Got everything planted. It was a lot and I kinda put it off to take care of other stuff outside because the weather has been beautiful this week. Sometimes you just gotta smoke a little weed, throw on some music and get to work.
Certainly helps that there’s currently a tornado warning so I couldn’t really get much done outside 🤷♂️
I’ve been so damn busy with big projects that my planting schedule has suffered a bit. But I’ve been in this position before and it all worked itself out. I don’t actually plant my garden until the last week of May anymore. I’ll take this week to start the seeds I need to get going and I’ll replant anything that hasn’t sprouted yet. It’s gonna be nice this week so I’m gonna start to harden off what I already have growing. Small steps toward the big goals
One of my favorite things about gardening is other gardeners. There's just such an urge to share plants, seeds and cuttings. Such a freeness with sharing information and ASKING for information. I can't wait for my front yard to stop looking like crap so I have little old ladies stopping by to ask me what kind of plant such-and-such is and does it attract many butterflies? And would I like some spare hostas? Are those blueberries there? What kind are those? Good for jam?
MN is not known for it's front porch culture but if you sit there and have a garden you will attract gardeners eventually, no matter how chaotic your garden is. I miss that from the old house, but I'll get there eventually.
Weathers been shit. I’ve been cooped up inside and works been a little stressful so I decided to make the handle and latch for the meat bird run gate to distract my mind for a bit. I could’ve bought this stuff for like, 8 bucks. But I have a lot of random stuff around here to build things with. Plus I made it with my bare hands, with love. You can’t buy that. Anyway, had fun with this one. Check another project off the list
Got me one of them fancy 300 gallon totes for rainwater collection. Collecting rainwater has been a dream of mine for a while now, so very happy that come spring I can finally make that a reality
