Dear diary, today I learned that violence against women is legal in the EU, I’m glad the lawmakers are trying to fix this error so the other 50% of humanity can have the same legal protections against violence as men have.

Did a little bit of research, and from what I can tell, domestic violence against women isn’t against the law in the EU itself, just most/all of its constituent countries (the article seemed to be singling out turkey as the problem, but I didn’t check), and the idea is that this would make it so that no EU country will be allowed to make domestic violence against women legal.

And I mean, that seems like a good thing to me, but to make it just women seems like an odd choice.

yeah that sounds about right. its just politically strong arming countries that havent taken such measures yet, which most already did around the 50s/60s depending on the country. but Turkey is not a EU member yet. theyre in NATO not the EU, theyve been a candidate for decades but because of Cyprus mostly its never gone through. According to EU law you cant have a border conflict with a neighbouring state (how that applies to greece im not sure, they might have been in the EEC before that conflict ((which i think started in 1975)) so their application for membership never went through. It might also be a formality so countries going off the deep end dont retract that law, or just virtue signalling. No way to know for sure because international political machinations lmao.

Finally braced

Does it hurt?

yeah my teeth are kinda sore now but it should pass

mostly it’s uncomfortable

its the putting in and taking out thats the worst part. and the first week or 2 after they put it in or tension it.

yeah that’s what i’ve heard

but i think they’re gonna tension it or do something in like three weeks already lol, idk is it gonna always be that frequent, probably not

at first its going to be, later theyll do it less, but they tension it more so its going to hurt more too. i had mine for like 4 to 6 years and it fucking sucked. then again, my teeth do look nice now so it was worth it. im just happy it was over with when i was 14

damn i didn’t know some have to wear it 6 years???

i was told i probably gotta wear these 2-3 years and then have a jaw surgery

your upper teeth are like opposite to mine, mine go like too much to the opposite direction lol. if that makes any sense

but they’re like that cuz my lower jaw is not in a correct position

i had that happen to my wisdom teeth, those did need to get removed by a surgeon because the local dentist couldnt get any kind of movement in the bastards. but thats nothing compared to the entire jaw, my teeth just hate me lmao, i had one extra tooth as a kid too, like one behind the other. fucking weird man

man i hate teeth tbh, i’ll just pull them all out and eat soup all day every day

not to be too cynical but youre going to do enough of that already the first few days after getting it tensioned. and yeah sometimes the damn things seem like more trouble than theyre worth.

yeah i kinda realized a lot of stuff i love to eat are kinda not an option at all now but maybe it’s good, i feel like it’s easier now to eat just when i have to and not eat to my boredom or whatever

i had the opposite problem lmao, and my favourite local sausages are dried, and i couldnt eat the stuff like youre supposed to for all those years.😭😭😭 only in very thin slizes and still only carefully. i broke some off on a tough schnitzel but on marshmellows too. and having a broken wire or one of the connection pieces come off sucks too, it starts feeling like having sandpaper in your mouth, especially in the cold. so make sure to keep an eye on that one, because youve got a lot more of that lmao.
