Genuine question, do you still read fgo’s main story? Used to love your theories and analyses back then, I know this game let you down on many occasions but is there anything in the story you’re still looking forward to? Will you be there for the finale at least or are you completely done?
If by "main story" you mean OC? I skipped the first one but I know the gist, and I'm reading the second one because features Salieri, Marie Alter, Mozart and Dantes.
This particular moment in Star Trek is actually quite important. A lot of people don’t realise that understanding something is not the same as approving of something. This particular episode (A Taste of Armageddon) had a civilization where war was fought on computers instead of on the battlefield and instead of people dying in combat they would send the calculated amount of “casualities” into a camp to die. Kirk is outraged completely by this and rightly should be, but Spock is not so overtly disapproving. He understands why they might think their solution is better for their civilization and takes the time to think about why they are doing it. Even though he can understand why, he still believes it is wrong for them to be doing it.
There is a separation between understanding something and approving of something that a lot of people seem to miss.
Hellsing (2001) | Hellsing Ultimate Finale parallels I thought were interesting. Integra feeding Alucard her blood at the end of OVA X, and Alucard tempting Integra to drink his blood in the final episode of the anime.
At the beginning Roman asks Guda if they want to fight to save humanity but never asks Mash the same thing. Mash is a Demi-Servant designer baby created at Chaldea for the specific purpose of fighting for humanity. But I don't remember us ever learning what her thoughts are about her designated purpose. Does she feel obligated to fight for humanity? Does she approve of practices like the military draft in the outside world where people are forced to fight whether they like it or not?
Guda was new in Chaldea, Mash wasn't. That said, IMO, what Mash is truly fighting for is the underlying question right now. The solution of her "blank" arc. But it's taken way too long to get there for me to care.
The Japanese VA of Alucard (Jouji Nakata) and Integra (Yoshiko Sakakibara) just met on the set of JJK and they greeted with the line of Alucard and Integra greeting at the ending of Hellsing:
I wonder what someone like Mash who has never lived in modern society would think of the Israel-Hamas war and the Ukraine-Russia war. Namely, I wonder what her opinion on forced military conscription would be. What do you think?
