I didn't want to attach too much to that last reblog but I think about practice building a lot. Like, my mind is simmering another witchcraft zine that is about practice building. It's a lot of questions for you to ask yourself about what you want to get out of building a witchcraft practice.

I like to tell people that they probably already have an altar, a collection of things that reflects them all arranged in one place. A grouping of photos and trinket boxes, maybe movie tickets and small gifts from friends. You are already creating a world view.

Too often I think people are looking for something exterior for their witchcraft, something for them to mimic or reflect. The thing is, you already have a structure to work with, and that's a good place to start. You already have a cosmology and some ethics. You also have the existing world you are living in that keeps teaching you lessons and giving you a frame of reference. You just need your curiosity and some time to help fill in the rest.

Astral Travel

This is the method I use for astral travelling, which was taught to me by a friend. Please keep in mind that this is only one of many methods, so if it doesn’t work for you, there are other methods to try! And, also keep in mind that it takes practice. I first tried astral travel as a fifteen-year-old, and after months worth of attempts I got frustrated and gave up and didn’t try again for like 10 years. But when I did try again, and had more patience, I found that I could finally do it! So be patient with yourself, try different techniques, and take breaks if need be.

To astral travel:

Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing and find a quiet and peaceful place to lay down. Begin by regulating your breathing. A good rule of thumb is to count to 5 on the inhale and again to exhale until it feels natural. Next, relax each muscle in your body one by one, starting at your feet and working your way up to the top of your head and then back down. Continue to breathe evenly. Let yourself begin to fall asleep, but wake yourself up when you’re still in the state between waking and sleeping. Do this 4 or 5 times. Repeat the process as needed.

You should begin to feel your energy body vibrating, usually experienced as a tingling sensation on the physical body or parts of it. At this point, you’re ready to step out of your body. You can project yourself into the room or travel within this realm by envisioning the place you wish to go. Make sure to have a place in mind, or you’ll end up somewhere random and possibly dangerous. You can picture a place you’ve been, a place you’ve seen, or an archetypal location, such as a meadow, log cabin, or mountain side. Alternatively, you can travel to another realm within this plane.

Whenever you travel, you need to have a tether to get back. You can envision a literal tether, cord, rope, or thread. Or use an anchoring object, such as a crystal. It is also highly recommended to keep some sort of protection on your physical body, and a good idea to have some for your energy body as well. This can be a staff or wand, athame, a sachet of herbs, a crystal, or other protective object. Guides, deities, and servitors can help to protect you as well, physically and energetically. To bring you protection with you into the astral, make sure it is in contact with your physical body. Envision it in your hand (or wherever you keep it); see it, feel it, know its presence.

You can also travel to another plane, but you’ll need to be already familiar with it or have a guide, otherwise you risk getting lost and encountering dangerous beings and situations if you just wonder about.

To travel to a past life, you’ll need to first travel to the Records Hall (in the Akashic records). Start outside in the forest surrounding it, walk up the stairs, and through the heavy, wooden front doors. A record-keeper will meet you inside, a being which may or may not be humanoid. Ask them for your book; remember to say please and thank you. Once the book is in front of you, you may ask for a specific past life, or simply flip to a random page. Once your page is chosen, they will leave. (You will not usually be permitted to see anyone else’s book; it’s best not to ask. NEVER attempt to steal anything here.)

Next, step into the past life memory through any door except the front door (because this will bring you back instead). Remember the path you take for an easier way back out. Once there, you will see the memory play out like a movie. You can watch as a third party, or you can go into your past self and experience it firsthand. You cannot change anything here though, as it’s only a memory. Know that not all memories are pleasant. After the memory has finished, follow the path back to the door into the Records Hall and enter. Go through the building and back out the front door to return home. If you don’t remember your path or can’t find it, use your tether or anchor to call yourself back.

If you do get lost and don’t have a tether or way back, you may end up falling ill, feeling drained, or bring back an astral attachment. The same if you go without protection. Be sure to shield yourself when traveling, and if you do bring something back, cleanse yourself and banish it. Astral travel takes a good deal of energy, even for those well-versed in it. It is advised to have a light snack prepared (preferably with a bit of carbs) and water available.

Hey guys! So after a bit of a health break and working part-time at just one of my jobs its time for me to open readings again. I still have very limited hours of about 20 a week and until tourism picks back up again (which can take months even after Covid ends) for my second job to start up again - budget is still tight!

I know a lot of others are suffering severely as well - but if anyone has any spare income and wants a reading please feel free to IM me or send me an ask or (preferably) send me a submission form.

The Readings I Offer

Tarot Readings

A simple thing that many offer but with my readings you will receive images of the spreads and cards taken and any other addition items added (crystals drawing, colormancy, etc)

Past Life Readings

My bread and butter! Every interested in delving down into the lives you may have experienced in the past? Are you wanting to do some soul searching or get back to some of your old energy of those times? Well these readings are wonderful for self discovery, self reflection and to improve yourself over flaws of history.

Standard Reading (5 Cards) - $5.00

The standard past life reading is where I do a 5 card spread based off of the custom spread I created personally for past life readings. These readings will consist of: early life, teenage life, young adult life, adult life, and late life. Additional notes may be added to the reading by me.

Full Reading (10 Cards) - $8.50

The standard past life reading is where I do a 10 card spread based off of the custom spread I created personally for past life readings. These readings will consist of: early life, teenage life, young adult life, adult life, late life, how you were seen by others, your inner self/personality, your purpose in this life, if you met any of your soulmates, and how this life effects your current one. Additional notes may be added to the reading by me.

Full Reading + 3 Cards - $11.00

This reading is like the full reading, but with the addition of 3 more cards added to the end of the spread. These cards can be picked from a list of specifics that you wish to know more about this past life for more specific info. You may choose which of the three areas of the 10 you wish to add a card (or cards) to for more detail. 

Full Reading + 5 Cards - $12.50

This reading is identical to the full reading with the addition of another 5 card spread afterwards. This additional 5 card spread will help us determine in more detail your past life in specific aspects: the time period, the location, your lifestyle (job, family, social class), your biggest fears and your goals/dreams of this life.

Small Reading - $3.00

This is my affordable cheaper option for those with a tighter budget. It is a smaller version of my standard reading featuring the first 5 cards of the standard reading: early life, teenage life, young adult life, adult life and late life. 

Colormancy

My readings using custom colormancy cards made from my color theory test kit. With these colors much like other forms of card readings, I will use them and their alignments to draw answers for your questions or inquiries.

One Card - $1.00

Two Cards - $1.50

Three Cards - $2.50

Five Cards - $4.00

Crystal Throwing

A crystal throwing reading is using a bunch of different crystals and a large grid and tossing randomly selected crystals onto the grid and interpreting that for divination purposes. You may also do single drawn stones from a bag or box for single simple answers.

How the reading will work:

I will receive your question(s) and then using them as a guide will throw the crystals I draw onto my grid. I will interpret the patter, placement and the crystals correspondences to give you a detailed reading. I will also take a picture of the grid and the crystals upon it.

Pricing:

The price for a standard crystal reading will be $7.00 and for every additional throwing or question you would like to add is another $3.00.

I also have an option for if you want a Large Throwing consisting of answering 5 questions and taking the use of many more crystals than a standard throwing it is $11.50.

I also offer single stone drawings for $1.00 a stone.

Energy Readings

My energy readings are not the same as aura readings, I will read your energy via what visions I get, imagery, sounds, smells, tastes and feelings. I type out my readings while I experience them (likely with my eyes closed) and will go back through to correct spelling errors before sending. Sometimes these readings delve into divination other times they don’t. I will then take what I see, feel and witness and interpret it more deeply for you and send that.

The price is 6.50 for a basic energy reading. A full detailed or extended one with additional tarot cards, crystals or other added insights can be requested and price discussed.

The part that we see is the fruiting body of the fungi, while the vast majority of the mushroom is kind of like a root system..kind of… it’s the mycelium that absorbs nutrients from whatever substrate the mushroom is living on. 🍄I love to use mushrooms in any magic that involves the life/death cycle since they help break down decaying matter and make new life from it. You can also use them in magic that has to do with the ‘unseen’ (like a ‘show me what I’m missing sort of spell) since the mushroom body, what we see, is only a very small portion of the organism. 🍄They could also be used in cursing to help ‘break down’ something or someone that’s already a little broken, while bringing that thing’s/person’s ‘nutrients’ (energy) to you. 🍄Know thy Fungi. Some fungi thrive on living wood, while some need decaying matter. Some work solely with one type of wood (chaga and birch for example) and doing magic that uses both of those would be extra great. So pay attention to the needs of that fungi and you can use those traits in your spell. i.e. Abundance magic with a fungi that needs a living host would be wonderful.🍄Some cautions…Don’t handle any mushrooms unless you can positively ID them. While most aren’t dangerous to just touch, you dont really want to risk getting spores on your hands and then touching your mucous membranes (eyes, nose, mouth.) Farm raised mushrooms are just as great for magic, though I totally understand the inherent energy of foraged mushrooms. Morels, chicken of the woods, and hen of the woods are some easy-ish to identify mushrooms for beginners. I’m assuming you mean the Law of Attraction? Well, I can tell you that it’s largely nonsense. It doesn’t actually have much to do with witchcraft, apart from New Thought getting rolled into the New Age movement thanks to that book The Secret and thus coming into contact with pagan circles.

Positive or negative thinking doesn’t actually actively attract matching experiences into your life. What it does is influence your outlook on what DOES come into your life.

I’m sorry if that comes across an unnecessarily blunt, or if the answer is disappointing to you, but I believe in calling a pseudoscientific spade a spade.

I think what you’ll want to look into in this instance is magical intent and the force of will. That is, the focused purpose behind a spell and the personal energy and conviction of the caster that empowers it.
