I need to finish the book before my ESL teacher finds me oh god
I can't explain the Curtis brothers. You simply read the Outsiders in middle school and become obsessed with their love and devotion to each other.

Sons of Fëanor propaganda:
The brothers who murder together... die separately, doomed to everlasting darkness. Anyway these morons are 60% of my brainrot.

Revival round, side B
Propaganda under the cut
Butler siblings propaganda:
Here!
Underworld children propaganda:
i like them :]
Children of death. Both displaced from time. Weren't raised together (different mothers, absent father) but love each other all the same.
Hades children I love them!!!!
they are everything to me
They are the best. Protective older sister and younger brother. They live each other still even if one is dead. But like, they are the best duo and they are so cute when they are together. I love their relationship
The tragedy of it all! The fact that Bianca and Nico's relationship was so fractured when Bianca died! The fact that Nico was completely shattered by her death! The fact that Nico brought Hazel back from the dead cause she's his sister and she deserved a second chance! The fact that Bianca and Hazel never even met! The inherent drama of all the underworld children!
Tamar and Tolya propaganda:
They're heartrenders. They're warriors. They're privateers. They're twins.
Leafpool and Squirrelflight propaganda:
They have a telepathic bond (that is later forgotten about). Squirrelflight took in Leafpool's illegal children and raised them as her own. After that was discovered, they were shunned by the rest of the clan (& their children) and only had eachother. They've been through so much, but through all of that they've been there for the other. This is a series that often forgets/ignores relationships like this, especially when they stop being pov characters. Not them though.Eventually they're both close to death and put on trial by StarClan (their afterlife/religious figures) for having the illegal children and lying about them, despite the fact that StarClan themselves told them to do this!! During this they still love eachother so much.Honestly they're probably the strongest sibling relationship in this series
God, where do I start with these two. They go through so damn much together. For starters they have a magical link between the two of them that allows them to know what the other is feeling and sometimes what they’re doing when they sleep. (This link never gets brought back up again after the arc where they’re introduced as far as I’m aware). When Leafpool has forbidden kits according to their religion Squirrelflight takes them in as her own and even lies to her mate about it. And then, because it keeps going, when the kids grow up and find out their aunt is actually their mom and one of the kids announces it to everyone Squirrelflight and Leafpool STILL take each other’s sides and power through it together. These two get put through a ludicrous amount of drama and it’s so apparent how much they love and care for each other.
Raised each other's children, kept each other's secrets, didn't successfully stop each other from hooking up with bad guys.
Percy and Tyson propaganda:
They love each other so dang much they were the first pair who came to mind when I saw this poll. Even though Percy was kind of off-put at first when he found out Tyson was his brother they grew so close by the end of the second book. And the things Tyson made for Percy saved his ass so many fricken times.
I know they're only half brothers but they're soooo special to me. The fact that Percy's willing to throw hands with anyone insulting Tyson and Tyson makes things for Percy is so cool. I also love Percy's arc in the Sea of Monsters because he goes from kind of resenting Tyson for being his half brother (because now everyone's making fun of Percy for having a cyclops for a brother) but then learns throughout the book how much he loves Tyson and learns to be proud of having Tyson as a brother... they're just so special to me they're the best okay?

Round 1, side B
Propaganda under the cut
Tridentarii propaganda:
Codependent. Fucked up. I can't describe their dynamic well enough but trust me, it sure is something. I'm pretty sure Coronabeth is upset that Ianthe didn't eat her.
There’s something deeply wrong with them. They are the worst. They look the same but also they look nothing alike. They are identical twins but in a way where you can tell they had the same base structure to build themselves off of and then they went completely different routes. They’re horrible. I’m in love with them both.

I think part of what I find compelling about the power struggle(s) at the heart of Artemis (II) and Angeline's relationship later in the series is that both parties see the other as being gravely, perhaps irreparably, wounded by the events prior to B1. Artemis cannot shake the memory of Angeline all but rotting in her bed from grief and likewise, Angeline cannot help but remember Artemis being unable to come to her room because he couldn't bear to see that he was slowly but surely losing his other parent, too

On your left, Butler and Artemis Fowl, from Artemis Fowl
But who are they?
artemis and butler are established very early on as having a very close relationship despite following the master/servant rules. the first book explicitly states that butler is the closest thing artemis has to a father (despite his father... being alive) and they kind of take turns saving eachothers lives despite the fact that only butler has any real obligation too artemis still moves heaven and earth to keep him alive, and butler tells artemis his first name despite the tradition between the two families being that they never know the butlers first name, butler tells artemis his bc butler thinks he going to die anyway (he doesnt) anyway this is So Long im sorry i just feel so strongly abt them.
On your right, Merlin and Arthur, from BBC Merlin
But who are they?
At the start of the show, Merlin saves Arthur’s life. He does that again and again for the rest of the show but this is basically the only time he is recognized for it. What does he get in reward? A job! As Prince Arthur’s manservant. Despite Merlin’s status as an underling, Arthur constantly puts his heart first and prioritizes Merlin above his other princely/kingly responsibilities. Merlin on the other hand, knows his destiny is tied to Arthur’s and does everything to save his life and preserve their shared future and the future of their kingdom. At the end of the series, Merlin reveals his magic - his deepest secret that he protected out of fear of betrayal - to Arthur as he dies. They are enemies to master/servant to besties who are also pretty much lovers. They are canonically referred to as “two sides of the same coin.”
They're the worst and I love them. Arthur starts out as the worst kind of conceited asshole, Merlin saves his life before fully considering the consequences which leads to him being made Arthur's servant, and they both absolutely hate each other. I wouldn't call it enemies to lovers because they're never really enemies and they're never really lovers but it's close enough that enjoyers of the trope would probably like the show anyways

Round 2: Butler (Artemis Fowl) vs Murderbot (The Murderbot Diaries)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Propaganda Under Cut]
Butler:
He Raised That Boy! Butler (it's against rules for his employer to know his first name so he only told it to Artemis when he was literally dying (that whole book was about Artemis saving his life)) was first employed by Artemis's father (Artemis senior), as is customary for their families. Artemis Fowl lore includes the tidbit that the Butler family has been helping and guarding the Fowl family for so long (like centuries) that they're the origin of the word. Anyway, Fowl senior disappears when our Artemis is a child, so the child genius decides to continue the family legacy of international crime, which means that Butler has to protect him from everything and everyone. He manages it though. He's a one-man army. He's feared by elite forces. Anyone who tries to get to Artemis has to go through Butler but he's not letting anyone do that. He literally protects this boy with his life, and he cares for him like family, because who cares about employers when said employer is a child trying to find his father and you've been with them for all their life?
Murderbot: It was literally designed for this. Its sole purpose for existence is to be a SecUnit and to protect its clients (and also to data mine them because it lives in a capitalist hellscape but anyway). And it doesn't actually have a choice in that because its controlled by its governor module and isn't actually viewed as a person, except it hacked its system so it DOES have a choice and it still decides that what it wants to do is protect its humans, just while also being treated as a person. And it is so fiercely protective of everyone it feels responsible for, even if it is also very annoyed by its stupid squishy humans who wont stop putting themselves at risk.

On your right, Jeeves and Wooster, from Jeeves and Wooster
But who are they?
They're THE quintessential master and servant duo. Plus they're played by Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, so what more could you ask for?
Bertram Wilberforce Wooster is, to put it plainly, an upper-class twit. He lives a life of idle leisure and has enough money that he really doesn't need to worry about, like, work? But he is kind of an idiot, and his friends are idiots of such a caliber that Bertie actually seems quite clever indeed (he's not, but it's relative), and as such they do often get themselves into trouble. That's where Bertie's valet Jeeves comes in. Jeeves is THE servant of all time. He is the archetypal hypercompetent sidekick, whose low rank and station conceal a man who is shockingly intelligent and well-connected, able to come up with the most brilliant schemes to extract Bertie from the consequences of his not-so-brilliant schemes. Grateful at being saved from the altar or prison (or both) once again, Bertie will give permission for Jeeves to book the cruise he's been angling for, or destroy the hat of Bertie's he dislikes; inevitably, Jeeves has already done so.
So...
