Episode Digest:
I, for one, am delighted by the fact that they’ve taken a risk and reaped the consequences of their own actions. In some ways, they’re intimately careful about how they operate - after all, they’ve not tried to overpower Lucien’s team despite having lots of chances because they’re afraid of the fallout. But when it comes to exploration of these sorts of story hooks, at least 50% of the team seems to have a Let’s Push ALL The Buttons! attitude which is so much fun, plot wise!

Last we left our heroes, they were periscoping out of a snow pile and discovered that the omnipotent entity who has unlimited scrying abilities and keeps a Blood Hunter around has shockingly caught up to them! Who knew.

Episode Digest:
I feel like they had a good thing going with the tower, but they biffed it. Why didn’t Caleb put up the dome and THEN cast the tower door? Yes, the dome would have dropped the moment he went in, but OTHERS could have gone in ahead of him and could have, perhaps--
Well, I’m backseat gaming now so it doesn’t matter.
The thing that’s beginning to creep up on me is the episode number - there are only 20 left! That means that Lucien’s City Planning is the end game of this whole thing. Which means that there are just-- SO many threads left unexplored. Caleb’s Scourger friends and his scheme to kill Ikithon? Fjord’s hunt for Sabien???? Yasha’s tribe??????
There’s SO MUCH left to explore! Will they even be level 20 before the game ends? Or will we cut it at 15 or something? I need to know!
I suppose the good thing about this is that if they DO cut it preemptively, there is room for
oneshots
fanfics
later content releases
And that’s good. That’s good........... I just. I don’t want this to end. I love these idiots. So much.

I have to ask, since you live in Japan, what form of "I/Me" do you use? To me you seem like a "Boku" person but I'm not sure.
lol nah, I just use 'watashi' across the board. It's the most gender neutral of them. I'm at work all day, I'm expected to use professional language anyway.

pet peeves: Discipline as a verb
Really wish this would fade from people’s vocabulary. Every time I hear someone say ‘discipline a child’ I cringe. And I know that’s partially from my own baggage but here’s why I find it personally fucked up:
Discipline is something you HAVE. It’s an acquired skill, it takes work, it takes time. It’s not something you can DO to another human being. It’s certainly not something you can force into them through screaming, or scolding, or physical punishment.
You aren’t ‘disciplining’ anyone - because the outcome is not discipline. It’s fear and, at best, obedience. That’s not the same damn thing as discipline. It’s nowhere close.
You can demonstrate discipline to children and let them learn by example. You can exhibit discipline and they can follow your lead and form habits. But you cannot beat discipline into children.
Sincerely, an Elementary School Teacher

You don't have to answer this (and I know you're not out to your coworkers) but are there any difficulties you face as an agender person living in Japan? I partially ask because I'm a non-binary person who's considered visiting Japan before
I think your question is important, but it’s a bit difficult to answer because living in Japan as an agender person long-term and coming to Japan as a tourist and just vibing, as the kids say these days, are going to be two very different experiences.
Tumblr media
But I suppose in a general sense, I can give you a blanket statement that might cover the basic areas:
- 99% of the people you meet in Japan will not know what ‘agender’ is, and will barely be aware of the existence, let alone the concept of nonbinary identities.
If you are referred to in English, you will be gendered as whatever you pass as, and the best case scenario (or worst, depending on your tolerance of these things) will be that people will be confused by the ambiguity.
The good news is that, of course, you don’t really need to seek out these situations in order to have a good time in a foreign country. You can go and do sightseeing, experience restaurants and museums and etc without having to interact with people who will gender you. Most tourism isn’t really gender-specific anyway. The only time you may have trouble is if you decide to go to onsen, the public baths, which are separated by (you guessed it!) genitals. If you’re hoping for a ‘gender-neutral onsen experience’ then you have to research renting out a private bath for yourself and your friends.
I know you asked about my personal difficulties, but they’re very different. If you’re asking about whether I’m harassed outright - no, I’m not. Most of the time, I’m stared at because I’m white, not because I’m androgynous (and I’m barely even that, most people will not even clock me as anything other than weirdly dressed, because it’s so outside of their scope of experience).
The general advice here is - don’t worry about being bothered in the streets, but also, don’t expect people to recognize your gender on sight, if at all. They will most likely assume that you look the way you are because you’re a foreigner before coming to any other conclusions, and most people interacting with you will not even think that hard about it, because they are busy thinking about other things.
Also, don’t even think about coming to Japan anytime soon. Borders aren’t open to general public yet.

Hi just wanted to say this, I read your bi visibility day post and I'm really thankful to you for including this
"- Flip-flopping between which gender you’re attracted to and tearing out your hair every week screaming “AM I JUST FAKING IT...? AM I ACTUALLY JUST GAY/STRAIGHT...?” is 100% a bisexual thing."
I've been struggling with my sexuality for a bit recently, only just figuring out, hey I might be not straight, and then switching back and forth thousands of time
Seeing someone else express that, and realising that's normal was indescribable
So thank you
Tumblr media
Hell yeah, glad to help!
We may be 50% disaster and 50% feigned confidence, but we’re 100% bisexual. That’s just how it is, and I recommend embracing the chaos.

hiya! I love Dumas the kobold, would you be all right with me borrowing him for my D&D game?
Yeah, go for it! I though I'd answered this before but apparently not - you can throw Dumas into your games all you want!
I'm working on developing a little PDF package for him - a collection of cards of his wares and a character sheet for him. But that's not done yet, so just do whatever ya think fits. :)
