so like what even is the intended gameplay loop of fallout 4 when it comes to power armor? I'm not supposed to wear it all the time, am I? the limited and non-renewable fusion cores obviously paint it as something for special occasions. so I'm supposed to leave it at my home base, one of the settlements. there's even those mod stations you can build there. alright fine. but when am I supposed to wear it? and how? nothing worth wearing power armor for ever attacks your settlements. so I'm supposed to take it into dungeons? so I'm supposed to not be wearing it when I wander around the wasteland. I find a dungeon. I run back home to get my power armor. I run back to the dungeon with my power armor on, and then clear it while wearing power armor? well if that's the case then like half of the time spent in the game will be running to and from wear my power armor last was. I could fast travel but that's such a painfully non-diagetic solution to the problem that I cannot do that while holding on to the last vestiges of a fuck I give about the game's setting and story. this sucks. fallout 4 sucks. this is why you make a central design document first.

unofficial 5e supplements/conversions are often physically exhausting to read because they're trying to do pretty dramatic things within their scope, but they're made by people who have been playing Exclusively dnd for so long that even the things that really should warrant stapling on a custom system wind up getting handled as weird statblocks

anyway I'm thinking about this because I remembered a conversion with 300 distinct mecha, all of which are statblocked to say "immune to poison" instead of just saying that mecha categorically can't be poisoned and trusting players to understand why that's the case
