Guess who reached level 20, just in time for his campaign's six year anniversary? Hello, I am alive, just not been posting much due to all sorts of reasons (namely life being busy and I've been writing more than drawing lately). But here, have a Watcher because he's reached his big ol’ milestone... That and it's been too long and I've been neglectful with my posting (this piece is from last year, as always I'm just sat on art that I don't get around to sharing 😅).

An update of an old, old piece from many years ago, to make it align a bit more with my bar Zeke's campaign. Namely his new design and a teeny hint at his conflict with his warlock pack with a summer fey that swapped to a winter fey when in a desperate spot. With my tendency to forget to post things until a while later, since this piece Zeke's campaign ended when the DM lost inspiration so there was no resolution to his little personal dilemma... And the fact he's been in two campaigns (by the same DM) with amnesia never really found out anything... Zeke's had his time, so it's only fair he gets a graceful retirement. Or as graceful as a bard can have.

An overtly happy Watcher, because everyone needs such a thing in their life and he strives to be a beacon of positivity. As with a few pieces lately, this is a redraw of an old piece from a few years ago, which was one of my favourite pieces of him because of the cheer. Though it has been my profile pic for a while and I did draw this at the end of 2022... So maybe it's already due for another redraw?

Since Watcher and co recently went to her rescue (well recently for them, like 6 months ago in real time), I felt I ought to give Aranessa’s design a bit of an update. Watcher first met Aranessa many moons ago towards the beginning of his campaign, as a 'business woman', and captain of a ship on the subterranean sea beneath their world. He quickly developed a thing for her because that boy can't say no to a woman with authority and confidence. They parted ways but after something like 5 years real time they finally met up again to give her a helping hand (there's more to things with her now as learnt in the last few sessions, but I'll save that for another time when I get around to posting related art).

My summary of (Watcher) art for 2023, or as I like to call it "how many pieces have I put in this template that I haven't posted yet?" (the answer's 9 so spoilers...?? ;D)

I have a backlog of art, think about posting, only to immediately forget. Or I lack inspiration from not playing much DnD lately and only draw one thing here or there, so hold onto them for a bit... There have definitely been a few months this half of the year were I've drawn a grand total of one thing... :'D

Did you know Watcher has had wings in place of his ears for over two years now? Because he does, and as much as I don’t care too much for them aesthetically, I felt I ought to draw something a little fun with them.

Apart from wings being a bit of a pain to draw, since Watcher has his set design of multiple years, ear-wings just don’t work in my head and feel so odd for him. It seems so not like him to draw them. But they’ve proved useful for them in his game mechanically, so they’ve got their use...!

New PC, who dis? (she's a dwarf forget cleric)

Please excuse the quick, scruffy style, it's how I throw down ideas own to get a vague design/colour scheme. She might get some more art, maybe, we'll see, she's only supposed to be for around 6 sessions!

(also I rolled awfully for health (a 1 and a 2), so she's a bit squishy for level 3 and we know how that can turn out...)

Just a paladin and their noble steed (who probably needs some armour because he looks a bit naked compared to Watcher...) I originally did this as I wanted a little contrast piece of young Watcher and his adventuring companion vs adult Watcher and his steed, but trying to copy of the posing made it look a little clunky... But nevermind, it'll do, it does the job. I still can't decide on a name for the lion, all files/notes relating to him has him as 'Helios/Valor'. He might be one of these, one day...

A redraw, as usual, but with different characters to be a little more daring.

This time it's Dekker and Nazir, from my first ever DnD campaign many years ago. The original picture was for the first anniversary, and it was ten years this year since their campaign started, so as redraws go this made some vague logical sense!

Dekker was my halfling rogue-assassin-shadowdancer with a (very) evil sickle, while Nazir was my human ranger-druid who was usually forgotten about because we played two characters at once (do not recommend, I'd not do it again because favoritism will always win!).

Since I don’t draw women enough, have the rarely illustrated Queen Ana, Watcher’s beloved mother and daughter of the fey lord, the River King.

While I’m still not entirely sold on the design I threw together for her, no matter what I end up with, I get the feeling Watcher will always take after his father most in his appearance…

Watcher's campaign recently had it's 100th session (after 5 ½, years) so I threw together a simple piece of some of the places the party have visited in their world of Auriga.Top left going clockwise:▪️ Montaña Sangre - big mountain and the final resting place of Watcher's childhood hero ▪️ Fort No - the party's base that they rarely actually return to ▪️ Khan’s Heart (the ‘Neath) - the main town at the centre of a massive subterranean sea (the party's current location, rescuing Watcher's attempt at a romantic interest) ▪️ Torigo - Watcher's home built upon a mountain topped with his family's castle ▪️ Arginott - home to a large cathedral to Lathander and where the BBEG solar, Truth, was held captive before the party unwittingly released him ▪️ Khalidaptra - a desert city, where one of Watcher's many attempts at finding a father figure was killed ▪️ The North - home of the party's barbarian, Axaliah ▪️ Edest - where the campaign began, and a city that was wiped out by the BBEG as a flex ▪️ Thousand Needles - an old breeding ground for dragons ▪️ Aldritch - where the party met their cleric, Vetrak, and had an explosive experience with a windmill ▪️Argwynlon - an elven city in a great forest, once home to Watcher's now deceased little brother and where they briefly stepped into the feywild to meet his grandfather ▪️ Tengil - city of pangolin-people who use devils to do their labour, which definitely didn't turn out badly for them and see the party fight a balor in the streets ▪️ The City of Jade - Vetrak's home from home, where his god, the Jade Emperor, lives and where the party had to free him from his imprisonment ▪️ The Desert - what you'd expect from a desert, where Axaliah unexpectedly married a blue dragon ▪️ Kintex - home of lizardfolk tucked in the deepest of jungles, and where the party's druid, Achuak eventually left to go to ▪️ Venta Hyperion - a dwarven city set within a mountain that was almost completely flooded by the Black Admiral, Vetrak's arch nemesis (and one of Watcher's brothers)
