What are the top five things you like in your au that are completely different than canon universe?

Whether it be character characteristics or world building or character design

1. I suppose I’ll start with the obvious and say a lot of the character designs like Glimmer, Perfuma, Adora I suppose and…Shadow Weaver (think her design adds more to her character + parallels but I still hate her)

2. I really like, Mara’s story. Maybe It’s the dragon, or maybe it’s the added soul crushing tragedy. There’s not much in canon to compare to anyways, but I feel Mara herself is a lot more morally gray in a way that makes her character and story pretty painful.

3. The fact that everyone’s older when the story starts. That wasn’t really done for nothing either, that 6 year gap is filled with enough trauma on its own that changes a lot of the characters, specifically Adora with his blatant “I’m actually so tired of all of this” attitude.

4. Whatever Adora actually has going on in THS. I don’t want to spoil too much but it’s very fun to write.

5. Lot of sad stuff up here in this list so I guess on a more positive note, the general polyamory in THS. Besides in the main four, I would say I spend quite a bit of time writing even bg characters that are not only monogamous. But I mean that’s only one piece of the puzzle when it comes to what I added to THS in terms of identifiers and relationships.

Honourable mention for the fact I’m positively certain there is no Hordak ‘redemption’ or Entrapdak in THS. Might as well clear that up now.

In the end, I honestly can’t really, remember? I haven’t really made myself a goal for THS being completely canon divergent. Sorry for being vague too, I’m not of the notion of spoiling too much.

Otherwise if you ever come across it, it would be so cool to hear what you like about THS that isn’t in canon.

Glimmer Final Design

Happy Friday!

The blog has been a lil quiet due to Finals season, but to celebrate the end of it, here’s the official and final design for The Heart Stone’s main protagonist.

Getting Glimmer (ey/eir, she/her) exactly how I saw em was really important to me, hence the numerous redesigns of the same character. It’s been fun seeing how overtime ey has changed and really felt more like herself. She means a lot to me.

Here’s a look at me struggling for five hours and to find the perfect design and extra doodles to compensate for all the wordy words.

Looked through your old posts and if you did make a Heart Stone artbook I would buy it in an instant

I saved this ask for a bit because this honestly made my day. In all honesty I have no idea what the future holds, but I’d love, when THS gets a little bit bigger, to compile all the art into one. Just a small dream of mine. For now I’m just so happy to hear you and others are enjoying it.

Blumenlos Early Access

Posted the first page of the next episode, Blumenlos, a week ago on Patreon.

Now more than ever, myself and my new writing partner (who will be introduced properly in time) want the story of THS to run smoothly, so we’re doing a lot to catch up on the work that still needs to be done for THS to update weekly with no hiccups.

That means it might be a while til new comic pages are posted on Webtoon and Tapas. If you’d like to read them as they’re finished, you can find them on my Patreon (with a lot of other cool things.)

Concepts and such will proceed as usual though (as I finish them)

Perfuma probably, I honestly really don’t know why but everything in her design just, works. The braids I get serotonin from drawing. Idk, she just makes me so happy everytime I look at her.

Your Perfuma design is so amazing, aaaaaaaah!!! Is she trans? I know their pronouns are she/fae, but for all I know fae could be a very common pronoun to give your child in etheria

While yes, Neopronouns are actually quite common across Etheria, Perfuma is transfemme🏳️‍⚧️.

It’s also worth noting that gender in Etheria is not exactly fixed at birth. Many inhabitants are quite gender diverse and the landscape is quite supportive and used to it.
