{{ DOL AMROTH }}
→ From Sindarin dol “hill” + Silvan Amroth “Up-climber”
[Amroth, King of Lorien, died here in T.A. 1981]
Dol Amroth is a feudal principality which forms part of the Kingdom of Gondor in the southern reaches of that realm.
The city of Dol Amroth sits in the Bay of Belfalas, south of Edhellond, around the inlet of Cobas Haven, the small bay into which the Morthond River flows. It is ruled by the Princes of Dol Amroth, under the banner of a silver swan. The lands of Dol Amroth are also known as Dor-en-Ernil, or ‘the Lands of the Prince’.

The voice in your head is lying to you. You are capable of creating a captivating story.
If not today, then tomorrow. Or three years from now. The point is — practice, practice, practice. Write, write, write. You are good enough. AND YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TRY.

Every single fic update there is an author trying frantically to find the right balance between a nonchalant aside of "leave a comment if you enjoyed =)" and clinging desperately to the coat tails of a random stranger, dragging along behind them on the street wailing "Please, please! I have to know what you thought! I'm desperate to talk to people about this! Ask me about the alliterative repetition! Ask me about the symbolism!"

Miranda Otto sings Lament for Théodred in LOTR: The Two Towers
An evil death has set forth the noble warrior
A song shall sing the sorrowing minstrels of Meduseld
That noble cousin, who always held me dear
Now is held in darkness, enclosed.

Thinking about that part in LotR where Tolkien describes a victorious battle and how swiftly he changes the mood so that the reader doesn't feel too comfortable with the affair

I was today years old when I found out the devastating line “no parent should have to bury their child” was something spoken to Bernard Hill (Theoden) by a woman whose daughter was killed in a terrorist attack in Ireland, and years later he asked for it to be in the Theodred grieving scene. And we have all wept since
