Reblogging this to mention my updated score after part 2 and some comments

- Y'all Heart Killers ticked off 3 bingo items for me!!!!!!!! (FirstKhao, JoongDunk, P'Jojo directing First Khao)

- At least 2 GLs - counting Pluto announcement from part 1 and Us the series from part 2, we are sorted.

- I am super excited for The Ex-morning cause I loved the trailer, plus I learned that P'Jojo developed the story idea. I think we're gonna get some fun meta deliciousness.

- Gemini and Fourth both got more projects outside of MLMU, so yay for them.

- Mark in a lead role - this one was my most anticipated item on the bingo and I am so excited to tick it off.

- ForceBook series is also ticked off, though i must say i am a little bummed about the project they got. Perfect 10 Liners just seems so generic.

With that, I am at 20/24

Here's the items I missed

- MLC special episode - I knew this was a long shot, but I wanted to manifest it.

- Aou in a lead - mannnnnnn, Aou keeps getting the short end of the stick. I need them to wake up and see the signs!

- Homeschool Season 2 - Another one which was a manifestation attempt. I thought because s1 ended on a sort of semi-cliffhanger, this could very well be on the books, but I guess not right now.

- Santa in a BL ensemble- So Santa is in Revamp, but that's not exactly a surprise. I wrote this bingo item with an assumption he'd get another role in an ensemble lineup. He still might have something because not all shows announced the full cast, but for now, I am keeping this unmarked.

Some other general comments

As I mentioned in my predictions - GMM is really really leaning into ensembles this year - between Hide and Sis, Scarlet Heart, Perfect 10 Liners, ThamePo, etc - so I am glad I got rid of my Period BL bingo item from part 1.

When I first joined the BL world, I was happy with gmmtv because 2023 was a good year for them. Between Only Friends, Moonlight Chicken, Be My Favorite, Dangerous Romance, Last Twilight, NLMG, etc. - there was so much variety. Not everything landed, but still, there was some effort to experiment. I don't feel that way about the 2024 lineup.

Between part 1 and part 2, we have

- 2 engineering/college ensemble BLs both directed by New Siwaj

- 2 japanese adaptations of previously popular works

- 2 idol romances or adjacent plot lines

(As much as they might want to, I don't expect GMM to offer any meaningful critic of the entertainment industry, especially with LYKN as the primary cast members. So, ultimately, I think ThamePo will go a very similar route to how Only Boo is going. Trying to focus on the romance and sell us a lot of song/dance covers.)

- 2 vampire BLs

From all of this, only the 2 vampire BLs seem like new-ish territory.

I know the safe bets have worked out for them in the past but I don't know how much longer they can continue to keep going back to the same well, especially because their cast list and star power keeps getting bigger.

(Can you tell me ForceBook or FB fans will be okay with being 1/3rd of the main cast for the third time in a row? )

The 2 most experimental projects from part 2 (from the BL lineup) seem to be The Heart Killers and The Ex-morning, as far as scripts are concerned. But even those 2 are safe bets because of the star power attached. I need them to shake things up a little bit!

With all of that out of the way, here's my top 5 most anticipated BLs from the full part 1 and part 2 lineup.

5. Peaceful Property (i know this may not be a BL, but I am counting it as one for now, until we get solid proof)

GMMTV Part 2 Speculation time!

I remember @icouldhyperfixatehim created a bingo template for GMMTV announcements during part 1 and I had a lot of fun with it.

I ended up doing not too badly considering I did this without knowing they'd do a part 1 and part 2 - so my predictions covered everything which I thought was feasible for 2024. Let's review my status at the end of pt 1 and switch up some predictions for part 2

Part 1 Review At the of part 1, I was at 10/24; 11 - if we are also counting Hidden Hangouts - which technically wasn't announced at GMM part 1, but is a JoongDunk variety show. Also, as far as I know it wasn't announced during the 2023 lineup either, so I am counting it.

Now on to what's remaining on here, lets discuss!

1. At least 2 GLs - I stay hopeful, but we my sense is because 23.5 is currently airing and Pluto is yet to be shot (as far as I know), getting 2 GLs announced in part 2 is tough. I would love it, but tough. But if we get even 1 new GL announcement, I am counting it.

2. Khao, Gun, Nanon, Fourth series - Because P'Jojo mentioned it as his wishlist casting - I put it in as a manifestation attempt during part 1. Knowing what we know now, I doubt this is happening 2024-25. But I stay hopeful for the future. We do know P'Jojo is directing at least 1 show - and I am gonna be a clown and believe all the wild twitter theories and switch this bingo item to - P'Jojo directing First Khao series. (If I am wrong, and we do get that Khao, Gun, Nanon, Fourth show, I will still be delighted. Also, while writing this post I realized, when we do get this show, because I really think it will happen at some point - Khao and Fourth will get to work with their all time favs, their idols and I think that's adorable.

3. First Khao series - if this doesn't happen, I am about to turn into a toxic fan, no joke. I need this. I have missed them. Also, they have straight up come out and said they have a new show, so if this is a lie, I will be heartbroken. All signs lead to a FK romcom or maybe I am delusional.

4. Period drama - Hmmm - I don't know about this one anymore. Seems like GMM is more focused on lower budget but cast heavy productions this year, if things like Ploy's yearbook, My Precious or We Are is any indication. Maybe they'll save up that money and give us a nice period drama? But I am taking this out, its too risky and I feel like Domundi is covering our period drama bases this year.

I am switching this bingo item for a Krist Singto series. If you asked in Oct 2023, I would never imagine this on my 2024 bingo, but now this feels like a sure shot easy item to tick off.

5. P'Jojo directing 2-3 shows - this is going out because P'jojo straight up told us on twitter he's only doing 1 show this year and I am betting on the First Khao show. Instead of this, I will add Santa in a BL ensemble. Another one of those - who'd have thought huh???(I will be very amused by a SantaFluke pairing just FYI - and I mean the My Ride Fluke, not the Not Me Fluke aka Gawin)

6.MLC Special Episode - I stay hopeful and I keep trying to manifest this. Its staying in. Bonus points if we get to see Jim and Wen's little popup shop in Japan (this is an Ossan's Love Returns reference for the unfamiliar.)

Plus, Mix is done with his degree, so what's stopping them now? (I know this is stupid because of PA'of directorial break announcement, but hey why can't it happen in early 2025)

7. NeoMark Pairing - this ship has sailed (if the response to Only Friend's ending is any indication) and I am okay with that. I will switch this item out with - Mark in a lead role!

(I am hoping for Mark Ohm BL, but I am not betting on it. I will also happily accept MarkNamtan non-BL)

8. P'Aof directing GemFourth - this is getting crossed off because P'Aof announced his break from directing, since he's producing 9 shows this year. I am replacing this with a Gemini in an ensemble.

9. ForceBook series - I don't see a reason to not get this. They are booked and busy. I am not very deep in the fandom for these 2, so I don't know if there's any theories about their next project. But as an outsider, I think they are getting a show. I'd be surprised if not.

10. More Fourth - I will always ask for this. I will always want this. That boy has too much talent to spend it all in promotional circuits, I need ACTOR Fourth to come back to me. (I know MLMU has just finished shooting, but this line item is for more Fourth shows, even if they aren't BLs necessarily.)

11. Homeschool Season 2 - I still think this can happen, despite Bright leaving GMMTV. It's not like he's completely against collaborating with them. Plus, unhinged Khao is important to me, personally. (I literally have not even watched the first season, but I am just amused at the soapy goodness potential)

12. Aou in a lead role, BL or not - Aou Boom have done 5 shows together - give them that lead role. Also Aou is excellent in We Are, which has renewed my passion in Aou lead agenda.

13. Only Friends S2 - This was from early October, before we got to a relatively weak ending with Only Friends. That being said, if they do a season 2, I am HERE to support it! I did not enjoy the ending as much as I hoped, but overall I was fairly positive on the show and if they give me a second season with Mix thrown into the Mix, I'd be delighted. But I will swap this out, because I see very low chances for this happening currently. But who knows, its still making them a lot of money from fan meetings. To swap this out, I have 2 choices - PerthChimon show and JoongDunk show. I am leaning JoongDunk, because that seems safer to bet on. Also, Joong is insanely marketable right now. (I also think Perth Chimon might get a show, but I can't speak to it.)
