Ohh okay so the director used to write lord of the rings fanfiction yeah that makes sense now
Is anyone else thinking that the Loki script sounds like it’s literally been copied from a gay 100k enemies-to-lovers slowburn fanfiction about a villian who regrets his actions and his home-y boyfriend who simps for him and would literally die for him

A lot of famous artists are rumoured to have been queer as a result of both trauma and privilege
As I’ve grown older, I’ve found out that many famous artists have been rumoured to be queer (a fact that they never tell children) - Shakespeare, Donatello, Tennessee Williams, Van Gogh, etc - and I was wondering why exactly is it that so many authors and artists who have produced so-called “classics” were actually queer? I’ve managed to put it into three points after thinking it over for years:
1. “Tortured artist” - it’s always been the case that people view art as a way to express trauma and many people are convinced that you must be tortured in order to be an artist. Whilst this isn’t always true, a lot of famous artists have struggled with mental health issues. A large part of being a minority is the trauma and struggle that comes along with it, especially at a time where being anything but the norm was so harshly punished. Being queer in a time when it was fatal to be yourself probably provided some pretty heavy subject matter for these guys to deal with, and many of them used art as an outlet.
2. The unique trauma of being queer and their ability to hide it - being queer is a unique experience that no cishet person (whether you’re a minority or not) can understand fully. Queer people are traumatised from repressing who they are. Linking to the previous point, queer men have fulfilled the “tortured artist” stereotype for centuries. However, their ability to hide who they are, whilst traumatising, has allowed queer white men to share their works with the least oppressed groups in the world, thus securing their works as “classics”.
3. White queer privilege - queer people are able (and expected) to hide who they are, whereas other oppressed groups do not get this privilege. POC have never been granted the ability to hide their race, and therefore were never given the opportunities that white men have been granted over the years. Women’s works have never been as highly regarded as men’s works. Because of this, many closeted white male artists were able to make a living out of their work, and have been able to share their art over multiple generations. POC and women have never been able to do this because of their lack of choice to hide who they are. White male privilege provided these men with areas to share their work, even though they were minorities themselves.
This logic still applies. More opportunities are provided to white queer men than to other groups and, for the most part, they can choose to disclose their sexuality to whomever they want. This, of course, creates a very traumatising experience for them, as it does for anyone in the community. In a nutshell, the reason many famous artists were queer (or were rumoured to be queer) is due to their status as oppressed oppressors. If Shakespeare was black or Van Gogh was a woman, we would not even know their names, let alone be consuming their art.

“Sometimes I think of you, Medusa. Inside your temple, mournful, surrounded by a hundred stone statues. The men who came to kill you and never left were named lost heroes, warriors, demigods whilst you were called monster, gorgon, terror. (Because the stories were always written by men) But this was never a story about a monster. It was always about a woman burned for a Sea God’s sin, a pawn in an ancient game the fates would never let her win. You did not desecrate that which is sacred, it was him. (But your story was always written by men) You begged him not to visit you, you pleaded with every God. But the Gods turned away when you needed them. You did not want to be remembered this way. And then one day, whilst you slept, a son of Zeus came. And killed you before you could even look his way. (And he too was named hero because the stories were always written by men) Someone once said, words cut deeper than a knife. That history is told by the victors. That he who tells the story is the one who controls the world. Women did not get to write your story, Medusa. Because if we did, a very different tale would be told. (And in our tale, you would not be Monster. But Priestess. Goddess. A maiden who once had a heart of gold.)”

Today a straight white girl got all hyped when she was asking someone to play vogue by Madonna and when it came on I was sort of like … oh ... right this was who it was really made for and now it hurts to hear because I’ve heard it in so many queer movies set in the 90s and thats heartbreaking

Genderfluid Loki
I’ve watched all the movies in the mcu (except the Incredible Hulk obviously lol) but I’ve never read any of the marvel comics. I never grew up around a comic book store and I never even thought to seek them out. But I just found out about Loki being gender fluid and fuckkkk I wish someone had told me about it sooner

Like ??? Why did no one tell me about this ?? This would have meant the world to me as a queer kid in denial

So, who do you think is “the hot one” in the relationship? I personally lean towards Harry because, frankly he deserves it after his bullshit life. You?
HAH oh man. They are both hot, I say, in completely different ways. Draco is hot in that so-out-of-your-league-it’s-not-even-funny way. He is pristine. He is carved marble. He is sharp and sleek and pretty. He was literally bred to look like that (lol) and relentlessly trained in looking like that. His hands move weirdly gracefully, like a subtle, hypnotic dance. If a lock of hair falls out of place, you feel like you’re seeing something intimate. Fuckin work of art lookin motherfucker. Behind red velvet rope.
Harry is hot in a rugged, asymmetrical, how-can-someone-so-dangerous-look-so-charming, never-learned-how-to-buy-new-clothes kind of way that looks irritatingly effortless. He either doesn’t notice or doesn’t care that his shirts are getting a little tight around his chest and biceps, whatever, they still do the job. His forearms will make you sweat. He’s got a crooked nose (thanks to Draco) and a crooked smile (oddly bashful but given out generously) and his eyes are fuckin intense, man, if you make eye contact for too long you’ll get butterflies and you’ll have no idea why. (You’ll know why, but admitting it would make you feel like a fangirl and you’re just trying to be cool, dammit.)
*bows* thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
It should be noted that this particular description mostly comes from the fic I’ve just finished/posted. I have read fics with all kinds of bodies, and I love it every time. I have also written a fic where Harry is a wicked hot drag queen. Literally all options are great. I have yet to find a physical description of these two I didn’t like or buy into. 🤷🏼
