Please consider that there are people like Neil Gaiman on this faesite who see us at our most feral and still actively decide to give us what we do not deserve. He observes us and still says “yeah, let me just make stories based on your angel/demon tropes and your childhood fears and your thirsty god lusting and your desire to mix magic with reality and your obsession with the mythological.”
Now go and thank him, because he feeds us like a father feeding a thousand starving children after we’ve emerged from the darkened mines and run to his table like the absolute gremlins we are.

Listen, I know Kyle from Shrek 2 knows nothing beyond “drive flying carriage look pretty,” because I accept the fact that he’s a himbo who has absolutely no idea how cute he actually is because no one has ever actually looked at him twice when Fairy Godmother was around (stole all the thunder, smh), but I refuse to accept that this man does not have a happily ever after waiting for him.
Give me a story about how, after Shrek and his family overthrew the witch, Kyle runs into his partner trying to find a new job in Far Far Away, and he’s super adorably confused because no one has even glanced at him before but now he’s getting actual, genuine attention and affection?!
Kyle needs a good nap, some hot soup, and a goddamn love story because he worked for the FAIRY GODMOTHER, who is supposed to bring happy endings to every princess, so WHAT ABOUT MY BOY KYLE?!

I admire and fear you.
Could I be mildly allergic to cantaloupes? Maybe. Will I stop eating them? No.

Treating myself to a dinner out tonight because I’ve had a certain local restaurant in mind for a few days and I have a right to enjoy the parts of my life that aren’t in chaos right now and celebrate them.
Anyway if you see this you have to reblog and tag with a delight from ur day – even the littlest thing counts

How many people’s most beloved childhood stuffed animals are actually teddy bears, like I feel like that’s a thing someone made up. Reblog this and put what your longest owned and/or favorite stuffed animal as a child was in the tags, inquiring minds want to know

Not sure that the word “sauce” shows up, but I do know that I have never written two scenes in order that show up in order in the book.
I finished a draft so I get to reward myself with nonsense online
So
Please tell me something totally inconsequential about your WIP. Like what font you use, how many times your main character’s name appears, whether or not you use the word “sauce.” I’ll reply with the same detail from mine!

It’s the adult version of “I have a friend that nobody else can see!”
having ocs is so fun tho. It’s like playing with barbie dolls except we’re hallucinating it all vividly in our heads and everybody is emotionally scarred

Ex-fucking-scuse me I do not recall asking your self-consciousness to show up here today, you keep collecting Funko Pops and you better be getting the best ones possible. Only the rarest for you.
And you’re not alone. A lot of people of all ages love Funko! Don’t let people tell you that you can’t have them because you’re an adult. Being an adult doesn’t mean giving up things you like.
🍬 and 🐥 for your ask?
thank you for sending me an ask! i appreciate it so much. i'll send you a couple of asks once i answer these questions. ♡
🍬 - what food is most nostalgic for you?
the most nostalgic food for me is either pop rocks or ring pops. those two were my favorite candies while i was growing up. but of course, they don't sell them anymore (i believe?). i have so much more nostalgic food but those two are my top choices plus the list would be long lmfao.
🐥 - do you collect anything? if so, what do you collect?
yes, i do! but... it's probably embarrassing since i'm an adult now. i collect funko pops! i just think they're the most absolutely cutest things ever imo. in my private list on amazon of things i want to buy, it mostly consists of them.

2, 8, 9, 10 for the WIP ask meme! ♡
Thank you so much for your ask, love! I enjoy interactions so much and really need to get back into this.
And distractions-
2. Post a line from your WIP with no context.
“Her beauty, even in older age, was something that no one could deny, and many wondered how the physical factor did not overtake the rarely-spotted signs of her anger. As easily as this idea had been circulated, it had been shut down with the general question of “well, would you like to have married her?” And so, the thought was dropped without further conversation.”
8. What is your biggest challenge?
Plotline. Always plotline. I have a main idea, but execution of such with even the slightest detail is excruciating to come up with. Two years I’ve been working on this WIP, and I still have barely more than a concept. I loathe it.
9. How would you describe your writing style?
Eloquent while trying to be modern and not drone on. Probably makes things hard to read and I am terrible at suspenseful moments because I just don’t know when to stop.
10. How would you describe your WIP's narrative style? (1st person, 3rd person, multiple POVs, single POV, alternating chapters, etc.)
3rd person from a single POV, wavering between limited and omniscient.
Alright, I may have to go do some more writing now, because this makes me want to make it better!

Aspiring author here. Please, please be kind to writers and don’t take their work for granted or for free. It is a pleasure to be able to write for someone’s enjoyment; it is a privilege to do so for a living. Chances are they love creating as much as you love reading, or they wouldn’t keep going. But if this keeps up, they may not have a chance at all.
“People have always felt a sort of ownership over art, and that’s actually good. It’s why you keep a book on your shelf and return to it, it’s why you hang a picture on your wall that speaks to you. But when this gets out of hand and you mistake access or a personal connection with your rights, as happens so often in our Internet age, it leads to a dangerous sense of entitlement. That’s why readers feel empowered to complain, directly to the creator, that a book or show doesn’t have absolutely everything they want: the romantic pairing they’d hoped for, the language they find most friendly, the ending they desired. And it’s also why, for instance, the last Harry Potter book leaked on the internet before it was officially published: fans saw the book as something they were owed, not the product of labor that deserved compensation. Not that J.K. Rowling needs more money—but she, and all authors, deserve to have their work recognized as work.
“Consumers hold a pernicious power, so this trend towards free content won’t reverse itself unless we want it to. This is a sad thing, and we will all be much worse off if we can only hear stories from people who can afford to write.”

Who is your favorite ship from any of your wips?
Treja, a kind, genuine older sister of five and the head of her farm and a certain prince from a certain book that I am certainly working on because the inspiration now flows.
And they aren’t even the main characters, oh my gods-

🌷- - when life becomes stressful what helps you to relax?
Sorry for the long wait on this one!
For me, when I am stressed, music and books are the best tools to counter it. I find a lot of solace in reading through something that brings my mind away from the problem.
When I look at reading, I usually turn to fantasy pieces or something fiction so that I feel like I’m really in a different world. This helps me feel like I’m not in the current modern world and allows me to separate my mind from current world problems.
Music has two uses. I do have a playlist specifically for relaxation that I can use when I’m reading or doing pretty much anything to keep my mind off my stress. I can also use my free time to explore new pieces and artists that I can add to my library, my playlists, and use in various projects. Either way, spending time exploring and listening always manages to melt some of the tension I have.
Thanks for the ask, love!
