ETA: it was Concord Youth Theatre. I think it’s really nice of him to do this for his community. And Scott is doing it too!🧜🏻‍♀️

Already seeing oh Chris is desperate for doing a ‘cameo’ when he is just supporting a community he grew up in and is involved with.
The haters are going to hate no matter what.
Okay but what is the source? How can anyone enter if we don’t have a link? 🧜🏻‍♀️

And that's scary, you know? You think, well is there another way to get where I wanna get without this? - Becoming Chris Evans, Part 2

I know this is a silly Chris Evans fan Tumblr blog, but bless you ladies for taking a sec to rant about healthcare. My family and I have been dealing with some serious health conditions that have but us in extreme debt. It’s affected our jobs (but that’s a whole other conversation), leading to loss of income, but we have all these added medical bills we can’t pay. The number one reason for bankruptcy in this country is medical debt. The world doesn’t stop when you get hit with cancer or AIDS or ALS or MS or Crohn's or any other unexpected illness. And unlike so many politicians, celebrities, or other people in a place of privilege… we can’t afford to get into a specialist for 6 months for a lot of our appointments. And they give you pills that don’t work that you can’t afford where the side effects are just as bad as the disease and then you’re just waiting, until you end up in the ER, which is another freaking bill. It’s AWFUL. And your boss is wondering why you’re missing work, and you feel like a burden to your friends. I could go on and on. But if you speak up about this publicly and are an influencer, you’re a hero and some nonsense. While others just want to not end up dead or on the streets. Not blaming those of privilege, just the systems in place. Now I’LL get off my soapbox… 😓
I completely understand your frustrations. I wish I could do or say something to make it better for you, but I’m along with you in the trenches and it’s an awful spot to be in. It’s like if you aren’t crawling with wealth, you don’t deserve quality healthcare and that’s so unfair. Cancer doesn’t just skip over someone because they’re “poor” and coverage plus affordable healthcare options shouldn’t do that either, yet it’s the reality so many people face. It honestly frustrates me to no end. There was once upon a time in my life just a few years ago where I seriously considered running for office in my state because I’m just so tired of these career politicians who are easily bought off by corporations that prevent us all from getting what we need out of life whether it’s healthcare, affordable housing, jobs that pay livable wages, properly funding things like education and childcare, ensuring equal rights for PoC, women, and the LGBT+ community and more. There’s just so much in this country that’s ass backwards and these out of touch politicians don’t care about helping the people they’re elected to represent anymore and I’m over it 🦎

i know someone that had to be airlifted to the ER and it cost $24,000 🙃🧜🏻‍♀️//
At that price I'd respectfully ask them to please let me go ahead and die instead.
Medical bills can be so disgustingly expensive even after insurance kicks in 😭🦎

I’m strongly on team “the only person who gets to decide where and how to give birth, plus who is allowed present at the birth is the person giving birth” 🦎
||| LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK‼️ I had my first baby where we are currently living and asked to not have anyone but my husband the tantrums my family who doesn’t even live in the same country had my lord I don’t wish it on anyone
I can’t stand the way some people view childbirth as a spectator sport. It’s such a personal thing and it can be incredibly traumatic for some and no one has any business violating those wishes. I know family members get excited to see the new baby, but if the parents request that family waits until they know everyone is safe and healthy after the birth, then that’s what needs to happen. I don’t understand why some family members feel the need to argue about that. Where is the care, empathy, or just plain respect for the person giving birth? 🦎

Joining in the healthcare convo....
I'm Canadian (from Ontario) and my brother was diagnosed with a brain tumour ten years ago at age 18. He had a 12-hour long surgery two weeks post-diagnosis, with surgeons consulting virtually from around the world. He stayed in the ICU for a few days and was released after a week or so. The next year, he had a six-week course of radiation. The greatest expenses to my family were gas (the hospital was an hour away) and parking fees. We were told that the surgery alone would have cost over $500k in the States.
Our healthcare system is very far from perfect, largely due to our conservative politicians trying to gut it to make people want to switch to a private care model. I'm a firm believer that I can constructively criticize something while being incredibly grateful for it.
I'm half-American, and I am very aware that if my parents had chosen to raise us in the US, my brother might not be alive today. Instead, he was my best man when I got married and is a dedicated uncle to my two kids.
My two kids, with whom I received world-class prenatal care, hospital births, and midwifery home visits post-partum, for zero cost beyond our taxes.
It’s so scary to think about how his health outcome would have been different if he had grown up in the US instead. It’s sad that it’s a reality we can all see because everyone deserves quality and affordable care. I’m so glad he seems to be doing well now! 🩷🦎

There's plenty of grumbling from Germans that the health system was/could be better, but I have never experienced anything so amazing. // In general we Germans just like to complain 😂 that's how I feel most of Germans are. But there's actually a problem finding doctors for general health care because there aren't enough. Like a family doctors, dentists, gyns. I drive 1,5 hours to see my gyn.
But emergency care is amazing!
I think no one should be scared of calling for help when they are sick or hurt. That's cruel.
For sure. I always go to walk in clinics(non-emergency ones) when I’m sick because they can see me that day where a regular doctor will make me wait 2 weeks. I do see specialists for a chronic pain condition and I can get in fairly quick, but I’ve also been a patient for 17 years now, but a new patient is put on a year long waitlist. It’s wild. 🦎

Why would she go to Portugal to have a baby when she lives in Boston? // they also have a home in Portugal and there is plenty of evidence they have been spending a lot of time there. Furthermore it could be BECAUSE they will be making boston their main base that she has the baby in Portugal. It gives her child a connection to her beloved home county. This is all fully conjecture, im just saying.🤷
100% conjecture all around this morning. And I highly doubt we’ll ever know their plan anyway. Nor should we. It’s far beyond our business 😂🦎

Why would she go to Portugal to have a baby when she lives in Boston?//// Often women immigrate to a country and then go back to their home country to give birth because they want to be in a more familiar environment. Or maybe Alba's mother could stay with her in Boston. Or maybe she will decide that she only wants Chris by her side. If you are rich, there are a lot of options a pregnant woman might choose. And it is more the woman choise than the husband because she is the one popping the kid

I think if Chris and Alba's possible future baby is born in Portugal, the baby would automatically get Portuguese citizenship when the birth is registered. Outside of Portugal the baby can still have citizenship but I think there are more forms and consulate meetings, not sure.
Even if born in Portugal, it would automatically have US citizenship as well because Chris is a citizen and that’s how birthright citizenship works here. It would be an easy to way to obtain dual citizenship in both countries for the baby 🦎

If we are sharing healthcare costs...was living in Germany two years ago. I had emergency surgery for an internal abcess, numerous scans and ultrasounds and six nights recovery in a one-person hospital room. I was charged a total of €12 a night and they were almost apologetic about it. There's plenty of grumbling from Germans that the health system was/could be better, but I have never experienced anything so amazing. I would move back to Germany solely for their health care (and I might if I can convince my husband to go 😂)

Btw; in 2022, the WHO ranked Portugal as having the 12th best healthcare system in the world. Tourists and expats traveling to Portugal can rely on good medical care, as the Portuguese healthcare system is tailored to immigrants.//
People as wealthy as chris can access quality and quick healthcare anywhere around the world. 🤷‍♂️
That’s been stated a few times already
