as well.
It was safe to say that this was the best feeling in the entire world.

Thinking about making a mini series out of this. Maybe one chapter per one thing on the bucket list?? I don’t know, tell me if you guys are interested!! I’d appreciate it <3

———————————————————————————
Steve Harrington was currently in his car outside of your house, debating on if he should get out and knock on the door or not. He knew your parents weren't home tonight, but it was currently 1 in the morning, and he wasn't even sure if you were still awake.
He had gotten in a particularly grueling fight with his dad, leaving him with a split lip and bruised ribs. Steve and his dad fought quite a bit, but it had never gotten that bad.
Naturally, you were the first person that came to his mind, knowing you could instantly calm his nerves, but he had also forgotten the two of you were not currently on speaking terms.
It started a week ago when you had accidentally overheard Steve talking about you to Robin basically confessing his love for you. You had tried to talk about it with him, but he hadn't given you a chance before he rambled off some shitty excuse that ‘he would never be into you and that you were ‘crazy for thinking that had ever come out of his mouth’.
Of course, none of those words held any truth, but you had no clue Steve simply said that to avoid the inevitable outcome that you just didn't love him as he loved you. He couldn't bear the thought of losing you as a friend…which ironically had happened anyways.
He had been pretty quick to realize how much of an idiot he was when you stormed out of a family video with tears in your eyes. He had tried to stop you, but it was no use.
So now he had two options.
Go drive around until he finds a place to park his car and go to sleep.
Knock on your door and deal with his feelings.
The first option was most certainly the easiest, but he knew you at least deserved to know the truth, and with that revelation he walked up to your front door, wincing with every step he took.
The first knock was soft, hoping that maybe if you didn't answer the door he could say he tried and avoid this whole situation.
His hand moved reluctantly back to the door to knock again but before he was able to the door was pulled open revealing you standing there with wide eyes.
The last thing you had been expecting was for Steve Harrington to show up on your doorstep looking like he had just got beaten up after a week of not talking. ANy anger you had held for the boy dissipated within seconds when you saw the defeated look on his face.
“Steve, w-what 's going on?” You stood aside letting him know it was okay to come into the house.
He stepped in with a sigh, “I-uh-I just-.” He completely blanked. Not knowing exactly how to say how he was feeling, which is something he often found difficulty with.
“You can't just show up at 1 am all beaten up after you majorly insulted me barely even a week ago and not tell me what's going on.” There was still no anger present on your face.
Steve could feel himself start to break. His words had affected you more than he had realized and on top of everything going on with his dad…it was a lot.
“Dad and I got in a fight and it escalated. I-I wasn't really sure where to go.” His voice was low and he refused to make eye contact with you as he focused on his fidgeting hands.
“God, I'm such an ass.” You mumbled quietly to yourself regretting everything you had just said a moment ago, “I-I’m sorry, I had no idea. A-Are you okay?” Usually, conversations flowed easily between the two of you, but you were struggling to find the right words.
“Please don't apologize. If anyone should be apologizing it's me.” He had decided to avoid the ‘are you okay’ question for now, mostly because he honestly didn't know the answer.
“Steve, we don't have to w-worry about that right now, it's late. I'll just get you fixed up and-” you attempted to derail the subject trying to avoid getting your heart stomped all over again, but Steve was quick to interrupt, “No I need to worry about it now. I need to tell you the truth.” He had now taken a step closer to you, hoping you could see that he was being genuine.
“Listen I get it okay, I don't know why I would ever think you would be in love with me. Let's please not relieve my embarrassment, okay? I'm over it.” You tried in the gentlest way possible to end the conversation, but it was clear Steve had very different plans.
“Y/n please listen to me. I'm literally the biggest idiot on the face of the planet. I-I am in love with you! I just said all that shit because I was afraid of your reaction…Afraid that you would tell me you didn't love me like I loved you, and that our friendship wouldn't work now. I was so fucking stupid because we haven't even talked in a week and here I am bringing this mess into your life.” He had gone off on a bit of a tangent, feeling almost like he couldn't stop sharing the way he felt now that it was finally out in the open.
Your heart was currently doing flips inside your chest, immediately feeling with relief and happiness, “Yeah you really are an idiot because I could have told you a week ago that I loved you too.”
To say Steve was surprised was an understatement, “Y-You love me?” He swore he could cry right now.
“Yeah, I do.”
Suddenly everything just felt a little bit heavier. The reality of what had gone down just really set it. “I-I'm sorry for just springin’ all of this on you. I should have just dealt with it on my own.” He couldn't even allow himself time to be happy about the fact that you loved him back.
Your heart felt like it could shatter any moment knowing this is how Steve truly felt, almost as if he were a burden.
“Steve Harrington, I don't wanna hear that ever come out of your mouth ever again. You don't have to deal with any of this on your own. I love you for a reason, so let me be here for you.” Steve almost melted on the sweet sound of your voice reassuring him.
The only thing he could focus on was the look on your face, and specifically how bad he wanted to kiss you.
“Nope. Steve, stop looking at me like that! I know what you are about to do and I'm not letting our first kiss be all bloody.” You pointed to the fresh blood still coming from the inside of his lip.
Warmth immediately spread to his face, slightly embarrassed that you had noticed how much he was staring at your lips.
“C-Can I use your shower?” He half-smiled.
Several minutes later Steve had gotten into the shower and you had made your way to your bedroom taking in a deep breath.
Despite the happiness that you two had shared, learning that you loved one another, there was still the reason he really showed up at your house in the first place. So you made a mental note to test the waters and see if he was up to talking about it though you had almost lost every thought in your head when Steve walked into your room with wet hair and no shirt.
Your eyes were glued to his chest, unable to think properly.
Steve was quick to notice where your line of vision, “Y/n! Don't look at me like that!” He gasped while dramatically pulling his arms over his chest to give himself some coverage.
You should have probably seen that one coming, “Okay, you got me.”
For the first time all night, Steve had actually cracked a real smile, immediately sending one to your face as well.
“Come sit.” Your voice was more serious after the laughter died down.
Steve didn't hesitate even a second before he was sitting closely next to you, his thigh touching yours.
“Please talk to me.” Steve knew exactly where this was going.
He wasn't sure if it was your gentle voice or the fact it was just you and him but he felt safe to share what had happened, “You know how much of an asshole dad is. We can never agree on anything and ever since I started paying for all of my own things I stood up a bit more and I guess he had just had enough. I'm honestly not surprised it happened, it just hurts like a bitch.” The last part was meant to be light-hearted but you couldn't help but let your eyes drift to his swollen lip and then to his bruised side.
“Fuck him. You deserve way more than both your mom and your dad,” you were making contact with him now, “I know it was hard for you to tell me how you were feeling tonight but I just want you to know how much it means to me that you trust me enough to talk about this stuff. I love you endlessly and I always will.” your hand gently caressed the side of his face. He leaned his head deeper into your hold and shut his eyes for a moment.
“Y/n?”
“Yes?”
“Can I please kiss you now?”
You simply nodded your head as he leaned in fully this time. Your lips gently connected, moving perfectly slow. You both had thought about kissing each other countless times, so you were careful not to rush the moment and truly just enjoy being this close to each other.
Your hands traveled to the back of his neck, your fingers running through his hair.
His hands had wrapped themselves snuggly around your waist, pulling you both deeper into the kiss.
Butterflies were swirling wildly in your stomach as Steve began smiling into the kiss, which then caused you to do the same. Your foreheads came together as you both held smiles on your faces.
“As much as I just want to stay like this forever, we should probably get you into some clothes.” You were giddy as you hesitantly pulled out of his grasp.
You walked over to your dresser pulling out a shirt he had left at your house a few weeks ago.
You tossed it gently to him for him to throw on, but he must have tried to put it on too quickly because he let out a loud wince.
“Easy there, pretty boy.” You smiled while pulling the shirt the rest of the way over him so he could gently put his arms back down without any more pain.
When you could see his face again, he was blushing terribly mostly because of the nickname you had let slip out so easily.
“Don't ever stop calling me that.” He hummed in contentment, pulling you back onto the bed with him.
This time you were both lying down, you cuddled into Steve as much as you could without hurting his side.
“I love you,” He tenderly whispered in your ear as his body finally melted into yours.
“And I love you, Steve Harrington.”
“What happened to pretty boy?”
“You're always my pretty boy.”

———————————————————————————
You had no idea where to go or what to do as you were walking down your street in the pouring rain, silently sobbing.
You had never tried imagining the moment that your parents found out that you liked girls and you certainly hadn’t imagined them finding out you had a girlfriend.
Unfortunately, that's exactly what had happened almost an hour ago. Your parents had been going through your room and found a polaroid of you and Robin, her kissing you on the cheek with a huge smile on both of your faces. That was enough proof for your parents to completely lose their shit.
There had been no warning whatsoever when your parents stormed down the stairs, your father immediately getting in your face.
Your stomach turned as the sick words your father had spoken to you replayed in your head. The words, however, were not even close to the worst part, because as you were walking in the rain your face and body were throbbing in pain. Your father had first struck you across the face with a closed fist, effectively busting your lip open. Then came the second hit aimed more closely towards your right cheek, then finally the shove into the kitchen table, leaving you with a gash on the side of your head. Luckily the blood running down your face must have startled your father because it allowed you enough time to bolt out of the house…which is how you ended up in your current predicament.
Robin's house was too far to walk to, as well as Steves. So your only option was to just walk as far away from that hell hole you were supposed to call home as possible.
Your current situation really set in when your body began to shake from the wet rain and you got a bit woozy from the cut on your head. You had also realized that you were very alone, and if you succumbed to the dizziness you would be left helplessly freezing in the rain, passed out.
“When it rains it pours.” You frustratingly slowed your walking to a stop as tears began running down your face, mixing in with the rain that had already been sitting on your cheeks.
You had been ready to give up when you noticed headlights shining closely behind you. You ignored them at first, but the car got closer revealing a very confused-looking Steve Harrington.
You had never been so happy to see him.
Once he confirmed that the rain-drenched person on the side of the road was you, he immediately jumped out of the car, “Y/N what the hell are you doing out here?”
You simply didn't have the energy to muster any words, so instead you just turned to him hoping your current injuries were enough to explain.
To say that Steve was angry was an understatement as he scanned over your face taking in the injuries, “Who the fuck did this?” his voice was dripping in hatred.
“Dad.” you weren't really sure what else to say.
“I swear to god I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch.” You had never seen Steve so angry, but it didn't scare you. In fact, it gave you some comfort knowing you at least had friends that cared about you.
“Can you kill him later, I'd really like to get out of the rain.” You were halfway joking, trying to dissolve some of the tension, but you really were freezing cold.
Steve's eyes widened, immediately realizing he had just let you stand in the rain for longer than you had to. Within seconds he had ushered you to the car.
The dryness of the car gave you some relief, but your body was still trembling from the cold.
Steve quickly got in the driver's seat, already knowing the place you guys were gonna go.
“We are gonna go to Robins okay?” Steve spoke gently, hoping that you'd be okay with going to see your girlfriend because this was definitely not something he could keep from Robin if you had asked him to.
Luckily, seeing her is exactly what you wanted right now despite the guilt that started bubbling up in your stomach, “God she is gonna be so mad at me.” Steve immediately started to say something but you continued, “M-My parents, they found a polaroid I had of us. I shouldn't have even had it there, but I just wanted something to remind me of her. N-Now they are probably going to ruin both of our lives and it's all my fault.” You were now sobbing.
Steve wasn’t used to comforting people but he knew for certain that Robin Buckley was going to be majorly pissed off, just most definitely not at you.
“Robin would never be upset at you for something like that, you know that.” He sighed, “We are gonna figure everything out when we get to her house but I promise no one's life is getting ruined.” Steve seemed eerily adamant on that, but you chose to pay no attention to it.
You slowly nodded your head and slumped over against the window. Sleep consumed you within minutes despite the worrying going on in your brain.
Several minutes later Steve had finally pulled into Robin's driveway. Thankfully the rain had slowed into a sprinkle as he ran up to her door leaving you soundly asleep in his car.
He banged very aggressively on the door hoping Robin got the memo for the urgency, and that she did because moments later the door harshly swung open.
“Thank god.” Steve breathed a sigh of relief.
“What the fuck?” Robin was clearly confused as to why Steve had been relentlessly pounding on her door.
Steve looked back over his shoulder to the car to make sure you were still asleep before looking back to Robin, “I found Y/N wandering on the side of the road in the pouring rain. Something bad happened to her, Robin.” He tried beating around the bush, feeling like this was something you should be telling Robin and not him.
Steve had severely underestimated Robins ability to stay calm when it came to you, “What- What do you mean something bad happened? Is she okay? Oh my god…oh my god Steve, is she hurt- or- or dead? I cannot function without her!” Robin's breathing quickened a concerning amount.
“For Christ's sake Robin, no she isn't dead, she is in my car! Her parents found out about you guys and her dad beat the shit out of her!” The sentence just slipped out of his mouth, and anger started to resurface as the last part of the sentence hung in the air.
Robin didn't say anything else and ran to Steve's car that was parked in the driveway. She could now see your bloodied face through the window, panic making a permanent settlement in her body.
She gently opened the car, careful to make sure you didn't fall out of the car. The moment of the door however had been enough to startle you awake, the first thing in your line of vision being Robin.
“Let's get you inside pretty girl.” She softly spoke, supporting most of your weight as she wrapped her arm around your waist to help you inside the house.
Her presence alone had made your problems feel significantly smaller.
The warmth inside of Robin's small trailer felt even better than Steve's car, but it hadn't been enough to make you stop shaking.
“God, you're freezing.” Robin gasped while beginning to run her hands up and down your arms, attempting to generate some more heat. “I have some clothes you can put on.”
You followed her to her room while Steve sunk into the couch, worry still etched deeply onto his features.
Robin helped you change out of your wet clothes and into a hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. Robin's smell immediately swallowed your hoke when the clothes were finally on you, sending a warm feeling to your stomach.
“Please tell me what happened.” Her voice was rough with emotion while she looked as intently at you as possible.
No matter how bad you wanted to forget the entire day, there was just something about Robin that made you feel like you could tell her anything, “My dad found that polaroid of us, and it didn't end very well for me as you can probably see.” You painfully cracked a smile, “they have probably either called a psych ward to get me admitted or are throwing all my things onto the lawn.” Your voice was more serious now. “I-Its all my fault, and now they know about you too. I-i know they are gonna tell people.” a single tear now slipped down your bruised cheek not only in fear for yourself but for Robin too, knowing that your mother and father could very well make them both town pariahs.
Robin's hands gently cupped your face, “My sweet girl, don't ever apologize for your parent's actions. You have such a beautiful soul and you are exactly who you were meant to be. I-I know I'm not the best at trying to comfort people but i-i pinky promise we will figure something out. Hell, you can move in with me! My mom already knows about us and she loves you!”
For saying she couldn't comfort people very well, she was pretty damn good at it.
“I love you so much.” You sadly smiled, leaning further into her hold as you locked in the pinky promise.
She softly places a kiss on the side of your head that wasn't injured, “I love you too.” she took a deep breath, “Now let's get that head of yours cleaned up.
And that's what she did. Taking a warm washcloth she slowly but surely got all the blood off your face that had been smeared by the rain. Within 10 minutes you were done.
“Much better.” You hummed in contentment as the washcloth was discarded.
Robin made her way back over to you, sitting down. She simply brought her lips to yours, giving you both some much-needed comfort.
Your lips moved perfectly in sync with one another as Robin's hands found themselves wrapping snuggly around your waist.
Eventually, you both had to come up for air, “You know I guess kisses really do make boo-boos feel better.” You giggled, pulling Robin down completely on the bed.
“Oh really?” Her lips connected to yours again, letting out a light giggle.
Your heart was full of love.
After several moments of kissing Robin had realized something, “We left poor Steve in the living room by himself.”
You felt a bit guilty, “We should let him know I'm okay.”
Robin wrapped her arm around your waist as you made your way to the living room, seeing Steve completely passed out on the couch.
After covering him up with a blanket and making sure all the doors were locked, Robin pulled you back to her bedroom and into her bed.
It didn't take long for you to be cuddled up in the arms of the girl you were very much in love with, and very proud to call yours.

You guys had been walking for what felt like forever. Dustin was in the front with the compass reassuring everyone that something was finally happening while the rest of you trailed a little behind.
“Dustin? Can you slow down? Dustin?” Eddie chases after Dustin, not doing much of anything as Dustin almost walks into lovers lake.
You all looked at each other a bit confused as to why there would even be a gate in lovers lake.
“a gate into another dimension at the bottom of a lake. That's not terrifying at all.” You mumble while shaking your head.
Steve was right beside you, and as the words left your mouth he took a small step closer to you, hoping maybe that it would give you some type of peace of mind. You hadn't really thought much about it and continued to listen in on the conversation.
You all had come to the conclusion that much like the Demogorgon, Vecna left open gates wherever he attacked. This specific gate being caused by the death of Patrick.
“I guess there's only one way to find out.” and the old wooden boat was uncovered and not so gently put into the water.
You and Robin were the first to get in the boat, both of you earning a look from steve that clearly said ‘be careful’
Though the look he had for Robin was much different from the one he gave you. Hers was a concern for a best friend, and the one he held for you was a concern for the girl he was unequivocally in love with.
It was clear that the little boat would not hold more than a few people so with five grown teenagers now on it, it was pushing the limits.
Dustin, Lucas, and Max hadn't been very happy that they weren't allowed to join on the adventure, but everyone on that boat would do anything to keep them safe.
Steve was sitting closely next to you while Nancy, Robin, and Eddie were on the other end.
“You good.” Steve tried to talk softly, but it came out more in a rough tone.
“Yeah I'm good,” you gave him a reassuring smile before you looked out into the water, waiting patiently for something to happen.
It was only a few moments later when the compass started going haywire. All of their attention was then focused as the boat came to a stop.
The silence was interrupted by a radio from Dustin, clearly confused as to what was going on.
While everyone was focused on the compass, a very bright idea popped into your head, as you stood up taking off your shoes.
“Woah there, what the hell are you doing?” Steve's eyes were wider than you had ever seen, and there was concern plastered on his features.
“Someone has gotta go down there.” Before Steve could say anything else you continued, “I can hold my breath longer than any of you guys, and I've been a certified lifeguard for years.”
Steve only scoffed at your attempt to convince everyone you should go, “I'm not letting you go down there. You are out of your mind.”
“Steve, I'm very capable of handling myself. I understand you think I'm a fragile girl, but I'm good.” You almost snap at him, not knowing the real reason he was so adamant about you not going down there.
“Seriously Y/N! That's not why-.” He was unable to finish his sentence because you had dove straight into the water, flashlight in hand.
“Y/N!” His heart was now racing terribly fast as he damn near jumped off the boat.
“Steve, she can handle herself, it's fine.” Nancy reasoned with him as Robin sat him back down.
While everyone was nervously waiting for you to resurface you had finally found the bright red gate. You couldn't help the curiosity as you inched your hand closer to the opening, what you didn't expect was a moment, startling you enough to drop the flashlight and swim quickly to the surface again. Luckily you had just enough air left in your lungs to reach the top, immediately grabbing the side of the boat.
“I found it.” You announced.
Steve didn't even waste a second before he grabbed your hand, getting ready to pull you out of the water, that was until you felt something tugging on your legs, almost pulling you under again.
“Shit! Steve, don't let go of my hand.” You pleaded as you started to feel the tugging again.
Steve was now desperately trying to hold onto you, but your hands had been too slippery for you to get a good grip, and before anyone could help you were pulled right from his grasp and into the water, headed straight for the upside-down.
You tried to fight against whatever was wrapped around your leg but it was no use as you were now being roughly pulled through to the other side. The tugging didn't end there though because as soon as air was filled back into your lungs, your back was now on fire as it was viciously dragged over the rough ground until you were thrown up against something.
You were letting out heavy breaths as you painfully stood up from the ground, taking a look around what seemed to be lovers lake with no water.
It wasn't long before your attention was pulled to something flying in the sky headed straight for you. You didn't have much time to prepare for whatever was heading toward you so your best option was to grab a wooden paddle from the wrecked boat on the ground.
You swatted at the monster, yet it didn't do much good as two other ones came from different directions. They had effectively knocked you to the ground.
“Get Off!” you screamed painfully as one had its tail wrapped tightly around your neck. You weren't ready for what happened next when one of the bats sank its teeth and claws right into your side, followed by another doing the same thing.
“AH,” You were now screaming in agony as a blinding hot pain shot through you, and you had almost accepted your fate when Steve showed up.
All he could see was red when he saw you were being hurt. Between him, Nancy, Robin, and Eddie they had managed to get the last bat off of you.
You weren't sure if it was the adrenaline or something else that willed you to stand, but you did, helping as much as you could to fight off the bats.
A few moments passed and the bats seemed to settle around the gate blocking everyone off from going back to their dimension.
“Shit, shit, shit…are you okay.” Steve was now at your side, running his eyes up and down your entire body taking in all of your injuries.
“I think they took a little fresh but I'm okay.” You reassured him, honestly not feeling as bad as you probably should have as the adrenaline was coursing through your body.
“Guys come on!” Nancy began ushering them all into the tree line hoping for a little peace from the bats.
With Steve holding tightly onto your hand, you all ran as fast as you could to safety.
After you all had made it to skull rock, you started feeling the true effects of your injuries. You stepped away from the group a moment as your vision blurred, sending you falling into the side of the big rock.
“Y/N!” Steve rushed over to you, supporting the majority of your body weight, knowing you couldn't really hold yourself up.
“I-I’m good. Just got a little dizzy.” Your voice was small and painful.
Steve gently rested your body against the rock, getting a good look at your torso, “You're not okay, you're losing too much blood.” He was now panicking.
Before much else could happen Nancy ripped the fabric from some of her clothing and handed it to steve.
“Here, let's sit you down.” He gently wrapped his arms around you, allowing you to drop to the ground onto your knees. “I need to take your shirt off.” Steve blurted out, unsure of how to word it.
“Wow Harrington, don't you think you should ask me on a date first.” You tried to make light of this very shitty situation.
“Humor is intact, that's a good sign of not being infected with rabies.” Robin's nervous voice rang through the air, earning another small giggle from you.
Though you had been completely joking, it hit a little too close to home for Steve and the look on his face sent a curious thought through your head, though you didn't have much time to explore it because Steve was now lifting your mangled shift off your body leaving you only in a black bra. It was then that his hands had started to nervously shake and he was trying his best not to focus on how you looked in a bra.
“This is gonna hurt.” Steve was preparing you, fabric in hand ready to wrap around your waist.
“Please just get it over with.” You shut your eyes tightly, waiting for the contact to be made on your sore skin.
Steve tried being as gentle as possible, but every whimper you let out sent a crack through his heart.
“All done.” He finished the bandaging off with a small tie holding it in place, then gentling pulling you up off the ground making sure you could stand steadily.
You hadn't had a chance to thank him before he began taking his own shirt off. Even with the pain you were in, you couldn't help but stare at his bare chest for a moment, suddenly realizing how close the two of you truly were.
“Here put this on, your shirt is pretty done for.” He watches you struggle for a moment trying to get the shirt on without pain shooting through your side.
“C-Can you help me?” Your voice was timid, but Steve immediately helped get the shirt over your head and in the proper spot.
Your hair was now ruffled and covering your face, from the shirt going over your head and Steve couldn't stop himself from brushing it out of your eyes.
“Thank you, Steve, for everything.” He was now intensely looking at you, brain clearly going in overdrive.
An overwhelming amount of emotion had washed over him, immediately sending tears to the brim of his eyes.
“I'm sorry I couldn't hold on to your hand.” He was now recalling the moment you got pulled underwater.
You knew exactly where his mind was going, and you also knew that absolutely none of this was his fault, “Don't even go there. This is not your fault okay? You saved me.”
“I love you.” was all he could think to say.
“I love you too,” You uttered back, not understanding the connotation of what he just said.
He took your face into his hands, one resting on each cheek. “No Y/N, I love you, like I want to be with you.” He tried explaining as a warm heat crept up his neck and cheeks.
Your heart did a few flips in your chest immediately sending a sweet smile to your lips. Steve loved you and if the past day had made you realize anything it's that you most certainly love him too.
You had been so excited you forgot to say the words back to him, you immediately pulled him into a gentle kiss. He is mindful of your injuries and ops to run his fingers through your hair instead of wrapping his arms around your waist like he wanted to.
You abruptly pulled away from the kiss, realizing you hadn't said it back to him yet.
“Oh! Shit! I love you too.” You exclaimed.
His forehead fell against yours in laughter, “After we get out of all this, I'd very much like to take you on that date you were mentioning earlier.”
“I'd like that too Steve.”
The endearing moment was interrupted when a jean jacket harshly hit Steve in the side of the head, causing him to look in the direction it came from.
“Modesty man.”

———————————————————————————
Two weeks. That is how long it's been since you've talked to Robin. After the events that had gone down at your house two Fridays ago you had desperately tried to fix things between you two, but it had proven unsuccessful considering you hadn't even been able to find her at her house, school, or work.
Of course you didn’t blame her though, you knew how you had made her feel that night when all you could give her was silence. It didn't take you long to realize how stupid of a mistake you had made by letting her leave, letting your own insecurities get in the way of both of your guys' happiness.
So although you knew Robin clearly didn't want to talk to you, you refused to give up. Even if she didn't want to forgive you after all this you at least needed her to know that you did not see her as an embarrassment and in fact, you would be proud to show her off to people.
So here you were, currently pulling into the parking lot of Family Video…again. Though this time was different because it was a Tuesday and you knew no matter what Robin always worked on Tuesdays, and her bike sitting right in front of the store was clear proof she was in there.
You sat in your car for at least 10 minutes running over in your head what you were actually going to say to Robin, and you came to the conclusion that you really had no clue what you were doing.
With a deep breath, you hurried out of your car and into the store. You half expected Robin to be standing at the cash register, but to your dismay, she was not. Instead there stood Steve Harrington giving you a very dirty look.
“Great.” You sighed to yourself, making your way up to the counter.
“I need to talk to Robin.”
“She isn't here,” Steve said with a straight face, not knowing that you had seen her bike outside.
“Steve, I know she is here. She works every Tuesday.” You argued, knowing Steve was just covering for Robin.
“Well, she is sick.” This time Steve's straight face wasn't so straight. It was easy to tell he was trying to think of the best way to explain himself and Robin out of this situation
“Her bike is outside.” There was a very unamused look on your face.
“Shit.” He had given up on lying, but he hadn't given up on getting you to go away, “Look Y/N, don't you think you've hurt her enough? She doesn't need to relive you breaking her heart. Just leave the poor girl alone, she has been through enough.” Steve's voice was sad, knowing how much his best friend had been struggling.
Your heart was constricting in your chest, knowing the pain you had caused her, but you knew she had to know the truth. You just couldn't live with the fact that Robin could possibly think she was an embarrassment if not good enough.
“I'm not here to hurt her Steve, I promise she has it wrong okay? I-I screwed up and I froze, but I swear it wasn't because of her.” You were pleading at this point, hoping he would just let you talk to her.
Steve could see the genuine concern on your face and if there was a chance that his best friend could actually be with the girl she loved well then he wasn't going to stand in the way, “Technically I'm not supposed to leave this desk so if you happened to walk in the back while I'm not looking then I couldn't really stop you.” He shrugged his shoulders.
You gave him a relieved smile and quickly walked through the back doors. You hadn't expected to see her as soon as you opened the door, but there she was, sitting with her head lying in her hands.
“Robin.” Your voice was timid, hoping not to startle her.
“I'm gonna kill steve.” She lightly groaned while raising her head up to look at you, “Did you really have to come here just to rub everything in my face Y/N? I get it okay, you don't want to be with me and that's fine.” Her words felt like ice, sending a shiver down your spine.
“No, you don't get it. You have it wrong.” You took a step closer to her, “I froze that night, but it wasn't because of you. It was me, I was afraid that I wouldn't be good enough for you. You deserve the absolute world Robin and I wasn't sure I could live up to that,” you felt tears sting your eyes, “But I really want to try.”
Robin's eyebrows immediately furrowed in confusion, “Y/N you don't even want to be seen with me.”
You shook your head, “That's not true I swear, I know my actions caused you to feel that way but I'm not embarrassed by you. I want everyone to know how damn lucky I am to even be in your presence.”
You took an even closer step towards her, now taking her hands and gripping them strongly.
“I'm sorry for bothering you, but I couldn't just sit around while you thought I was embarrassed by you.”
Robin now had teary eyes as well, an overwhelming relief washing over her body. She didn't have it in her to argue any further, she instead opted to pull you into a hug.
“I'm so sorry I hurt you.” You were gripping so tightly around her waist, that you were afraid she might not be able to breathe.
“I forgive you.” Robin simply answers, bringing her lips to yours.
Unlike your previous kisses, this one truly meant something to both of you. It wasn’t rushed or sloppy. It was simply two people truly connecting.
It felt like forever before the two of you pulled away, “Would now be a good time to ask you to be my girlfriend.” You whisper sweetly into her ear, hoping she wouldn't think this was rushed.
“Who cares about timing? Of course I'll be your girlfriend.” Robin is a giggly mess and is now just completely melted into your arms.
“Okay love birds I get you guys are all happy now and everything but I need some help out here!” Steve's voice echoed through the back room.
“Whoops.” Robin smiled, throwing her hands up in a shrug.
The two of you then walked out of the back room, hand and hand for everyone to see.

———————————————————————————
It was finally Friday, your favorite day of the week. Friday was probably a lot of people's favorite day of the week because it marked the end of the school and work week, but not for you. Fridays were your favorite because you would spend the whole night with Robin Buckley doing things friends definitely shouldn't be doing together.
Your parents were almost always gone every weekend, whether it be a work thing or something casual they would always find a way to be out of the house. Sure it was sad that your parents didn’t really have any interest in spending time with you, but oh how you loved your empty house on a Friday night.
You were currently on your way to the football field as you had texted Robin almost 5 minutes ago to meet you under the bleachers. This has become a routine for both of you. You would text her around 2:15 every day to meet you under the bleachers, and then you guys would figure out the plans for the night.
“Robin!” You yelled in her direction as you finally found yourself under the metal bleachers.
Her head turned sharply, slightly startled by the noise. You were quick to notice that she was jumpier than usual.
“Sorry, didn't mean to startle you.” A small smile found its way onto your lips.
Robin's heart melted every time she saw you smile, especially when she knew you were smiling at her. She was aware when this started between the two of you that it was strictly for pleasure and nothing more, but how could she help herself from catching feelings for you? She had come to the conclusion that it was simply not realistic so she decided to stuff them way down inside and enjoy the time you had with each other, even if it was only sexual.
“U-Uhm so are we still on for tonight,” Robin got right to the point, knowing small talk was only gonna make things worse for her growing feelings.
“Of course. I thought maybe you could come over around 5 if that works for you.” You suggested hoping Robin would agree to the earlier time than she was used to coming over.
She wondered why you had wanted her to come over at 5 instead of 8, but she quickly decided that she wasn't gonna bother asking, “Uh yeah that's okay. I'll have to find a ride though. Steve always works for me on Fridays.” Robin's mind was turning thinking about who could drive her, “Unless maybe I could just ride w-with you.”
Your stomach felt queasy for a few short seconds at Robin's suggestion. You and Robin had never really been public with anything, not even a friendship. You wouldn't mind at all really giving her a ride, but your long period of silence, while you had been lost in thought, was enough for Robin to get the wrong message.
“Oh wait you know what? I forgot I totally have a bike. I-I’ll uh see you at 5.” She uttered quickly and basically ran back in the direction of the school holding back tears knowing the girl she loved clearly didn't even want to be seen with her.
5 had come rather quickly as you were currently pacing around your living room, excited that Robin would show up any minute, and when there was a knock on the door you practically ran to it. You quickly opened the door, happy to see Robin in front of you, though the usual goofy grin she had was nowhere to be seen tonight.
“I've been waiting all week for this,” You sighed while finally leaning in to kiss Robin.
The familiar sensation of Robin's lips was now on yours, as you moved your lips in a slow rhythm taking the time to just enjoy the moment.
Though the slow movement must have not been enough for Robin as she quickly removed your shirt and in one swift motion you both made your way to the couch.
You had pushed Robin to lay back, you now sitting in her lap, lips now desperately moving with each other. A tingling had settled in your core, knowing what was to come throughout the course of the afternoon.
Robin's lips had carefully moved to your neck leaving soft kisses, effectively leaving you needing more.
“Stop teasing.” You let out a breathy moan as she decided to nibble harder on the sweet spot right below your ear.
Your hands began to drift under her shirt, lightly massaging her breasts while she slowly moved her kissing to your collarbone.
You were so wrapped up in the feelings of your bodies so close together that you almost didn't notice Robin almost completely stopping her movements.
“Why'd you stop?” Your heart was still pounding from what had just gone down.
“I-I can't do this anymore. This has to stop.” Her voice was quieter than you had ever heard it.
With those words, you felt your heart drop. You raked your brain as to what you could have done wrong. “W-What? I- what did I do wrong.” The slight tremble of your voice was enough to send a small crack through Robin's chest.
Your heart was now racing for a different reason. You weren't sure what your life was supposed to look like without Robin in it.
Robin suddenly looked up to you, “I-Its me. This has nothing to do with you. I-I can’t get over the feelings I have for you. I thought that maybe sex would be enough, that if I could have you in that way then I could push everything else away. Turns out I can't and clearly sex is all you are interested in. I know you didn't wanna give me a ride today because you were embarrassed by me Y/N and I get it…I do, I just can't keep putting myself through this” Robin managed to hold in the rest of her tears.
You were taken aback and confused about where this had all suddenly come from. You wanted to say something so badly, to reassure her that she was very wrong in her assumptions. You tried speaking, but fear took over and you stayed quiet. You were simply afraid of not being good enough for her, not being what Robin truly deserved, and after coming to terms with the fact that you hadn’t even noticed that Robin had been feeling this way, you knew she deserved someone way better than you.
You would come to regret it later but you simply let Robin slip out of your grip and right out the front door, not so much as even uttering a goodbye to her.
You hadn’t been heartbroken before but you were pretty damn sure this is what it felt like.

———————————————————————————
The past day had been nothing short of insane. You, Nancy, and Robin had traveled to visit a very disturbed Victor Creel, which almost caused you guys to get arrested. All while this was happening, Max was fighting for her life against Vecna. Thankfully the trip to see Victor wasn't completely pointless as somehow you guys had figured out music was the key to getting through to the people who were being cursed by vecna. With basically minutes to spare, Max had pulled through leaving everyone on edge which is how you all ended up in the Wheeler's basement.
You were currently taking your turn in the shower as the rest of the kids were spread out in the basement engaged in their own conversions.
Nancy was lost in thought, The three younger kids were all sitting on the couch still reeling from Max's almost death, and then there was Steve and Robin, engrossed in a very important conversation…
“You are so into my sister!” Despite the craziness of the day, Steve and Robin had still managed to drift the conversation back to their very sad love lives, which unfortunately for Robin now involved Steve's younger sister.
“Shhh! Are you crazy! I am not into your sister Steve and for the love of god PLEASE talk a little quieter!” Robin was whisper yelling, eyes wide with concern for who may have heard him, especially since it was possible for you to come back from your shower any minute.
Steve only seemed amused at her little outburst and continued, “Oh come on Robin! You tell me everything! Don’t think I noticed exactly why you volunteered to go see Victor. You jumped on that ship as soon as you knew Y/N was going.” Steve argued, looking at Robin for any indication that he was on the right track.
Was Steve right? Absolutely.
Did Robin want him to know that? Absolutely not.
So she came up with the best thing possible to get him off the topic, “I could say the same thing about you basically throwing yourself all over Nancy trying to be her protector and shit.” She thought it was a clever enough way to fluster him, but oh how she was wrong.
“So what I'm hearing is that you're not denying having a thing for Y/N?” Steve simply smirked knowing that Robin was most certainly about to crack.
“Okay fine! I have a thing for your sister! Are you happy now Steve, because it really doesn't even matter because it's NEVER gonna happen.” Robin was now the one raising her voice, luckily everyone was too caught up in their own things to really notice the conversation that was happening.
Although Steve was glad Robin finally let it out, he also knew that this was a difficult situation for her. He couldn't imagine being in her shoes and having to be scared of how people would react to her true self.
“I think you should go for it. I mean Y/N hasn't been interested in any boy that she has been out with! That's gotta be a sign! It's now or never Robin. You guys deserve love.” Ever since meeting Robin it had almost become clear to him that maybe you weren't into boys. He noticed the uncomfortableness on your face when your parents talked of you getting married to a nice young man and the utter disgust you held when your parents talked of people who liked the same gender, He could also almost swear he could hear you silently crying sometimes after a particularly grueling conversation with your parents about how being gay was a disgrace. Steve wanted nothing more than to comfort you, but he knew that if and when you were ready to talk about it you would come to him.
“Steve, what happens if your sister isn't into girls huh? What if she tells someone that I asked her out and your parents find out. They will make sure I'm chased out of Hawkins with pitchforks..pitchforks Steve!” She ranted, letting out a sign as it came to an end.
Steve was determined to make Robin see what was right in front of her face, “Robin you know Y/N isn't like that. She already knows you don't like guys and she doesn't see you any different. Plus even if she isn't into girls, you know she would never just go and run and tell people that sort of thing.” He was serious at this point because surely if robin liked you as much as it seemed she did then she would know you wouldn't just out her to everyone.
“Of course I know that she wouldn't do that. She is literally perfect.” Robin's head fell into her hands, letting out a small groan of frustration.
“Who's perfect?” You startled both Robin and your brother as you now stood in front of them.
The look on Steve and Robin's faces immediately let you know you definitely heard something that you weren't supposed to, though you couldn't help but be curious.
“U-Uhm, i-its.” Robin fumbled over her words, “Heidi! Heidi is perfect! Robin was just agreeing with me.” Steve attempted to recover the conversation with a nervous smile.
Of course you knew he was lying, but you didn't exactly have the energy to push further, “Oh okay then.” You smiled slightly while sitting down next to robin on the couch letting your muscles relax. You were certain there was nothing better than relaxing after you've had a hot shower.
Though in trying to relax the awkward silence that now enveloped the three of you was making you slightly uncomfortable, “You guys are never this quiet.”
Steve looks to a hopeless Robin then back to you, “I think this Vecna creep has gotten the best of all of us right now.” What he was saying was mostly true, though he was really just using it as an excuse to get away from why it was currently so quiet.
“Tell me about it.” You signed while sitting up a bit, “I can take the first shift making sure max is okay.” You volunteered knowing someone would need to make sure she was okay and considering you three were the only ones still wide awake the choice was obvious.
“I'll stay up too.” Robin said eagerly, earning a look from Steve, “Y-you know to keep you awake.” She reasoned.
You didn't think much of it, but you were pretty fond of the idea of being able to stay up and talk to robin, just you and her.
“Good enough for me! You guys take the couch, there is a pillow and a blanket on the floor over there calling my name.” Steve jumped off the couch and made his way to the spot on the floor that just so happened to be right next to nancy.
You simply rolled your eyes with a knowing glance, “Goodnight Steve.” You shook your head.
You and Robin had mostly stood in silence while you guys gathered blankets and pillows for the couch. A weird feeling in your stomach had set in knowing you were going to be sleeping so close to Robin all night. You weren't exactly sure what the feeling was, but you didn't dislike it.
“W-would you rather me sleep on the floor?” Robin questioned as she silently hoped you would reject the idea of sleeping separately. And like she had hoped your response was quick, “What no! I- uhm- I don't mind you sleeping on the couch with me.” You were now the one nervously fumbling over your words.
Robin simply let out a gentle okay as you both attempted to get comfortable on the couch. You had settled for sitting facing each other for now. Her on one end and you on the other.
It was clear now that everyone had fallen asleep except for the two girls, and knowing this you spoke quietly, “Robin c-can I ask you something kind of personnel.” Your voice was soft.
Robin's heart sped up a bit. She wasn't sure what exactly you were going to ask, but she didn't really mind sharing personal things with you, “Go for it.”
You took a deep breath before drifting your eyes down to your fidgeting hands, not wanting to make eye contact with robin, “H-How did you know you liked girls?”
The question clearly took Robin off guard because when you looked up at her, her eyes looked wild and a warm heat had spread to the apple of her cheeks. You were about to tell her never mind and to forget you ever asked, but Robin spoke first, “I guess I just kind of knew. I mean you heard the Tammy Thompson story. I just never had any interest in boys. I didn't really know what that meant till I got to high school and figured out that it was even possible for a girl to like another girl. There was always this weird feeling in my stomach when I was around pretty girls and especially Tammy Thompson,” She laughed slightly before continuing, “But the whole Tammy Thomson thing obviously didn't work out.”
You really let the words sink into you. The familiar feeling that robin had described when she was around pretty girls is exactly how you felt right now, and to be honest, any other time you were around her you felt it.
“I think maybe I'm into girls. It just doesn't feel right when I'm with a guy, it feels wrong.” It felt nice to get that off your chest.
Robin was sure her own heart was about to completely stop beating. You actually liked girls, which meant there was now a slightly higher chance that Robin could finally indulge in the love she so desperately desired to have with you.
“It's the best feeling in the world when you actually get to be with someone and it feels right. I-I haven't dated a girl yet, but there is someone that I'm fairly sure I'm in love with, and when I'm with her everything in my body just feels good. MY head always spins and those damn butterflies never wanna go away. The hardest thing I guess is knowing that she is just out of reach.” Robin couldn't help but be emotional. It felt odd talking about you, to you without you even knowing but in a way it felt liberating.
You on the other hand basically felt the air leave your lungs. The way Robin was talking about this mystery girl was exactly what you felt for her and well it was now or never…
“Robin.”
“Yeah?”
“This feels right.” You waited for a reaction to happen on her face, but it wasn't a couple seconds later that robin's hands found the sides of your face and she was pulling you in for a kiss. YOu nervously obliged, connecting her lips to yours, moving them perfectly in sync.
This felt so fucking right.
You both pulled away after a few moments knowing any of the kids could wake up and see the both of you making out on the couch. Not because you were worried about their reaction but now didn't really feel like the most appropriate time to announce to everyone that you and robin had a thing for each other.
“Holy shit,” Robin breathed out, still inches from your face.
“Yeah holy shit,” You giggled, pulling her down completely to your side of the couch.
You didn't share very many more words knowing that you guys would figure out the relationship stuff later, but right now you both just wanted to be with each other.
Robin laid on her back while you laid right beside her, resting your head right below her chin, while your hands found each other and connected. It wasn't long before their shift was up and they were both falling soundly asleep wrapped perfectly into each other's arms.
It had been what felt like the most peaceful sleep for the both of them, not even caring who saw them cuddled up on the couch, however, both of your blissful peace was interrupted in the morning when none other than your brother was snickering above you both with a camera in his hand.
“Say cheese!”

———————————————————————————
The last place you expected to be during the spring break of your senior year was another dimension. You had heard your brother and his friends talk about the upside-down but you had never actually been in it…until now. You weren't exactly sure what was going on in your brain when you jumped in the water, all you knew is that you would follow her anywhere…her being Robin Buckley. You had met during the events of starcourt and had basically been inseparable ever since.
You were aware your feelings towards her were different than how you felt about the rest of your friends, but you were also aware that even though you knew Robin liked girls, she would never like you. Even if in some crazy scenario Robin liked you how you liked her, it could never happen. If your mom found out she would certainly ship you off to some conversion camp and you'd never see the light of day again. That was mostly why you had decided to keep it a secret about who you liked. Even your brother, who you had no doubt would accept you with love and open arms had no idea.
So here you were swinging harshly at some monster bats all to make sure a girl you could never be with was okay.
“Y/N watch out!” You weren’t exactly sure whose voice it was because before you could turn in their direction a demobat dragged its claws all the way up your abdomen as you fell to the ground.
“Shit.” You immediately groaned, hurrying back to your feet as you all got the last bat off Steve so he could get up as well. It was clear he had deep injuries of his own, and the concern on Nancy's face screamed louder than the screeching of the bats right above your heads.
You and Robin gave each other a knowing glance. One that clearly states you both recognized the love that was still very much present with Steve in Nancy. Though the semi-happy look Robin had on her face quickly melted into panic as she saw the crimson color peaking through your now half-torn t-shirts.
She had immediately run up to you, but before any words of concern could be uttered, Nancy was now ushering the group towards the tree line as the demobats had laid off for a brief moment.
It didn't go unnoticed with you that Robin had tightly gripped your hand in hers, making sure you were able to keep up so you wouldn't fall behind. You were feeling two very different things right now…pain and love, so much love.
You all were forced to stop when Steve started to get woozy as he fell against Skull rock and it wasn’t long after him that you too began to really feel the effects of the scratch on your abdomen. It wasn’t hard for Robin to pick up on the signs that you needed some help as you attempted to sit.
“Let me help.” Her voice was gentle as she grabbed your hands allowing you to use her as support so you could comfortably sit.
“Thank you.” Your voice was laced with so much admiration and you were sure she could see it in your eyes. Robin somehow always managed to do the right things. It was hard for you to ignore the pounding of your heart as your mind couldn't run away from the thought of her, especially you and her together.
Though in Robin-like fashion her panic set in, “God I really hope those bats didn't give you rabies. I-I really don't think the upside-down has doctors o-or rabies shots for that matter a-and – oh god, look at your stomach! Are you okay? Wait no that's a stupid question, of course you aren't okay!” Her eyes were wild and her voice had raised a couple octaves as she got further into her ramble.
Honestly, it was cute how she rambled so much, but the anxiety-ridden feature of her face sent a weird feeling to your stomach, “Robin, I’m okay. It's just a scratch. Honestly.” You tried your absolute best to reassure her, and maybe yourself a little too.
Clearly, Robin didn't believe a word you just said as she ran up to Nancy to get some extra fabric, “Nancy! I-I need some of that please, Y/N is basically bleeding out!” her voice was loud which caused everyone to then look at you with concern.
“I’m not bleeding out Robin.” You sighed almost wanting to let out a small chuckle.
Heat flooded Robin's cheeks as she walked slowly back over to you, not realizing the scene she made until she had already made it. Instead of digging herself further in the whole, she decided to quietly wrap your waist.
You noticed Robin's quiet demeanor almost immediately, but it was hard to say much as you were very much focused on the sensation of her soft fingers against the skin of your torso. She gently wrapped the fabric much like Nancy had done for Steve.
Yet you were still oblivious to the love in Robin's eyes directed right at you.
“All done.” She spoke quietly before scooting back and slipping off her jacket, “You should put this on, your shirt got pretty mangled.” You didn't argue with her as she helped you slip into the jacket, her scent immediately consuming you.
You weren't sure what had come over you but you pulled Robin into a deep hug. You couldn't contain the overwhelming feeling in your heart right now, and you weren't sure how much longer you could keep it inside.
Robin immediately melted into the hug, letting a long sigh leave her body almost in relief. Much like you were currently feeling, Robin was also overwhelmed with emotion and whether it was the life or death situation they currently were in or how long she had kept her feelings in, she couldn't stay silent…not any longer.
“I love you Y/N. I really really do and I might regret this later, but I can't just keep ignoring it. I've sat and I've waited and tried to find the best opportunity to tell you about how I've been feeling, but I'm tired of waiting and I just love you and I hate seeing you hurt a-and we have to make it out of this okay? I cannot survive without you.” You guys were still locked in a hug, foreheads now rested against each other.
Suddenly all the pain seemed to have left your body. This is what you had been dreaming of for months, hell maybe even since you guys had met. For once you didn't start to worry what everyone else's opinion would be about you and robin, you simply just thought about robin and how caring she was and how worth it this would be if they could be together, consequences be damned.
“I love you too. I-I've loved you for a while now. I was so scared to tell you or anyone for that matter, but I'm not anymore. I don't care what anyone thinks of me except for you because god dammit I am so hopelessly in love with you Robin Buckley.” A single tear fell down your cheek as the biggest weight you had ever felt was suddenly lifted off your shoulders.
Robin didn't waste even a second connecting her lips to yours. They were slightly cracked, but something had never felt so perfect. You had no doubt in your mind that this is who you belonged with as your lips moved in sync with hers.
“HA, I KNEW IT. YES!” The kiss was short-lived as both you and Robin pulled away in laughter at Steve's outburst. There wasn't a single person around you who wasn't smiling and it felt great.
“Dammit, I owe Dustin $20 bucks.” Steve shook his head, meanwhile sending you into shock.
“W-What?” You were very confused.
“Dustin called this like weeks ago. He said you guys would definitely get together by the end of the month and I said it would at least be a couple months down the road. The little shit was right.” Steve explained, still irritated that Dustin had bested him.
You and Robin both looked at each other with small laughs leaving both of you.
“Was it really that obvious?” She giggled while furrowing her eyebrows.
“Apparently to everyone except us.”
