Some pictures from today, March 30th, 2023, of the Land Day protests in Gaza - we mark the 47th annual Land Day in commemoration with the six Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces during demonstrations over land confiscations in 1976, I highly recommend watching this short video to get a better understanding of what the Day of the Land means to Palestinians. From River to Sea - Palestine will be free 🇵🇸

Boycott Israeli Dates this Ramadan, from Call 2 Action Now, 28/Feb/2024: (caption under images)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This Ramadan, don’t break your fast with an Israeli date. Stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Israel’s genocidal assault on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has now killed tens of thousands. Palestinians, facing down Israel’s catastrophic violence, call on us to boycott Israeli products in solidarity with their struggle for freedom.
Follow this quick guide to boycotting Israeli dates:
• Always check the label when buying dates. Don’t buy dates that are produced or packaged in Israel or its West Bank settlements. If no country of origin can be found on the box, check the retailer’s website.
• One of Israel’s largest exporters is called Hadiklaim. It sells dates in supermarkets under these names: King Solomon, Jordan River and Jordan River Bio-Top, as well as under the labels of supermarket chains. Check the box carefully, if the dates were “exported by Hadiklaim” – don’t buy them.
• Avoid these companies: Mehadrin, MTex, Edom, Carmel Agrexco, and Arava
#checkthelabel is not enough. Israel has been caught labelling their dates as ‘produce of Palestine’. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, M&S, Morrison, Aldi, Lidl and Asda package Israeli dates under their own labels!
Buy dates from Zaytoun, Alard, Yaffa, and Holy Land Date all support Palestinian Farmers. If you cannot get hold of these brands then buy dates from Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, UAE and Algeria.

as we discuss the circumstances that can lead to acts of protest such as self-immolation, let us not forget that many gazans (such as ehab abu nada and fathi harb) in years past have also self immolated in protest of the israeli blockade on gaza. this has also been a form of protest among palestinians in the occupied west bank as well.

because in cases of self immolation it is perhaps most important to amplify the cause for which they are committing the act, here’s what the protestor in dc had to say.
Tumblr media
[ID: In a live stream video, the protestor stated, “I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it is not extreme at all.”
The protestor ended their statements to the camera with: “This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal.” /End ID]
(protestor is currently in critical condition according to the dc metro police dpt)

Hulu is being harshly criticized for streaming a pro-Israel ad which brazenly claims Gaza would be a vacation destination if not for Hamas. Mimicking a glossy tourism pitch, the 30-second ad invites people to “Come visit beautiful Gaza” in text on-screen while showcasing what appear to be AI-generated images of pristine beaches, luxury hotels and happy travelers. A narrator tells people they can “embrace the vibrant nightlife of the city and experience a culture rich in tradition” in the region, where the United Nations says about 100,000 people have been killed, injured or gone missing since Israel’s retaliation campaign following the Oct. 7 attacks that killed 1,200 people. The sunny tone abruptly shifts as the narrator declares, “This is what Gaza could have been like without Hamas” and photos of Palestinian adults and children with weapons flicker on-screen. It ends saying, “Free Gaza From Hamas Now”

The reason the number of women and children killed by Israel tends to be higher and remains significant is due to the fact that with the ongoing displacement, families tend to move in together, making the number of people sheltering together reach 30 or 40 people at times.
With that, the men of these families tend to let women and children take shelter during the night inside apartments and houses when available, knowing they provide more relative warmth and comfort, while men tend to seek shelter for the night elsewhere, usually in tents in open areas. This means that when Israel deliberately strikes homes during the night, the inevitable consequence is that the overwhelming majority of the people killed or injured will in fact be women and children.
Israel knows this and continues to deliberately strike homes, most of the time also knowing the exact number of people sheltering inside and even their ages. Women and children are not "collateral damage", they are specific targets that Israel had long deemed eligible, starting the day these women and children were born Palestinian.

people treat bisan, motaz and plestia like they're influencers instead of, you know, people who have endured/are enduring war crimes beyond imagining and ethnic cleansing. what I mean is, they never asked to be spokesperson for their people's humanity, or planned to be so visible. they're just people, ordinary people who can never go home, who are surviving colonial violence. what they're doing and what they have done defies any term of admiration or respect I could apply. But I wish that people would stop thinking of these individual Palestinians trying to survive in war zones like celebrities or politicians with actual power because it's just another form of dehumanisation. Ask yourself, what will you do if something happens to Bisan? If she is killed or goes dark or inshallah she escapes? Everyday I see posts like, "if Bisan dies, I'll riot!" riot NOW. speak up, now! Palestinians and Lebanese and Syrian people who aren't going viral on social media are being murdered by the occupation in the 100s everyday. I am begging people to stop hingeing their faith in the free Palestine movement and the movement to end the Zionist occupation on individuals. I love Bisan and Motaz and Plestia with all my heart and pray for them every day, but I'm begging people not to reframe Palestinian liberation through individualism. Support BDS, donate to UNRWA or the Red Crescent Society, listen to Palestinians across Palestine and the diaspora. Your belief in the freedom of Indigenous peoples has to transcend the ones most visible and palatable to you.

this is just more personal community beef but ill be assed if any Zionist motherfuckers on campus tries to pretend they care about human dignity after this current genocide stops getting as much mainstream attention. I will NEVER fucking forget how easy it was for them to be vile and racist and xenophobic I and Islamophobic and pigheaded and malicious. They put MY community in danger because they were too fragile to be wrong. Their reactions to our protesting has forever damaged the public image of anti colonial protesting in my community and I’ll never fucking let them live it down. I’ll never give the tiniest bit of help to any of them they’re truly the scum of the earth.

You guys better never shut up about Palestine. Even when they are liberated, your mouth better not close. Thousands upon thousands have died, and your words will never equal their lives, even if you spoke of them for thousands of years. You owe it to their memory, and to the people who live on, to never shut up.

I don't think people truly understand the gravity of Rafah being bombed.
There is nowhere left to go.
The lowest cost is $5,000 USD to flee to Egypt. There has been people paying over $10,000 USD.
That is the only option
Pay or die.
Rafah was the only place in Palestine promised not to be bombed. That promise is broken.
1.5 million people have nowhere to go!
Reminder, if possible, please donate to the PCRF, ANERA, Islamic Relief, Palestine Red Crescent Society, Medical Aid for Palestinians, Defense for Children International - Palestine, Doctors Without Borders, and all other trusted organizations.

It's not because he cares about Palestinians (cutting UNRWA funds, because of confessions obtained through torture, should tell you otherwise), it's because he doesn't have a large stockpile of weapons to send.

If you’re really into hardcore music (and adjacent), 121 bands have come together to release a compilation album to benefit Palestinian children (all proceedings will be donated to MECA for Peace). The album was released on bandcamp and is called “A HOMELAND DENIED: A Compilation for Palestinian Liberation” and you can get by clicking the link.
