So I guess this is technically a face reveal?
I've got a YouTube channel now! Among other things, it's going to include my ongoing D&D and TTRPG projects. It's not exactly a full return to the House Spouse Hobbies, but it's close. If you want to see more of me, I'm doing weekly videos over there and would greatly appreciate a subscribe! This particular video deals with the project that I first thought I was going to start publishing *checks watch*...

How time flies.
Thank you all so much and I hope to see you over there!

A Fresh Set Of Eyes
Hey everyone <3 I’m gonna be a presence on Tumblr again!
A little over a year ago, I went on an indefinite hiatus from this account in the interest of pursuing better mental health. The response I got was supportive, and ultimately was very helpful for me.
It’s been a very busy year --- I’ve celebrated the one-year anniversary of my marriage, then helped my person graduate college, moved to a new apartment, advanced along the path of coming out, and more --- and while life is still an uphill battle, I’m in a much better place than I was last year. In the last couple weeks, I’ve started itching to come back to Tumblr.
However, I’m likely returning in a new capacity! Much of my desire to homebrew has been rekindled in the last few months by beginning my first ever collaborative homebrew project with a couple of friends --- and oh boy, this is a big undertaking. I don’t think we’ve bitten off more than we can chew, but this project is going to keep me busy for some time.
Watch this space in the near future for updates, teasers, and (hopefully soon) a full playtest release.
In the meantime, feel free to reach out! I have no clue how many of the people I once met and interacted with are still active in this space, but for some reason I’ve even gotten new followers since I left on my hiatus. I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and discovering new faces alike.
Finally, as a personal aside --- The Huntsman was, and to some extent still is, a fun and useful character through which to present my homebrew projects. However, he has grown distant from who I actually am as time has passed.
I’m delighted to be back and ecstatic to share what I’ve been working on.
Love, Mikalynn <3

Second post on the new blog is up! If you want to provide feedback on when/how much/about what I should post, this will be the place to do it, and as a thank you for your time, there is a preview of one of the subclasses from the upcoming Huntsman’s Codex included as well.
Side note: I have purchased the domain of huntsmanshomebrews.com! If you would like to support my ability to make similar business purchases in the future, head on over to my DM’s Guild account (link at the top of my new blog under the “Homebrew Directory” dropdown) and consider making a purchase!
Finally, thank you all so much for the outpouring of support of my decision to move off of Tumblr. I got on to post this link today and discovered three more triggering blogs among my new followers, but the bevy of likes, reblogs, and even positive comments in my notes stream was enough to lift my spirits. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

First off, thank you for taking the time to read the long version of this post!
Following extensive counsel with my wife and my counselor, I’ve determined that Tumblr is no longer an effective platform for me to be using, due to the proximity to triggering content that it places me in. This problem has always existed, but it’s gotten worse in recent years, with the advent of popular mainstream media that is in itself triggering to me and the laughably ineffective Tumblr pornography ban with the ensuing completely nonsensical flagging algorithm.
The short version of this is that, in spite of all of the stresses of life, Tumblr has become one of the most stressful arenas of my life — which is, obviously, a severe deterrent to posting consistent new content/updates on a Tumblr blog.
That said, there are so many positive interactions that I have had on this journey of homebrew and (admittedly loose) community building, and I don’t really want to give that up.
So where do we go from here?
Firstly, I am going to be severely restricting my access to Tumblr going forward, meaning one update a month or less.
Second, I am working on putting together a standalone blog, https://huntsmanshomebrews.wordpress.com/ . As of this posting, it isn’t great, but it’s a work in progress and, hopefully, with a little work, it can turn into something really cool.
This is a really scary step for me. I really want to be able to keep justifying the Huntsman’s Homebrews Project in my life, because it’s something I do genuinely love. I’m scared that moving away from Tumblr will undermine that effort.
If you’ve ever used (and enjoyed) some of my homebrew, I would really appreciate if you might be willing to follow the new blog, rough as it may be.
In time, it will hopefully be a fully functioning homesite for this project, where you will be able to sign up for newsletters, follow links to other relevant sites like DM’s Guild, read blog posts about balance and game design, and so on and so forth.
I am so grateful to all of you for having supported me on this journey to this point, and I would love to have any and all of you join me on the next arc of my adventure.
Michael Leonard, A.K.A. The Huntsman

A little project I’ve been working on. Ultimately this will be part of my setting, but for now, I just need help figuring out how the heck to quantify this monster in game terms.
This is very heavily grounded in Pacific Rim ((It’s my favorite movie)). If you prefer run-of-the-mill fantasy in your D&D, that’s fine, but I would prefer if you’d refrain from adding negativity to my post, if for no other reason than out of respect for my emotional health. That said, constructive criticism is appreciated!

Hi I just wanted you to know that my friends and I always allow your chained ancient homebrew into our games when we start campaigns anymore, and have even used it as a base for NPCs, and it’s caused some awesome fun. One of my characters is currently a celestial chained ancient, though the DM and I reflavored the subclass to be less angelic and more sentient star.
This kind of ask absolutely makes my day. Hopefully you managed to find the most recent version?

Alright as evidenced by the vague semimemey posting the last few days, I am coming back to D&D (or at least trying to). The process of getting married was super draining, but my wife makes every day better.
Would there be any interest in the resumption of homebrewing streams, or would it be better to do something more on the lines of just posting intermittent previews?
