One more time...
Celebrating the music of Daft Punk after the news of their breakup. An incredible duo that I believe, had a major part to play in shaping our internet culture. Perhaps the influence was involuntary, but just the same, their music inspired others to pursue EDM, as many artists flocked to online spaces to commune, collaborate, post, and remix. That, and their music found strange places through the glorious new world of internet memetics. Even now, their music is still used in various ways to express humor. I’ll never forget the first time I discovered Daft Punk, which was through their “Technologic” music video with that strange robot baby thing. Freaked me out as a 5th grader, but the music kept me locked in. I couldn’t look away. Their dance music is infectious, inspiring, and fascinating. Whether they make a comeback or not, the music they’ve left for us is a treasure trove~ 💙

For a lot of people this past week, and a lot is an understatement, this winter storm we just came out of was more than just an inconvenience, it was a life or death situation. Yesterday, the sun finally brought warmth, as the snow and ice began to melt away. Children were playing, birds were singing; a sign of spring had arrived.

It snowed BIG TIME here in Texas this week. It hasn’t snowed like this since like... 2011? Anyways, this year’s storm is much worse. Power outages, water being turned off. Not sure how long this storm will last, but it certainly looks like it’s here to stay for the week. I see snow as a second chance. A blanket of purity that brings in the Spring. This week is gonna be tough, but when it’s all said and done, I think we’re about to have one of the most beautiful Springs ever, and especially after the year we experienced in 2020, I think the world needs to see some beauty.
