You know, the file about a man consumed by fear and guilt because he murdered the person he loved?

The file about a man who finds himself trapped in a walled garden, cut off from the outside world, with his murdered lover's voice forever whispering in whatever remains of his ears?

The file about a man who finds himself gradually losing his humanity as his new prison transforms him, slowly and painfully, into a part of itself?

The file about a man who finds that even as this transformation ultimately brings him serenity on the surface, even as he can no longer remember what he once was, "deep inside [him] beneath the roots there is something that still shakes with terror"?

Look, I'm just asking, here, but is there anything you'd like to say to the class, Norris?

I think the hardest thing bout becoming friends with singlets as a system is like.

Singlets assuming they know alters better than we know each other/ themselves. That weird phenomenon where a singlet suddenly tries to police who fronts or who does what because a different alter than the host fronted ONE TIME and now they think they know everything. It feels so weird, like they’re trying to force a deep connection when they barely know us.

And most of the time it comes off as SO. PATRONIZING. We’re not a child. We’ve been managing this for years. I think we know what we’re doing, thanks.

If a protector sets a boundary for another alter, instead of saying “erm actually I don’t think that’s true… I want to hear it from THEM” or if an alter fronts, instead of saying “are you SURE you should be fronting? This is a stressful situation… hmm yeah Idk you’re acting different I don’t think you can handle this you should leave…” MAYBE just accept the fact that we know ourselves better than you do. We’ve been in the same head since before we even knew you existed. I get that it’s usually well meaning but Please just give us the benefit of the doubt and listen to us. Trust us with ourselves.

Hey sysblr, has anyone experienced an alter regressing not in age, but in memory?

One of our alters (nameless for privacy sake) has been with us for five years. And suddenly he just doesn't remember anything about the system, or his time with us, or anything.

I'll be honest it's really stressful for him and the rest of us. Any advice?
