YES! And usually the trope with Sam is like “younger Bucky is charming and obviously smitten with me but I can’t possibly feel about him the way I feel about older Bucky. In fact, even thinking about younger Bucky that way makes me feel like I’m cheating on MY Bucky. No, I don’t plan on ever telling older Bucky any of this” or “[sigh] older Bucky is clearly freaking out because he’s in love with me and threatened by his younger self. I’ll give him time to sort that shit out but man I will wait for him. He’s the one.”
And I eat it up every time!
Stories where Sam and Bucky meet one of their alternative versions are not that common, but I love how a very popular trope between them is that older Bucky is always absurdly jealous of his other-(usually younger)-self.
He’s like: “No one understands this guy like I do. He’s literally me. I know he went through a lot of pain and trauma. …And I will make his pitiful existence even more miserable if he doesn’t back off right now” :/ Or: “Oh, you love Sam? :))) Well, you’re not special, by the way. We all do. But I was here first, so get out my way. Find your own Sam! …No, we’re not dating YET. He’s mine though.”
Meanwhile, younger/other Bucky just sits there and flirts with Sam even harder just to be annoying and because he somehow already noticed that the interest is mutual xD

I think I might be in the minority here but I kinda miss when you could avoid casting news. I miss when I was younger and I didn’t have social media so I didn’t know who was cast in a movie until the trailer, sometimes not even then. I miss the surprise.
And it’s not as simple as just staying off social media because a) I don’t want to do that and b) the news spreads anyways so there’s always a way to find out even when you’re not looking for it.
I know sometimes it’s important because Hollywood has tended to try to do some wild shit with casting, like whitewashing, and it’s only the backlash when some wild choice is announced that has caused change. So I definitely understand why it is needed in some cases and that the trade off probably wouldn’t be worth it.
Maybe I just need to go live in a cave, like god intended 🫠
