The Hart Blade is also a collaboration piece between myself and a guild mate with the roles reversed, I forged and they finished. An elegant thing that's wickedly sharp. Its lore requires its wielder to be a steward and protector of the environment around them, or face the wrath of the forest itself.
This orcish chopper is named Lovebite, and is the product of a collaboration between myself and another smith in my guild (they did a rough forging, I did the grind and the rest of the finishing and handle)
A while back I was asked to make a pommel for a sword a friend of mine was forging. Turns out that sword was being made for a player on the Cleveland browns who's super into d&d. Matt Mercer even named it for him: Ruinous End. For my upcoming show I decided to make a mini version of that sword, I'm pretty pleased with the results!
Tiny war hammer! I had to make the rivets myself from 12g house wire. This is going to be part of a gallery showing about tiny things, what should I make next?
The Blade of Union is a wedding present I made for my good friend who I’ve been playing D&D with for years. Hand forged by me from stainless steel and brass, I even made the brass and felt box for it and the item description!
A rail spike knife I made as a thank you present for my neighbor who was nice enough to give me this heavy sugar maple stump to affix my anvil to. The home forge is 100% up and running now, if you’d like to commission something just send me a DM!
Well, sometimes things don’t work out the way you want. This piece got destroyed in shipping and had to be returned for a rebuild, and this is the result! I’ve named this newly reformed letter opener “leafcutter”. How do you think it looks compared to the original?
My newest blade “The Staghorn” was made in collaboration with another smith across the country. He sent me the rough forging, and I did all the finishing, and then sent it back and vice versa. It was a lot of fun working from another persons starting point to see how things came out.
New knife! This one is made from a tine off of an old spring harrow and some salvaged scrap hardwood. This knife was made as a give away on my Twitter account, (which you should follow @theuglymachine)
Sword pendant I crafted for my partner for Valentine’s Day 2022. Made from scrap bronze. The bottom picture is before antiquing and finishing. Let me know what you think!
A letter opener made with recycled materials (as always). This commissioner wanted to emphasize a celebration of plant life and vulture culture, how do you think I did?
