One reason why I love anime. The emotion of the voice acting is too strong
did this anime waifu just tear down the edgy pretentious pseudointellectual facades we construct for ourselves as an obfuscating substitute for actual worth of character and accuse us of being so wrapped up in our own insular self-validating atrophied emotional comfort zones that we can only relate to others through pop culture allusions and mental dominance contests instead of a genuine emotional connection between two human beings
what the hell man
this was too intense for 3 am
I’d love to know more context
This is from an anime called Inou Battle or When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace.
It’s about a group of high school students in the literature club. One day, for absolutely no reason, they suddenly gain incredibly OP superpowers such as the ability to undo any damage or create any object. The girl in the clip above can control the elements, Avatar-style.
With their newfound powers, the literature club students decide to do…
They just continue living ordinary lives as high school students who happen to have incredible powers that they occasionally use for silly games while the “real” anime presumably happens somewhere offscreen.
Inou Battle is a harem anime where the male lead above is a dorky chuunibyou who is VERY familiar with superpower anime tropes, so he teaches the girls not to abuse their powers (i.e. bringing back the dead, because that shit ALWAYS goes wrong.) Unfortunately, his only power is the ability to light himself on fire. The fire only damages him.
White Hair girl in the clip above has had a thing for Protagonist for a long time, but it’s pretty clear he’s more interested in spending time with the red-haired love interest (who is also a closet chuunibyou). White Hair tries her best to connect with Protagonist, but he keeps inadvertantly pushing her away, saying she “doesn’t understand” his “cool chuunibyou” stuff. She blows up at him in this scene. It’s the best scene in the show and one of the best VA performances I’ve ever seen.
Been a long time since I watched it, but I remember having a fun time! It’s pretty funny
and also the only well-written Studio Trigger has every worked on since they didn’t write it lol
