Its wild that Dune part 2 was like $190 million or something and looks phenomenal, and while thats still a lot of money, these marvel/sony/ Disney flops cost $350+millions?!??! It has to be money laundering like it HAS to be. Where is that money going?? Mission impossible cost $567million. Antman cost $450 and looks as drab and washed out and forgettable as every other marvel movie. Like?!??

Restructuring the timeline and removing the 2 year time skip was the best adaptational change the movies could have made. Alia is an effectively impossible character to adapt accurately from Book 1 and I've been wondering how they were going to handle her and I think they chose the best route they could have by just essentially removing her almost entirely by having her literally not be born yet. The time skip works well for the book especially considering HOW the first book was published but I don't think it would've worked as well in a movie format.

I hope Dune stays a trilogy because the later books get really weird….in a divisive way.
