So with tumblr's recent AI bs, it looks like I'm definitely going to have to nuke all my fics off of here. I've started the process already, but I definitely need to finish it up. I read that private posts won't be protected, which is a shame, because I had hoped to save the comments I had received, but alas.

Hello! If you follow my multi-fandom sideblog, you’ll know what’s going on, but for those who only follow here,

I am making the change to exclusively posting fics on Ao3 and Quotev. This blog will remain up for those who would rather send anon asks or interact on here than Ao3, however, the works will be removed in order to redirect traffic to the other sites.

oh I wasn’t aware it was feeding the ai. I’ve inserted hundreds of fics into chatgpt for their continuation or for a different plot within the same context just for fun and out of curiosity… but I’ve never posted any of them…

Indeed, anything that is given to AI it can use later to draw from. That's why it doesn't matter if you post them or not as it has now access to those writers' texts without their permission.

It’s you friendly neighbor fanfic author here. In the light of this apparent new trend of people feeding unfinished fics to AI to get an “ending,” and some people even talking about “blanket permissions,” let me just say this:

I EXPLICITLY FORBID ANYONE TO FEED MY FICS TO AI. DUDE, THAT IS ABOUT THE LEAST RESPECTFUL THING YOU CAN DO. IF YOU DO IT, SHALL YOU BE EXCOMMUNICATED FROM YOUR FANDOM AND WALK ON LEGOS BAREFOOT TILL THE END OF DAYS.

That is my anti-permission.

Guys, if you read on AO3 please try to create an account. So many of us writers are going to be forced to lock down our fics to registered users out of necessity to help keep AI away, and it kills us because we don’t want to stop any of you from reading.

AO3 is invite only. So if you know an AO3 user, ask if they have an invitation to give you (we’re given invite codes to share with others who want to join) because that’s an easy way to get in. If you don’t know someone you can ask, this is AO3’s instructions for requesting one from them…

I know this seems like an extra step and maybe you don’t think you need it and can just read from people who haven’t locked their fics. But this isn’t just about you as the reader. If you enjoy fics and you want to keep them coming, this is how you support your favorite writers! If our stats and comments plummet, I guarantee writing is going to start going down as well. Nobody wants that! So please consider making an account and signal boosting this as well! 🙏🏻

**NOTE: AO3 indicates (as of today) there’s 48k some people in the queue for invites and they’re sending out about 5k per day. That’s not a bad wait at all!!**

Hello undine, can you help spread this? I feel like all the writeblrs from 2018 era are gone now and that makes me sad. Are any of you still around? I hope everyone is doing alright

First of all, I'm a writeblr from the 2018 era so make a note of that. "Undine is alive and kicking still, and we can't get rid of her no matter how hard we try." Write that down, word for word.

And there are still several writeblrs around from back when I joined writeblr for the very first time in 2018!

I did just check every single one of their blogs, and they all should have been active at least once in the past month or so. I don't all know for sure if they're from the 2018 era (I myself, was from October 2018 so I was only around for a little bit) but they're all people I remember chatting with and looking up to back in ye olde days of writeblr around 2-3 years ago when I was super, extremely active and in my writeblr prime (and popular 😉 jkjk).

I definitely understand what you mean though. Not only has there been a huge generational shift in modern-day writeblrs, a lot of people are inactive, and I've also realized that I haven't talked to most of these people in a really, really long time.

No wonder why no one knows who I am these days. I'm very much a relic of 'old writeblr' now that's not super relevant anymore, aren't I? Resting on my withered laurels and all.

But yes! If you've been a part of writeblr for 3+ years, please sound off! Tag your friends! Let's find each other again! As much as I love and appreciate new writeblrs, I'd love to find and reconnect some of the older writeblrs still around. Please, please hit me up 🥰 I miss you all dearly, and would love to meet/catch up.

        In the morning, I prepared myself for my first day of training, trying to push the interaction with Loki from my mind. I had been clearly instructed not to talk with him in the first place, so it would be best just to pretend the entire thing had never happened. And yet, my mind kept wanting to linger on it…

        Abruptly shaking those thoughts away, I grabbed some of my old practice clothes from when I had been on the soccer team. As I dressed, I thought about the irony of the whole situation.

        I had been so relieved to be allowed one year free from sports and the rigorous training that came with it. That had never been my scene. I never really fit the picture of an athletic, sporty girl, even though I was good enough at anything I had tried. I didn’t click with the other players the way teammates were supposed to.

        My coaches always said I had talent and potential, but I never had the passion for sports to take it any further than the hobby my parents insisted on. Which made it all the more ironic that now, I actually find myself looking forward to what essentially amounted to the same thing. But no, not really, when I thought about it. After all, how could I compare soccer or swimming or track to training with the Avengers?

I have to be honest, I’ve been really burnt out on Marvel writing for years now, especially with the interaction in the fandom taking a nosedive in regards to comments and reblogs. However, I have a couple of ideas for X-Men series, a little something for one of the Netflix shows, and some general Peter Parker stuff. Maybe if I can find time between my last semester of college and my other fanfic blog where I have multiple series in progress, I might squeeze something in for here.
