a few reminders because i’m tired and angry

fandom is a hobby, not a form of activism

adult women aren’t inherently creepy for being in fandom and having hobbies apart from raising babies and doing taxes

the vast majority of people pushing back against the worrying trend of instigating harassment over fictional characters and relationships aren’t incest supporters or pedophiles, actually

liking a m/f ship doesn’t make someone a dirty heterosexual invading your space

preferring gay ships doesn’t make you ‘’woke’’ and good

no one owes you a disclaimer that they are a good person who recognizes that their favorite fictional villain’s actions are evil and that they don’t condone those actions irl

liking a fictional villain is in no way comparable to advocating abuse/murder/genocide/etc and you’re a fucking idiot if you believe that

just because a woman is attracted to a fictional villain doesn’t mean she’s promoting toxic relationships or going to end up in a toxic relationship. assuming women can’t tell fiction and reality apart stinks of internalized misogyny 

some rando’s a/b/o fanfics have none of the level of influence that popular tv shows and movies spreading propaganda have

no one owes you a detailed description of their traumas and mental health problems

abusive relationships are not the same as enemies to lovers ships

y’all need to chill the fuck out over people, relationships, actions and events that don’t actually exist and learn how to enjoy and discuss them like normal people

Exactly. And I think, based on what we’ve seen so far, Colin’s words both mentioned here and the whole “I wouldn’t dream of courting Penelope featherington” made her wake up and realize that no one is going to rescue her. She has to “rescue” herself.

In a way, it is her own awakening of who she truly is as a person and the confidence that gives her (or that she forces upon herself) that makes Colin see her in another light.

While the plots will change for the Bridgerton couples, Shonda won’t change the end game pairings. Though she will make us and the couples suffer a bit to get there.

Luke Newton’s understanding of Colin Bridgerton, you’re my only hope!!!

The idea of Debling being the one who makes her feel like a woman is a betrayal of the Polin story. It’s wild to me that this fandom swore up and down that Colin had his identity stolen by Benedict but when his role in Penelope’s life is ACTUALLY being stolen by Debling, it’s crickets. Wait no, worse than crickets because people are defending it.

Can someone explain to me, who came up with this stupid thing, that Colin only noticed Penelope after she looses weight? Because it just isn't true and it never happened - for both book AND show fans.

Yes, there is a mention in Romancing Mister Bridgerton of Penelope losing 2 stones (baby fat, on the rise of puberty), between 1813-1814.

But RMB happens 10 YEARS LATER, in 1824. So how does "Colin noticed Penelope after loosing weight" line up, when there's literally a decade in between he took to wake up?

Not mentioning the fact that Colin - who is obsessed with her body - literally said:

"She was soft, curvy and lush, just as he'd always thought a woman should be."

And if there's ever brought up an appearance insecurity/flaw, it was always by Penelope, never Colin.

So, can everybody, please, kindly, shut TF up? Thank you.

Let's get this straight, once and for all.

"His love hadn't been a thunderbolt from the sky. It had started with a smile, a word, a teasing glance. Every second he had spent in her presence it had grown, until he'd reached this moment, and he suddenly knew. He loved her."

He loved her all along! He just thought love would be this sudden new feeling to a stranger that will turn his world upside down, instead, it was someone who he already thought dearly of and has known for years. He could not realize he loved her, because the love has been there all along and he felt so comfortable in the feeling for years it made it impossible for him to recognize. It didn't take him this long to love her, it took him this long only to realize.

And Luke Newton himself plays Colin in love, but oblivious to the fact since season 1; and don't you dare tell me you don't see it - have you seen the man's eyes?!

I'm so tired of this. Especially when the season is almost here and there's more people than ever saying this shit.
