What would I die for? Love. That kind of love that asks us to drop all of our internal walls and truly know its essence. That kind of love that we should all open ourselves to before the inevitable end of our physical being turns our capability to love to ash. That kind of love that can transcend any regret we hold in our hearts over past deeds. That kind of love we can pass into effortlessly and know that it is ok to pass on, for we have known the essence of the world. Love. What would I live for? Love. That kind of love that shoots like a rocketing comet through the entirety of your being, transforming you into a giant of the world. That kind of love that you can raise as a mighty flame and pass forward unconditionally, freely. That kind of love that knows unilateral forgiveness and compassion for your fellow human no matter the consequences. A sad, slow song plays and I have you here in my arms. When I look in your eyes, I see an ocean of wisdom and sadness. They are two waters colliding. One still, one a torrent that cannot be dammed. One speaks to me the ways I must be in my maleness to be able to continue this dance with you in perpetuity. The other speaks of the imminent break we must respond to once this dance is over. I have failed. But for now, I have your left arm around my shoulder and your right in my opposite hand.
