We’ve been a bit quiet lately, we’re both very busy but we thought we’d treat you to an introduction to a new UK Hiphop artist Opposite! Here’s a few question we asked him!

Opposite, where are you from?

Im from the east of the UK in Norwich.

When and why did you start making music?

I started experiementing with music in 2006, i used to rap a bit but i was more on the engineering side, i was always a writer though, i didnt hit a professional studio till 2010 when i was 20 years old, i was always a creative person trying to find a vent, with music i’ve found that.

Do you play any instruments?

Yes, i play Guitar & Bass Guitar, i would say im competent in both, i dont really incorporate me playing into the Hip Hop music, im actually in a band with a friend as well which is fun but my main focus is the Hip Hop.

Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

I admire anyone from Hendrix, Nick Drake, David Bowie, Elvis Presley to Kid Cudi, Pac, Elzhi, Nas & Big L, i have a very broad music taste which expands through time and genre, i like to consider myself a musician whos capable of anything which people will see with my coming mixtape “Mr Invisible”

What do you think is the most attractive part of your sound?

I’d sat my honesty, i talk about anything, i dont hide my pasy or my opinions, i can be very out-spoken, as for the sound, i’d say i flow with the beat on point and i posess a kind of light hard hitting delivery with metaphors & similies.

How do you balance your music with other obligations like your job?

It’s pretty easy for me at the moment, i gig on the weekends and work during the week, i work a fairly mundane job, i have fun with my colleagues but the whole 9 to 5 thing spurs me on to want more.

What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?

Stand up and do YOU, only pick up the mic if you feel you have the ability to do so, dont expect to be great instantly, its a long hard journey full of emotions you have never felt before, you need to live and breathe music, be preapred for a lot of hard work.

Where can we listen to your music Opposite?

You can hear me on www.reverbnation.com/thisisopposite

for all my updates

My latest mixtape “Opposites Attract” can be download here for free: http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/opposite-opposites-attract-mixtape.42058.html

Thanks Opposite, finally before you go, whats next for Opposite?

Well, i’ve recently been working with BMJ Promotions & im working on a fully original sponsored mixtape “Mr Invisible” the name derives from a film i watched called The Invisible, it basically refers to talent going unrecognised, so the unexpected will come true and i will get recognised to my full potential, i’ve got some amazing producers on this project & it will be promoted as hard as can be.
