Hello, I was wondering what could cause a ferret's skin and urine to smell sweet? She has also been urinating/defecating in areas she ordinarily would not. I know that in other animals and humans the sweet urine smell, can indicate Diabetes. She's always been rather small, and very hyper. The sweet smell is a very new symptom. I'm worried. Thank you for your help.

Hi there. I would recommend calling your vet (one that specializes in ferrets) and make an appointment to get your little one checked out. Something isn't right and it's best to get her looked at by professionals. Make sure not to leave it, ferrets can go downhill rather quickly. Best wishes for your baby girl ❤️
