I'm delighted to show you Weird Al is still funny as hell 😆
Transcript below the cut
Video transcript: Weird Al Yankovic, who is a middle aged man with long wavy hair, is in his kitchen and says "Once again it's time for Real or Cake?" Then he is holding a huge knife with a watermelon on a cutting board on the counter. He says "Real or cake?!" then aggressively chops the watermelon open in one swing and holds it up and says "Real!" Then a box of cereal is on the counter and he says "Real or cake?!" then aggressively cuts the box all the way in half and laughs "Real!" with a manic grin. Then his arm is on the cutting board, the knife in his other hand, and he says "Real or cake?!" Then starts cutting deep into his arm with blood gushing. He laughs painfully and has a strained manic grin and says "Real!" Next scene his arm is bandaged and there's a regular cake on the counter. He says "Real or cake?!" then aggressively cuts the cake in half and grabs a half and takes a huge bite and triumphantly shouts "Cake!" and laughs

My B&W and Weird All Over Book arrived so I decided to scan few pictures I like with my phone once again… lower your expectations though, they’re not super detailed.

I feel like an under-appreciated quality with Weird Al is that he's quite clear in his singing. Aside from deliberate parts such as in Smells Like Nirvana, I've not had to look up lyrics to understand him. Which I very much appreciate, due to hearing difficulties I have at certain ranges. I often have to look up lyrics of songs because it can get muddled to my ear, but Al is always quite well enunciated.
Comedy like that has to be understood to get the humour, but the clarity is a nice side benefit for me.

I have zero clue what you see in weird al (not judging just completely lost)
Hi anon! I hope you are having a good day. I fully respect that - I'm aware that many may see it as a very strange crush to have, and I take no offense at all. However, by sending this ask, you've just unlocked a down-bad infodump of epic proportions /lighthearted
So I can't speak for anyone else necessarily tho others may relate but for me personally he's an absolute dreamboat for the following non-exhaustive list of reasons:
His musical skills, including lyrical composition, musical composition, his knack for harmonies, his impressively wide vocal range, the way he captures the essence of a song or a musician's sound, his tremendous stamina during live performances, his skill on the accordion, etc etc
His sense of humour.
His face and profile are so interesting, owing to his large nose and chin. Idk about anyone else, but I'm way more attracted to visually interesting unique faces than faces considered conventionally attractive.
His gender expression is so light-hearted, silly, brightly-coloured, fun and comfortable.
The way he performs is so ... How do I explain this? It's very sensual (don't laugh) and fully embodied. He won't show a trace of being afraid of looking silly or strange, in fact he embraces it, and he throws himself and his entire physical being into his performances, all movements followed through expressively and confidently, even if they're objectively ludicrous (like his foot-behind-his-head dance, his wide flamboyant body language in interviews or on shows, his dancing in the Eat It video, or his suggestive hip-thrusting when performing Wanna B Ur Lovr live, just to give a few examples). To me, that is a highly attractive trait in a person. I will say there is an element of self-consciousness to his performing as well, but it's subtle, visible only as gentle self-mocking in a way that reinforces the performance rather than being off-puttingly self-deprecating.
He represents a philosophy that rejects having to grow up and be serious and dignified in order to be a mature, functioning adult, which deeply deeply appeals to my goofy queer audhd mentally ill ass. Can't imagine why /j
Other reasons that some may consider shallow, but I couldn't possibly comment. Like his arms and hands and his long curly hair and his big expressive warm brown eyes and his shoulders and his body hair and his voice and okay that's quite enough of that 👍
I hope that has helped you understand where I'm coming from anon. And if you're still like "I don't get it" then that's fine too. I love u.
TL;DR: weird goofy genderqueer bisexual thinks weird goofy accordion man is awesome, pretty, and a personal inspiration.
