Top 10 Batman Movie Villains
This is not your typical Batman villains list, I’ve always loved over the top baddies, also a 60s campy approach to Batman is dear to my heart...and once again, this list honours men aswell, they are so iconic it would be a shame not to include them(also, the female villains in Batman are so rare). Here we go:
10. Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones, Batman Forever 1995)
Tumblr media
9. Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart, Dark Knight 2008)
Tumblr media
8. Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy, Batman Begins 2005)
Tumblr media
7. Penguin (Danny DeVito, Batman Returns 1992)
Tumblr media
6. Joker (Jack Nicholson, Batman 1989)
Tumblr media
5. Riddler (Jim Carrey, Batman Forever 1995)
Tumblr media
A really campy and enjoyable 60′s Batman TV show kinda villain in a mediocre Batman movie. Jim Carrey was so much fun in this.
4. Joker (Heath Ledger, Dark Knight 2008)
Tumblr media
Okay, I guess majority will hate me for not putting this Joker version on number one spot but I felt it was a step away from comic book character although Heath Ledger acting was a spot on.
3. Bane (Tom Hardy, Dark Knight Rises 2012)
Tumblr media
Whoa! Tom Hardy’s performance in final part of Nolan trilogy really stole the show. Haven’t seen for a long time a villain who is so commanding and terrifying from the first second being on the silverscreen. He’s chewing the scenery(in a good way) and everything else with that intimidating physique and menacing look. Hardy and Nolan really did a great job with Bane, minding that before DKR he was portrayed as a mindless brute, bodyguard of Poison Ivy, which really was a caricature of comic book character.
2. Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer, Batman Returns 1992)
Tumblr media
What to say? Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman portrayal is legendary and it’s still the best Catwoman version out there. Complex backstory gave her character depth without being just one dimensional comic book villain. She’s much more than that but she’s never boring and always fun to watch.
1. Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman, Batman & Robin 1997)
Tumblr media
The movie that everybody hated and also the movie that gave favourite Batman cinematic villain of mine and top 3 villain in general. Yes, it’s the readheaded seductress played deliciously campy by beautiful Uma Thurman. Many hated her portrayal but many will also say that she was the best thing in the movie if not the only one. I loved her theatricality, her Mae West voice and type of lines, not to mention her big entrance a la Marlene Dietrich “Blonde Venus”. She was everything that 60′s style comic book villain should be: over the top, fun to watch and having a lot of fun being evil & glamorous at the same time.

Top 5 Tim Burton villains
Just watched newest Burton film “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children”, it’s definitely not Burton’s best, first half was excellent but all went downhill in the second part. Also Mr. Barron(Samuel L. Jackson) was a so-so villain, so let’s look at some of the finest burtonesque villains(I’ve included males also for this occasion, but of course, ladies have priority).
5. Martian Girl (Lisa Marie, Mars Attacks, 1997)
Tumblr media
4. Penguin (Danny DeVito, Batman Returns, 1992)
Tumblr media
3. Joker (Jack Nicholson, Batman, 1989)
Tumblr media
2. Lady Van Tassel (Miranda Richardson, Sleepy Hollow, 1999)
Tumblr media
1. Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer, Batman Returns, 1992)

I mention La of Opar and her appearance in Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, a TV series from 1996 starring Joe Lara. Maybe it was a cheesy TV show but it was one of a few that was more faithful to the books. Tarzan is well educated and fluent in English(as he was in books also), we see a lot of lost kingdoms from original source, and of course a lot of evil queens and rulers. So here are some of the villains:
Priestess La of Opar - quick tempered ruler from Opar, the lost colony of Atlantis. She is in love with Tarzan, but of course he has eyes for Jane only so result is - a suitable human sacrifice for Flaming God.
Leopard Queen - a demon that inhabits body of an innocent girl and rule blood thirsty leopard people.
Mora - queen of Mahars, reptile-like race from a lost city of Pellucidar.
Queen Talia - vicious ruler of an underground city beneath a volcano.

La of Opar
So, I watched new Tarzan movie few days ago, it was okay but without good villains not to mention villainesses so here is one of the most essential if you have read the books, of course...Meet La of Opar!
La is the queen and high priestess of Opar, a lost city located deep in the jungles of Africa. Opar is portrayed as a surviving colony of ancient Atlantis in which incredible riches have been stockpiled down through the ages. The city's population exhibits extreme sexual dimorphism caused by a combination of excessive inbreeding, cross-breeding with apes, and selective culling of offspring. Consequently, female Oparians are physically perfect, while male Oparians are hideous bestial creatures.
On her first encounter with Tarzan, La falls in love with him, he being so much more physically perfect and attractive than the male Oparians. But Tarzan spurns her advances, as he is already committed to Jane Porter. This endangers his own life, as the religion of Opar condones human sacrifice, and La comes close to dedicating him to her city's "Flaming God" on a number of occasions. The two encounter each other time and again, as Tarzan keeps returning to Opar to replenish his personal wealth from its hoarded treasure.
Don’t know why they always avoid to put her in the movies, a few rare examples include TV series Tarzan: The Epic Adventures and Disney’s animated Legend of Tarzan.
