It started with a practice session with Gum but I ended up getting carried away with several other characters. . . I love this game! 🛼🎧📻

the problem with reading and writing leading to a strong vocabulary is that you tend to know the vibe of words instead of their meanings.
if I used this word in a sentence, would it make sense? absolutely. if you asked me what it meant, could I tell you? absolutely not.

i often think about that split second where orpheus has turned around, the wash of relief, love, joy, love, love, love that he feels when he sees eurydice. there is darkness and doubt all around him, the ache of his feet, the feeling of defeat, and in his desperation borne of love he sees her. and for a split second, love takes over. the last thing eurydice sees is love etched into every corner of her husbands face before she is dragged back into death.

I got tickets to Hadestown as an early birthday! The show means so much to me and seeing it live made it that much more special. The touring cast was amazing and I can’t get over the production. Every detail is so well crafted. I’ve watched some of the slime tutorials but the little things that the actors did while acting/singing are so fun to see. I laughed, I held back tears the whole time, I fell in love with the show more than ever. It was beautiful.

i've come to realize there are only two kinds of tragedies: preventable and inevitable. preventable tragedies are the kind where everything could have maybe worked out if only. if only romeo had gotten the second letter. if only juliet had woken up earlier. if only creon had changed his mind about antigone sooner. if only orpheus hadn't turned around.
inevitable tragedies are the kind where everything was always going to end terribly. of course macbeth gets deposed, he murdered his way to the throne. of course oedipus goes mad, he married his own mother. of course achilles dies in the war, he had to fulfill the prophecy in order to avenge his lover.
both kinds have their merits. the first is more emotionally impactful, letting the audience cling to hope until the very end, when it's snatched away all at once leaving nothing but a void. the second is more thematically resonant, tracking an inherent fatal flaw in its hero to a natural and understandable conclusion, making it abundantly clear why everything has to happen the way it does.

Hadestown is the best take on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, because all over the internet I see people say, "You're not supposed to think of how he could have succeeded! That misses the total point of the story. Everyone was doomed and there was no way anything could have worked out alright. If you're imagining a scenario that didn't end in tragedy, you're just an arrogant fool. Just shut up and be sad about it"
But Hadestown says, "please please please think of how it could have been. Orpheus would have never looked back if he just had hope, please have hope, he would have wanted us to have hope. If you don't walk out of this theater thinking of how it could have been, we have failed you. go have hope, go see the world in the way it could be, so help us"

if I had a nickel for every time I fell in love with the funny possibly definitely bisexual younger twin brother who has a more serious older twin sister who falls in love in the storyline. I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
here is my drawing of Jacob Frye from Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. I picked this game back up recently. I love Jacob and Evie so much and they remind me of Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.
