I agree that series-Hiccup is obviously more in depth though I disagree that he wouldn’t have peace talks. Up to that point he was able to convince literally every major villain (except Johann) that Dragons aren’t bad and shouldn’t be harmed.
He convinced ALVIN, Dagur and Viggo! I get why he would think he could change Draho’s mind. It worked up until him, through which he learned that not everyone can be reasoned with so he didn’t try in HTTYD3.
Rewatching RTTE and I stand by RTTE!Hiccup being different than Movie!Hiccup. If RTTE!Hiccup was in 2 and 3, Drago and what’s-his-name would’ve had no peace talks. Hiccup woulda been like ‘I am NOT doing this again’ and unalive em.

I usually never post things but I think a lot of people in the HTTYD fandom aren‘t really getting what Grimmel was representing. It makes sense as we did have a great and depthful villain with Viggo and an „obvious big bad“ with Drago.
I liked Grimmel for what he was. He wasn’t supposed to have depth or reason. He was just a killer out for fame. Recognition. HTTYD 3 was supposed to showcase how humans also just hunt for the sake of it. Dragons could never be safe if there are humans around that just simply don’t care. They don’t have a conscience. Viggo had depth, he had reasons and was clever. That also gave him potential for understanding. Grimmel wasn‘t SUPPOSED to have that. He was supposed to be one dimensional. Otherwise Hiccup‘s point at the end of the movie and why the dragons had to leave would be moot.
A lot of people criticize HTTYD3 for having a bland villain when actually the villain fits exactly into the story and the message. Mindless people will hurt for the sake of it and don’t care. And you can’t reason with them.
The world wasn’t ready for Dragons and it still isn’t.
i could rant forever on how much i hate him and how much i dislike him as a villain and that viggo was, and always will be, the greatest HTTYD villain of all time.

I really must say though that the show‘s writing of Rapunzel is amazing.
She grew up so much over the whole thing but she was also Rapunzel. And it happened so gradually that when you go back to the beginning, you are SO surprised how different she was. Amazingly done.

So I just watched the whole movie+ series again in like three days.
And I came to the same conclusion that I did after first watching the finale.
Cass should have been punished in any kind of way. Like. Any. I get why they couldn’t do that but like... watching the journey and especially seeing how they handled Varian (rightfully so), I just think letting Cass go is so... meh.
Also the sentence „you‘re worth fighting for“ is such a slap in the face for Varian, lol. All this time Raps never gave up on Cass, not even for a second, but with Varian she was like „yeah whoops I think he may be too far gone“ after not even having witnessed anything yet😂
Varian really had to prove himself to the people again- though to be fair Raps also forgave him pretty fast but only after she realised that he was truly sorry snd having had to live with his regrets for a year. But my point is that Cass‘ actions were SO much worse for a MUCH lesser understandable reason.
Varian was a 14 year old who could not accept his own errors and felt abandoned and just wanted his father. He was abandoned by literally everyone and accused of something he did not do and thrown out into a snowstorm. And afterwards Rapunzel did not even come to him. So after having threatened the royal family, he was sentenced to prison for whatever long- we don’t know as he broke out. He was also aware of the role he has played and which role he has to play to redeem himself.
Cassandra, a 22/23(?) old woman, literally switched her reasoning three times between her wanting to not be in the shadows waiting to her wanting her destiny to her being jealous of an innocent girl. The only thing she has going for her is that she was being manipulated. But at the same time, literally everyone wanted to fight for her anf ahe refused to listen. And even the end bothers me a bit. She only really truly realizes what she has done after not having her powers anymore. Only then. Wow. And I get that she had doubts before but literally a few minutes before she was bent on being the one in power over Rapunzel. Not to mention she literally chose to look away when 99% of the people said „yo you done bad“.
Idk, while I like her being friends with Raps and Eugene again (so so much. That hug hit me right in the feels as I had „just“ watched the movie) I felt it was undeserving YET. Like, there had to be more than her dying while helping Raps when literally everyone of the guys that fought Zhan Tiri also died/about to die while helping Raps.
Like I said, I get why and I do love the scenes and the ending overall but that is just something that upsets me a little bit.
But damn Raps cutting her own hair becomes so much more significant after watching everything from the movie until the end.

The ONLY thing I did not like about the finale was how they handled Cass‘s „redemption“.
I think she got of way too lightly. Especially compared to what they did to Varian, whose crimes were actually smaller. They handled Varian‘s redemption well enough for us not having seen his thought process but Cass‘ redemption just feels too fast.
I loved the scrnes and everything but I just wish she would have apologized to like everyone and actually get some kind of punishment or at least a talking to. But she was forgiven just like that. I get why and I do love the scene(s) and I love the end and the episode was AMAZING but Idk, I just wish it had happened more gradually than it did or at least had shown consequences like with Varian.
But that is really such a minor thing compared to everything. It was spectacular. Great rap up for the series! (Especially that boat scene- so cute!!)

Is Varian the son of Zhan Tiri?!
There’s some theory going on in the fandom. Thus since nobody has debunked this theory, I will do it and connect the dots and give all the clues I could find. English is not my native language, I apologize for mistakes.
Tumblr media
I while ago we discovered that Zhan Tiri was not a man like we first thought she was, but a woman. Zhan Tiri will be voiced by a woman named Tara Fitzgerald.
Tumblr media
Some people speculated that this ghostly blue girl who guids Cassandra into controlling the moon stone is Zhan Tiri. Guys, no this ghost is not Zhan Tiri. She is not voiced by Tara, but by somebody else. Zhan Tiri is still trapped in a different demension, remember?
Tumblr media
If Lord Demanitus could live for years in a body of a monkey, why couldn’t Zhan Tiri live in a body of a woman?
We know that Zhan Tiri is imprisoned in an another demension by Lord Demanitus. Perhaps this is why Varian’s mother was never into Varian’s life and that might be the case why she mysteriously dissapeared.
Tumblr media
It was confirmed during a interview by one of the show creators that we’ll find out the name of Varian’s mother in a future episode. This could also hint that she might appear. The castlist confirmed that Zhan Tiri will make an actual debute in season 3 and will have a voice.
Tumblr media
According to Quirin, he wrote in the note that he was proud of Varian. The show director Chris Sonnenburg said a long time ago that the note was important. And to be honest, writing in a note that you’re proud of someone isn’t very important in my opinion. Also the note was way too long for saying how proud you are of someone. I have a feeling Quirin was lying to Varian. I believe that what was written in the note was about Varian being the son of Zhan Tiri.
Tumblr media
Both Zhan Tiri and Varian have a lot in common:
Zhan Tiri is described as a powerful warlock/sorcerer in legends. Varian was originally thought to be a wizard/sorcerer before his official introduction
Tumblr media
Zhan Tiri is considered a dangerous and evil being. Varian is considered a dangerous person by multiple other characters
Tumblr media
Zhan Tiri has some sort of vendetta against Corona and attacked/tried to destroy the kingdom in the past. Varian had a vendetta against Rapunzel/Corona and attacked the kingdom in Season 1
Tumblr media
Zhan Tiri was Defeated and imprisoned by Demanitus after his attack against Corona. Varian was arrested and imprisoned after his attack against Corona
Tumblr media
So this are the possibilities what I think could have happenend:
Zhan Tiri was evil at first, but might redeem herself when she fell in love with Quirin and later had a son with him. She wants to combine both the moonstone and golden flower to achieve the ultimate power to use it for evil purposes. But She gave up on that idea, because she wanted to have a normal life with her new family. She was a caring and loving mother and wife. Zhan Tiri gets confronted by Lord Demanitus and gets imprisoned in an another demension because of her actions against Corona.
Zhan Tiri was evil and might had manipulated Quirin into loving her because of his knowledge of the moonstone and the golden flower and its location. She wants to combine both the moonstone and golden flower to achieve the ultimate power to use it for evil purposes. She later gets imprisoned by Lord Demanitus because of her crimes against Corona, leaving Varian and Quirin all alone.
Zhan Tiri was never evil, but had always have been a good person and still is. She was just misunderstood by everyone who judged her as an evil and dangerous being. People are afraid of her. Zhan Tiri wanted to have the moonstone and golden flower so she can combine it to achieve the ultimate power. She will use it and wish to be loved and understood again and so that people wouldn’t be afraid of her anymore. Just like in the series Miraculous Ladybug, Hawk Moth wanted to have the ladybug and the black cat miraculous so he can combine it to wish his wife back to life. Later she fell in love with Quirin, he was the only person who didn’t judge her of who she is and gets a child with him. She was a loving and caring mother and wife. She later gets imprisoned in an another demension by Lord Demanitus because of her actions against Corona.
So, this is the end of the theory. What do you think?

These new images!
We all know now that the new images of Hiccup and Toothless and Hiccup and Astrid are probably in the same scene.
What if that is that ending scene?
Let me explain. Hiccup may have his apron on because he just finished making Toothless’ tail so he can fly alone- It would also explain his missing saddle. Astrid is there to comfort Hiccup while getting emotional herself- her eyes look a bit glassy.
But it could also be a beginnin scene. Only, I don’t really get the connection yet.

WARNING: ANIMAL CRUELTY
Apparently people have been adopting dogs and either killing them themselves or dropping them to a kill shelter (and one even said they were flying them to poor Asian areas to be eaten) under the Twitter hashtag #pitbulldropoff
This is completely cruel and evil and word needs to get around about these demons so everyone knows what these demons are planning to do to dogs once they get ahold of them.
If you know someone or if you yourself is planning to give away a pitty by craigslist soon, DONT and wait for awhile!!!! They act like they’re going to adopt them and act all nice then they get rid of them, don’t be fooled!!
DM me for uncensored names!!!!!!!!

A possible HTTYD3 ending
I thought a bit about the “There were dragons when I was a boy” line for the movies.
We know that Hiccup will have at least one scene where he is older. We also suspect that these words are used. Dean DeBlois said as an answer to a fan mourning, that it may not be a sad ending.
Now. What if Toothless and the other dragons have to leave for some reason but then at the very end of the movie we get a time jump into the distant future where the gang is all grown up and the dragons, or at least Toothless, come back? With all the information we have, this could be a real possiblity. It would be sad but not a sad ending. It would be heartwarming and at the same time tragic.
My dream would be like this: We see grown up Hiccup (with a beard, as promised by animators) sleeping and waking up from something on his roof and investiges, on his way we see his kids or whatever (kinda a wish of mine), and then he sees Toothless again. That would be so sweet.♥
Now I am not saying it will be like that but given the information that we have I see this idea as a true possibility. If it truly is so, then I will be very sad and happy.
