I said this before but an election day reminder: people who claim that if Biden is elected some vague group of “centrists” or “liberals” will go back to pretending everything is fine and drop any advocacy are really showing both their ignorance of liberal and left-leaning advocacy organizations and also making it very obvious they were apolitical or even right-leaning until 2016
and also idk, it’s been 4 years of Trump, literally hundreds of thousands are dead due to government inaction on the pandemic in addition to other deaths from family separation policies and hate crimes, waiting for the revolution is quite literally slower than just voting for someone who is better
i could never be a doctor aboard a starship bc the hippocratic oath requires you to “do no harm” but if the captain approached me saying we’re stuck in 1968 i’d start swinging no questions asked
i did a character like this once! his name was paul, from the village of deen, and he was a member of the Pahl Adien, an order of paladins devoted to hestia. he was a goblin
i think the lovecraft comparisons might have something to do with the credits of every episode talking about how commonplace books does lovecraft stuff
every horror writer in history wanted what the 19th floor subplot in the Wayside School books had
#i will not be taking questions. ( i mean yes sure i can but i doubt this is News Enough to have questions about)
not a question but atton and vector Need™ to recognize each other and have a spider-man pointing meme moment while the sisters look at each other and realize they both fell for sith-backstory wifeguys
i have been thinking and plotting and thinking and i dont think vesper is enough of a character On Her Own, i think in my (eventual) scifi worldbuild pt. 2 (the non-fool's gold side of things), seven is charade's twin. which means i need to overhaul things abt both of them to make more of them. Fit
#wait WHAT is that why bad things CONSTANTLY happen to him at all times? #I thought he was just the writers' favorite whumpee
i mean the force is the plot so that's basically the same thing
obi-wan is my favorite character in anything ever because the cosmic forces that control the universe literally have it in for him specifically and this is something thats flat out stated on multiple occasions and literally everyone knows including obi-wan himself but he just keeps on sadly careening from one disaster to another as everyone he cares about dies in increasingly horrible and tragic ways while wisecracking every 5 minutes like it’s going out of style and somehow managing to become the sluttiest magic monk in the galaxy to cope. icon.
snopes is still useful if you read what they actually say and pay attention. it's just the rating that's useless. like it'll be
CLAIM: this person did this thing
RATING: MIXED
WHAT'S TRUE: this person did this thing
WHAT'S FALSE: that doesn't make them a bad person
they still fact-check, its just that they also editorialize
does anyone remember the time during protests where protesters were getting kidnapped in unmarked vans? was that situation ever resolved? because if this happened in any country the US considers enemy there would be call for military intervention
yes, easily. the problem with the original is that there are three rooms with an odd number of doors
if you pass through a room's door an odd number of times then you will end up inside it if you started outside, and outside it if you started inside
to do that with three or more rooms is impossible, because you will always start outside at least two of them, and you can't end up inside both of them
if you're going through every door twice, there are essentially two doors in every wall with a door in it, which means there are no rooms with odd numbers of doors. you can start in one room (and outside all the others) and end up in the same room (and outside all the others)
Haters be like
“It’s totally possible to make a path that goes through every door exactly once”
legolas: the ranger pledged his support before me, but it turns out he's a king so that's fine, actually. but i CANNOT get beaten to the punch by a dwarf
granted i havent read lotr since i was 13 but the way legolas joins the fellowship always cracks me up, like hes literally a prince but they sent him as a messenger to basically tell the council like "whoopsiedoodles we fucked up and gollum is gone, that's what you get for entrusting him to the party elves of mirkwood you know how we get" and he feels SO bad he joins this super deadly quest like imagine you're thranduil and you're like "hey son can you go to elrond's house and tell him we fucked up royally" and your son is like sure pops can do but then you don't hear from him for like two months so you call elrond like hey e-dog what's good have you seen my son. and elrond is like. well i dont know how to tell you this but he went on a homoerotic voyage to the most dangerous place on earth. id be so mad
i like to think about plantoid aliens whose agricultural industry revolves around producing fertilizer to reconstitute the dirt they eat out of like a bowl
it’s easy to forget, so I’ll remind y’all: you can make fantasy versions of anything. yes even things you might not think about. like soil types. I am thinking of fantasy soil types right now
