Now that this is over, observations:

Was NOT expecting owls to sweep, but it actually makes a bit of sense since they're in the goldilocks zone of "Out There enough that people would vote for them assuming they'll be an underdog (unlike lagomorphs) but still Normie enough to be popular"

Was expecting lagomorphs to sweep actually. SECOND to last?? for BUNNIES???? I know this is not the Bunny Hater webbed site, my only guess is what I said in the first bullet: people assumed they'd sweep and voted for a suspected underdog

Or people really do hate bunnies :( (doubtful)

I didn't think spiders would beat sharks but I knew they'd lose to bats. The thing that really surprises me is sharks losing to seahorses, I really thought this was the Shark Webbed Site and seahorses would be considered boring!

Actually thinking more on owls; 3/8 of these animals are common phobias and 2 others are frequently deemed "horrible nightmare creatures that you don't want to encounter in the dark so so scary". The remaining three were the top 3 winners of the poll

Also while I'm on this I sometimes really wonder if telling people what their writing weaknesses are is helpful when it comes to teaching creative writing. Cause I know being told that I'm not good at [redacted] by a bunch of my peers did NOT teach me how to do [redacted] or make me any better at it. I still can't do it to this day, all it did was make me insecure about it for the rest of my life

#but also maybe I am in fact too sensitive and this is very helpful for most people. just not me
