I don't use tumblr anymore except to get on every once in a while to check for messages. But I just wanted to say something... anything, really.
It's a hard time to be trans right now. Part of me takes some comfort in the fact that two entire terfs I knew IRL have changed their minds on a number of trans topics purely because of the conservative crusade going on in the US. Basically, "so why are the main people I see making these points also saying that I'm killing babies by advocating for abortion and trying to ban pride parades?"
It's really, really hard not to see the sometimes word-for-word repetition of homophobic language from the 20th century being used on trans people. Protect the children, protect the children, protect the children. (Unless it's from guns.) It's about the rights of parents to protect their children from the sexual manipulation of the gays/transgenders. It's about protecting women from the sexually violent lesbian/transgender predators.
I'm taking comfort in my trans community right now. All of my trans friends, all of the trans people in my local lgbt group, all of my trans clients. Just knowing that we're here and we're not going anywhere, knowing that we have each other, is what I'm holding onto.

It really does get on my nerves when trans men throw fits about the labrys flag. They’re not lesbians, so why do they think they have a say? Why do THEY get to tell all the trans and nonbinary lesbians who have made and used beautiful trans labrys edits that they are spreading terf propaganda?

Marchers at the Gay Freedom Day Parade in San Francisco. The focal point is a woman wearing a cape and a leotard with “Gay Power” emblazoned on the front in glittery cursive. She is carrying a shield depicting an outline of a labrys and the words “FIGHT BACK”

can cis lesbians reclaim the labrys flag?
Of course! Any lesbian can use it because it's a lesbian flag.

I agree with the idea that "gay men perpetuating “blue for boys”" is a bad sentiment, and I think there's no problem with many flags using blue and pink to associate with masculinity and femininity, but jsyk the blue and pink in the bi flag actully don't mean that! The pink actually symbolizes same sex/gender attraction and the blue symbolizes different gender attraction!
In my opinion, it doesn’t matter what they “actually mean” when it comes to my point. The reality is that the flag symbolizes something that focuses on masculinity and femininity in some way (in this case, bisexuality which is attraction to any gender) and it uses pink and blue to carry out that focus. And especially since every other flag has that theme, it overshadows any “actual meaning” that the colors may have.
Colors have connotations and meanings in our society, and that’s going to be more potent than any assigned meanings given to them for a specific thing unless the entire connotation and cultural meaning changes for that specific thing. I’m not saying that the assigned meanings don’t matter at all, because they absolutely can matter to a subset of people. But on a society-wide scale, and in context of pride flags in general where this is all but the rule, it’s not immune to the theme of using pink and blue to represent femininity and masculinity.

I Really love how you reclaimed something that TERFs Ruined and fixed to make more for Transwomen! I love it! Thank you and good rest of the day! Be safe.
Terfs didn’t ruin it in my opinion, everyone else moved away from the labrys and they were the only ones who kept using it. If anything, WE ruined the labrys by allowing it to only exist in terf spaces. And that’s a mistake that can easily be undone.
Thank you for the support 💜

I love this blog so much. I plan on going to pride this year and I have a couple flags and one of them is the labrys flag. But I’m scared to take it with me because I’m worried I could get abuse or something for it but blogs like this make me feel safer about going out with it, thank you so much ❤️
You’re very welcome! If you’re openly trans-positive and people still choose to judge you for the labrys flag, they’re just a lesbophobe. Have fun at pride!

Okay, OP deleted her posts. Glad to see that stone hate is unpopular and enough people called her out on it to get it taken down.
Mini compilation of stuff I saw today:

Anyways stone femmes / high femmes / “pillow princesses” are only terrible in bed if someone chooses to sleep with them despite knowing their sexual preferences.
I absolutely adore you ladies. You are not being selfish. I had the honor of being with a stone femme once and it was one of the best sexual experiences I’ve had. She was attentive to me in her own way, she was 100% reciprocal in the way she talked to me and let me know how I made her feel. I would do it again a thousand times.
