While I understand the last anon’s concern, I do think it was a side effect of a disposition to assume a lot of depictions of fat characters are done maliciously because of the malicious depiction of a lot of fat characters in media. I don’t necessarily fault them for it especially because Miss Piggy Peko could be misconstrued, but I find you do well with genuine depictions of fat characters, and I find it quite endearing how fat!Peko is always just as attractive, badass and beautiful as canon!Peko in your art, especially in the eyes of Fuyuhiko and there’s no infantilization or fetishization. Peko is just fat and hot and those things coexist and are not contradictory at all.

I’m sympathetic to anyone who’s been traumatized by fatphobia and fatphobic microaggressions. I focused my last post on providing quantitive-backed information about my past art where there was confusion. I think all of us (me included) could maybe do a bit better about not automatically assuming bad-faith takes from independent creators, though.

I understand the knee jerk reaction to Miss Piggy. I won’t pretend that she, as a character herself, exists in a vacuum free of fatphobia. I tried my best to highlight my POV of The Muppets as a still-beloved and timeless franchise for me, and how I admire Miss Piggy’s immediate propensity to kick some ass in the face of hate.

why why why do you have to always portray plus size peko with like. food. literally even a pig at one point. it comes off as really fatphobic.

Of the 25 chubby Peko drawings I have tagged, three of them have food in them. Two of those three are fruit print patterns on her clothes.

The chubby Peko post as a pig is an AU of her as Miss Piggy, where she literally karate chops a dude in the head for being fatphobic.

Honestly the whole "Age up underage characters so it's okay to make nsfw content of them" thing always have fell like kind if a gray are for me. I think doing it with old teenagers isn't that bad but honestly it becomes worrying when trying to apply it to younger and younger characters. I am not directing this at you, i have no problem with you, just wanted to share something that has been on my head.

Sure! I can definitely understand the icky feeling for characters that are, like, 7-years-old in their canon.

I suppose the point I am trying to make is, I cannot control what sort of fictional content people may like or dislike. Please do as you please in that regard as long as it does not hurt real people! But I don’t think my method for coping (which I personally believe is quite harmless) with strangers harassing me and making sweeping judgments about me in my inbox (and I realize you guys don’t have any visibility into the amount I received, but it was a non-negligible amount) is somehow worse than or on any sort of level of said harassment.

those people are pretty shitty for saying that stuff about an innocent (and borderline canon) ship, but ngl hearing that you (someone who is more than likely over 18) cope with the hate by drawing legitimate pxrn of highschooler characters puts a really bad taste in my mouth. didnt wanna open tumblr and learn that detail about an artist i've looked up to for a really long time but hey, life is full of let-downs and disappointments

I think it’s perfectly fine not to like things I or anyone else does! I cannot control how you or anyone else feels, and it’d be terrible for my mental health to think I could. However, I have never hid depicting kuzupeko as a couple who share a sexual relationship together, including (but not limited to) showing sexual interest in each other thru funny one-liners, suggestive poses, being half-naked in bed together, and procreating (having a child/Mie). I’ve also written explicit kuzupeko fanfiction that is readily available on my AO3 because I enjoy exploring how couples may express intimacy in various situations and contexts thru writing.

I’m fairly certain I’ve never created any strictly explicit work in any sort of context where they were not adults, but I’ve certainly broached the subject of the two of them having racier thoughts for each other as teens, because I too used to be a teenager that had racy thoughts from time-to-time.

I am not asking you to view or even like any of that, of course, and I go to great lengths to make sure anyone who doesn’t like such explicit content is properly warned so they cannot stumble across it against their will. But my work is out there!

i am so so glad that you’ve been putting yourself first recently. this is such a well deserved break. i hope you’re spending it focusing on you!!! thank you for all that you’ve given us over the years, i’m sure everyone could agree that we could not be any luckier or more grateful!!!

This is such a sweet message and like one of the nicest things I’ve ever read, thank you so much!!

It’s been very liberating being able to take this break away from content updates and focusing on a lot of things I’ve been neglecting. A little update on what I’ve been up to, for those of you who are curious:

Art-wise, I’ve been mainly focusing on headshot commissions. Everyone has been so kind, and it’s been so much fun being able to draw everyone’s ideas and characters.

I also recently accepted a new job offer that gives a higher salary, so I’ll be starting my new career adventure soon!

And lastly, having extra free time meant I was able to focus more on dating (more than I had in the past year at least), and I’m currently in a relationship with an amazing man who treats me right. It’s still early, but I’m very excited to see where this relationship leads!

I hope everyone’s been staying safe and healthy! There are a lot of really exciting things going on in my life right now, and when things settle down a bit, I hope to post some more content updates sometime soon!

Hello, lovelies!
